The properties of ultra-thin two-dimensional (2D) organic ferroelectric Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of the poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF-TrFE)] were investigated to find possible applicability in flexible and wearable electronics applications. In the C-V characteristics of the MFM capacitor of 2-monolayer of 5 nm films, a butterfly hysteresis curve due to the ferroelectricity of P(VDF-TrFE) was confirmed. Typical residual polarization value was measured at 2μC/㎠. When the MFM capacitor with ultra-thin ferroelectric film was measured by applying a 10 Hz bipolar pulse, it was shown that 65% of the initial polarization value in 105 cycles deteriorated the polarization. The leakage current density of the 2-monolayer film was maintained at about 5 × 10-8 A/㎠ for the case at a 5MV/cm electric field. The resistivity of the 2-monolayer film in the case at an electric field at 5 MV/cm was more than 2.35 × 1013 Ω·cm.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide, with a 5-year survival rate of < 40%. The diagnosis and treatment decisions of GC rely on human experts' judgments on medical images; therefore, the accuracy can be hindered by image condition, objective criterion, limited experience, and interobserver discrepancy. In recent years, several applications of artificial intelligence (AI) have emerged in the GC field based on improvement of computational power and deep learning algorithms. AI can support various clinical practices in endoscopic examination, pathologic confirmation, radiologic staging, and prognosis prediction. This review has systematically summarized the current status of AI applications after a comprehensive literature search. Although the current approaches are challenged by data scarcity and poor interpretability, future directions of this field are likely to overcome the risk and enhance their accuracy and applicability in clinical practice.
This paper addresses the issue of field measurement of excavation damage zone (EDZ) and its numerical simulation method considering both excavation unloading and blasting load effects. Firstly, a 2000 m-deep rock cavern in China is focused. A detailed analysis is conducted on the field measurement data regarding the mechanical response of rock masses subjected to excavation and blasting operation. The extent of EDZ is revealed 3.6 m-4.0 m, accounting for 28.6% of the cavern span, so it is significantly larger than rock caverns at conventional overburden depth. The rock mass mechanical response subjected to excavation and blasting is time-independent. Afterwards, based on findings of the field measurement data, a numerical evaluation method for EDZ determination considering both excavation unloading and blasting load effects is presented. The basic idea and general procedures are illustrated. It features a calibration operation of damage constant, which is defined in an elasto-plastic damage constitutive model, and a regression process of blasting load using field blasting vibration monitoring data. The numerical simulation results are basically consistent with the field measurement results. Further, some issues regarding the blasting loads, applicability of proposed numerical method, and some other factors are discussed. In conclusion, the field measurement data collected from the 2000 m-deep rock cavern and the corresponding findings will broaden the understanding of tunnel behavior subjected to excavation and blasting at great depth. Meanwhile, the presented numerical simulation method for EDZ determination considering both excavation unloading and blasting load effects can be used to evaluate rock caverns with similar characteristics.

PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to compare the densities of asphalt pavements measured both in the field and in the laboratory, and also to evaluate the applicability of field density measuring equipment, such as the pavement quality indicator (PQI), by using statistical analysis. METHODS : For the statistical analysis of the density measured from asphalt pavement, student t-tests and a coefficient of correlation are investigated. In order to compare the measured densities, two test sections are prepared, with a base layer and an intermediate layer constructed. Each test section consists of 9 smaller sections. During construction, the field densities are measured for both layers (base and intermediate) in each section. Core samples are extracted from similar regions in each section, and moved to the laboratory for density measurements. All the measured densities from both the field and laboratory observations are analyzed using the selected statistical analysis methods. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION : Based on an analysis of measured densities, analysis using a correlation coefficient is found to be more accurate than analysis using a student t-test. The correlation coefficient (R) between the field density and the core density is found to be very low with a confidence interval less than 0.5. This may be the result of inappropriate calibration of the measuring equipment. Additionally, the correlation coefficient for the base layer is higher than for the intermediate layer. Finally, we observe that prior to using the density measuring equipment in the field, a calibration process should be performed to ensure the reliability of measured field densities.

In recent, different kinds of nationwide thematic map have been developed based on NGIS, and each related research field has tried to develop GIS by utilizing this map. Also, Many researches on the geographic information data model has been conducted to improve the compatibility of developed system. The developed system in water resource field should reflect the dynamic characteristics of river flow. Because it should be considered from the design of data model, this study suggests the datamodel for designing geographical information database on water resources which is possible to linear reference capacity based on stream network. In order to examine the applicability of the suggested model, network component based system has developed. Finally, the river network based system shows the superiority in terms of its applicability comparing with other system.
In this study, a new formula of settlement at the head of IGM was suggested and the applicability of suggested formula was verified with field test results. This suggested formula was the function of the settlement at the shaft head and the elastic compression of shaft. The applicability of suggested formula was verified with the result of in-situ load test. Also, the bearing capacity of drilled shaft with the IGM's theory was compared with those of classical theories. The results showed that classical method showed smaller values of bearing capacity than those of field load test data. The results of analysis also showed that the suggested formula and IGM's theory were applicable for the estimation of bearing capacity with the increase of shaft settlement. Especially, settlement correction factor($k_m$), which reflects ground condition and load transfer characteristics, increases as the applying load and shaft deformation increase. This suggested formula was applicable for medium density or higher density of soil condition and $k_m=1$ means yielding load for firm soil condition.
This study academically examined about whether STEAM education is really needed, as part of the convergence-style gifted education for training a producer in creative knowledge, through the documentary and Delphi survey. Based on the results, it developed STEAM education materials available for being applied to the domestically gifted education field, and examined the field applicability of the developed program. As a result of surveying validity and class satisfaction, the STEAM education materials of having been developed through this study were indicated to be useful in the aspects of the appropriateness for teaching-material composition, the learning satisfaction, and the promotion in the convergence-based thinking ability. The currently domestic situation is in being short of fundamental discussion about necessity or direction of STEAM education for gifted student, compared to an effort for emphasizing and activating policy of convergence-based education focusing on STEAM. PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum addition rate of SBR latex through the evaluation of durability and strength of SBR latex applied soil pavement. Formerly used materials such as fly ash and cement in soil pavement had resulted in decreased durability due to micro crack by heat of hydration and shrinkage crack in winter. However, that agglutinated polymers help adhesion to aggregate increased comes up with preventing the crack opening when the number of capillary tubes of SBR latex get decreased in the hydration process of cement. Therefore, in this study, it is suggested that the evaluation of the field applicability of soil pavement be conducted through the performance lab test in terms of strength increment, adhesion improvement, and crack resistance based on SBR latex addition rate. METHODS : In order to evaluate the field applicability of soil pavement, SBR latex was added 0 to 3% by 1% increment, with fixed cement contents of 3% and 5%. The resistance of shear failure and crack of soil pavement were evaluated by performing the uniaxial compressive strength test and indirect tensile strength test at -20 and $20^{\circ}C$, respectively. RESULTSCONCLUSIONS : It was found out that from both tests, resistance of shear failure and crack were improved with increment of curing time, and especially more than 2% of SBR latex addition rate and 5% cement content gave better results.

Stabilization of metals in contaminated soils using various waste materials has been reported. Alkaline materials (limes, shells, industrial byproducts, etc.), phosphorous (P) containing materials (animal bones, phosphate rock, etc.), organic materials (composts, manures, biochars, etc.) and others (zerovalent iron, zeolite, etc.) were widely evaluated to ensure its effectiveness/applicability of stabilization of metals in soils. Stabilization mechanisms of those materials above were partially revealed, but the related literatures are still lacked and not sufficient for approaching to long-term stability/applicability in the field. The aims of this review are to summarize current knowledge of metal stabilization in contaminated soils using various waste materials and to suggest a direction for future field research.
