The Mediating Effect of Professionalism in the Relationship between Clinical Competence and Field Adaptation in Newly Graduated Nurses (신규간호사의 임상수행능력과 현장적응의 관계에서 전문직업성의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of professionalism in the relationship between clinical competence and field adaptation in newly graduated nurses. Methods: The participants in this study were 213 nurses from four tertiary hospitals who had less than 12 months of nursing experience. Data were collected during January and February, 2013. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and path analysis with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. Results: The mean score for clinical competence was $2.85{\pm}0.25$, for professionalism, $3.10{\pm}0.30$, and for field adaptation, $2.79{\pm}0.37$. There was a significant positive relationship between clinical competence and field adaptation. Also, professionalism was positively correlated with field adaptation. Professionalism showed mediating effects between clinical competence and field adaptation. Improvement of clinical competence increased professionalism and the increased professionalism raised the field adaptation. Conclusion: Based on these findings, orientation programs including strategies to increase professionalism, should be established to promote effective field adaptation in newly graduated nurses. These orientation programs can strengthen professionalism, the mediator between clinical competence and field adaptation in newly graduated nurses.

The Influence of Job Stress, Self-Esteem, and Resilience on the Field Adaptation in Newly Graduated Nurses (신규간호사의 직무 스트레스, 자아존중감, 회복탄력성이 현장적응에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the relation among job stress, self-esteem, resilience, and field adaptation of the newly graduated nurses, through which an effective mediation strategy toward field adaptation and basic data on improving nursing quality can be established. Methods: The subjects were 110 newly graduated nurses who have worked at a tertiary hospital and a general hospital for less than 12 months. The data were collected, using self-reported questionnaires, from July 9 to July 31, 2018, and were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using an SPSS/WIN 24.0 program. Results: The study result showed that the newly graduated nurses' job stress, resilience, job satisfaction, and desired department influenced their field adaptation, explaining 60.2% of the variance in the field adaptation (F=42.14, p<.001). The nurses' job stress had the biggest influence on their field adaptation, explaining 38.7% of the variance. Conclusion: Human resource management strategy considering those influencing factors may improve the filed adaptation of newly graduated nurses and help them to retain in their work field.

Impact on department adaptation of field practice adaptation, college adaptation, and awareness of death of nursing students (간호대학생의 현장실습적응, 대학적응, 죽음에 대한 인식이 학과적응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to identify the impact on department adaptation of field practice adaptation, college adaptation, and awareness of death of nursing students, as well as to establish basic data for adaptation of the major, adaptation to field practice, and measures to raise awareness of death. The subjects of this study were 252 Junior and Senior nursing students living in C, J city. Data were collected after approval from the IRB of C University on April 30, 2018 and analyzed by the mean values, percentages, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression using IBM SPSS 21.0. The subjects' field practice adaptation was 3.58, college adaptation was 3.33, awareness of death was 3.15 and department adaptation was 3.38. There were significant correlations between department adaptation and field practice adaptation (r=0.56, p<0.001), negative of death (r=-0.15, p=0.016), respect for life (r=0.33, p<0.001) of nursing students, field practice adaptation and college adaptation (r=0.48, p<0.001) and respect for life (r=0.16, p=0.009) of nursing students and between college adaptation and respect for life (r=0.32, p<0.001) of nursing students. The factors that have effect on the department adaptation of the subjects; As a factor influencing the department adaptation, department adaptation, field practice adaptation, and respect for life were explained by 67.5% (F=171.67, p<0.001). Therefore, a positive attitude toward death and a curriculum related to change in perception must be provided to undergraduates to change the attitude toward death. It is also suggested that research regarding nursing department adaptation effects be conducted after implementing the program to improve respect for life.

The Effect of Adaptation Education on Performance Confidence and Practical Skill of Dental Hygiene Students before Field Practice (현장실습 전 현장적응교육이 치위생과 재학생의 수행자신감과 실무능력에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the degree of improvement in performance confidence and executive ability after conducting field adaptation education to dental hygiene students who start their first field practice. Thirty dental hygiene students were evaluated with performance confidence, indirect and direct evaluation of practical skill before and after the field adaptation education was conducted for 15 hours. Also field practice satisfaction was investigated after field practice. A paired t-test was conducted to compare performance confidence, indirect executive ability, and direct practical ability before and after education. Pearson's correlation was performed on the correlation between field adaptation education and field practice satisfaction. Linear regression analysis was performed to identify the influencing factors of field practice satisfaction. As a results, performance confidence, indirect and direct practical skills of after field adaptation program were increased than before that(p<0.05). The correlation between field adaptation education and field practice satisfaction showed that "education satisfaction" among the field adaptation education sub-regions correlated with "education content" and "support of field practice" among the field practice satisfaction sub-regions(p<0.05). Therefore, it is necessary to develop and management various adaptation education in the future as it increases the adaptability of the first field practice and increases the satisfaction of field practice.

The Effects of Fear of Negative Evaluation, Cognitive Emotional Regulation on Field Adaptation of New Graduate Nurses (부정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 인지적 정서조절이 신규간호사의 현장적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between fear of negative evaluation, cognitive emotion regulation and field adaptation of new graduate nurses and the possible moderating effect of cognitive emotion regulation. The participants of this study were 181 new graduate nurses who have worked for less than 1 year at a hospital, data was collected by using self-report questionaires. The results of this study were fear of negative evaluation score 3.25, cognitive emotion regulation score 3.18 and field adaptation score 2.92. Fear of negative evaluation had a positive correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and a negative correlation with field adaptation, and did not have on moderating effect. As this results, it strengthen field adaptation for new graduate nurses in a new circumstance through self-esteem enhancement programs. It is also required to manage by using an adaptive cognitive emotion regualtion.

신생산기술 실행과정상에 조직 적응노력의 효과성 분석

  • This study suggests the contingency framework understanding the implementation of NIMT and conducts empirical analysis using survey data. The main objectives of the thesis are as follows : (1) analyzing the relationship between adaptation requirements and organizational adaptation efforts. (2) analyzing the relationship between organizational adaptation efforts and implementation performance, and the moderating effect of the adaptation requirements. (3) analyzing the relationship between organizational adaptation efforts and organization characteristics(organization size, technical capability, top management support). A field study was undertaken to test the hypothesized relationships among adaptation efforts, adaptations requirements, organization characteristics, implementation performance. Data were collected from 52 NMT implementation projects of 45 machine tool, metal component firms. The emprical relflts indicated that adaptation requirrnents, organization characteristics were significantly related to organizational adaptation efforts and adaptation efforts can significantly improve implementation perfomance, but the moderating effect of adaptation requirements on adaptation efforts and implementation performance was not supported.

Survey on the Intention to Stay, Field Adaptation, and Educational Demands in New Nurses and Reemployment Nurses (신규간호사 및 재취업간호사의 재직의도, 현장적응 및 교육요구도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the intention to stay, field adaptation, and educational demands between the new nurses and reemployment nurses. This research was done to create a base for a program that will improve field adaptation, and to prevent dropping out or moving. The followings are the results; There was a significant difference in the intention to stay of the 48 new nurses and 48 reemployment nurses (t = -2.10, p = .038), but there was no significant difference in field adaptation between the two groups (t = -1.48, p = .142 ). Finally, the subjects responded with the topics they would most like to learn about emergency patient care. Through the above results, this study provide basic data for developing a program that can enhance the intention to stay in hospital.

  • An essential area is the creation of a single digital market between the EU and Ukraine through information technology. Purpose: to investigate and analyze civil law relations in the field of adaptation of Ukrainian civil law to civil law regulations of the EU. The object of research: Ukrainian civil law and civil law of the EU. The subject of the study is civil law in the context of adaptation of civil law to the legislation of the EU. The following methods of scientific cognition were used during the research: semantic, historical, comparison, analysis and synthesis, generalization. The results of the study show that the harmonization of the legal system of Ukraine with EU law is caused by several goals: successful integration of Ukraine into the EU, legal reforms based on the positive example of EU countries, promoting access of Ukrainian enterprises to the EU market; attracting foreign investment, increasing the welfare of Ukrainian citizens. The adaptation includes three stages, the final of which is the preparation of an expanded program of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation. In the process of adaptation, it is important to take into account the legal history, tradition, features and mentality of Ukraine and before borrowing legal structures to analyze the feasibility of their application in the Ukrainian legal field.

MPEG-2 TS Header Extension for Efficient HTTP Adaptive Stream of SVC/MVC (SVC/MVC의 효율적인 HTTP 적응 스트리밍을 위한 MPEG-2 TS 헤더의 확장)

  • In this paper, we propose the extension of the MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) header for efficient adaptation of multi-layer coded video such as scalable video coding (SVC) and multiview video coding (MVC) in the HTTP streaming. First of all, the limit of the existing TS in terms of flexible adaptation of multi-layer video is investigated, and the signaling by extending TS header is proposed to provide efficient adaptation in a TS level. The proposed extension utilizes the private data field in the adaptation field of TS header to signal scalability and/or view information, which enable us to support diverse adaptation that suits underlying constraints of client capabilities, network conditions and user preferences. In short, the extension enables adaptation of scalable video with full scalability as well as view selection of multiview video in a TS level while keeping backward compatibility with the existing TS syntax/semantics. The performance of the proposed extension is compared with the existing adaptation using PID (packet ID) in terms of efficiency and complexity of adaptation. Furthermore, the increase of TS overhead caused by proposed extension is analyzed and an extension scheme to minimized the overhead is proposed.

Adaptation to Clinical Experience by Older Graduate Nurses who Entered Nursing after Graduation in Another Field (편입과정을 거쳐 입사한 신규간호사의 적응경험)

  • Purpose: With the increasing opportunities for students to transfer into nursing from other departments or after graduation, it is important to examine how these students adapt to clinical work in the hospital setting after graduation. This study was done to describe the adaptation experience of older graduate nurses in hospital settings and to understand the meanings and search the nature of their experience. Method: For this study, the participants were 6 nurses who entered nursing after having graduated from college or university in another field. The data were collected through in-depth interviews from March to April 2007 and analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: The essential themes of the adaptation experience for older graduate nurses were the following 6 categories: taking responsibilities for the expected role according to one's age, following the rules of senior-junior hierarchy, being ambivalent about one's older age, expanding one's support system, getting rid of the concept of age difference and establishing the expected position appropriate for one's career. Conclusion: For older graduate nurses, interpersonal relationship factors were more important than work related factors. Therefore, it is important to create a more flexible nursing culture to ease the adaptation of these older graduate nurses.
