Relations between giant magnetoresistance (GMR) characteristic, magnetic properties and structure were investigated in Cu90Co10 alloy obtained by melt spinning in which GMR was enhanced by appropriate annealing. The structure of the annealed sample is not homogeneous (though the sizes distribution of the majority of Co-particles is not very wide but much larger particles are also present). On the other hand, the GMR characteristics differs from that expected theoretically for identical superparamagnetic particles. It is shown that ther main sources of the observed non-quadratic magnetoresistance dependence on magnetization are differentialted surface to volume ratio of superparamagnetic particles and the ferromagnetic phase contribution to the total magnetization which was calculated applying the new method.
We have investigated the activation magnetic moment, which characterizes the basic magnetic moment acting as a single magnetic particle during magnetization reversal. The activation magnetic moment was measured from each local area on continuous ferromagnetic thin films, by analyzing the magnetic field dependence of magnetization reversal of the corresponding local area, based on a thermally activated relaxation process. It was found that the activation magnetic moment was nonuniform on a submicrometer scale; the fluctuation increased with increasing the number of layers in Co/Pd multilayers. The distribution could be well described by exp($\delta m^{3/2}$), where $\delta$m is the deviation of the activation magnetic moment from the mean value.
This stud deals with the conditions for the Formation of Ba-Ferrite by Hydrothemal synthesis Suspensions Containing either iron(III) hydroxide or hydroxide oxide and barium ians were subjected to autoclavings at various temperatures from 150 to 30$0^{\circ}C$. A ferromagnetic precipitate BaO.$6Fe_2O_3$ consisting of hexagonal plate-like particle was obtained by suitable combination of temperature and concentration of KOH
This study deals with the Benard Flow of Magnetic Fluids in a rectangular cavity which the ratio between height and width is 1 : 4 and the base side or left side is a heating face while other sides are to be cooling faces. When Magnetic field was equally impressed, considering the internal rotation of the elementary ferromagnetic particle, we found the following result from the numerical analysis of the GSMAC algorithm applied to the equation of the magnetic fluid. Benard flow is controlled by intensity and direction of magnetic fields, and critical point appears when especially magnetic field with a heating base and side area near H=-7000 and H=-10000 is applied.

We report the structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the $Ni_{70}Mn_{30}$ alloy prepared by Planetary Ball Mill method. Keeping the milling time constant for 30 h, the effect of different ball milling speeds on the synthesis and magnetic properties of the samples was thoroughly investigated. A remarkable variation in the morphology and average particle size was observed with the increase in milling speed. For the samples ball milled at 200 and 300 rpm, the average particle size and hence magnetization were decreased due to the increased lattice strain, distortion and surface effects which became prominent due to the increase in the thickness of the outer magnetically dead layer. For the samples ball milled at 400, 500 and 600 rpm however, the average particle size and hence magnetization were increased. This increased magnetization was attributed to the reduced surface area to volume ratio that ultimately led to the enhanced ferromagnetic interactions. The maximum saturation magnetization (75 emu/g at 1 T applied field) observed for the sample ball milled at 600 rpm and the low value of coercivity makes this material useful as soft magnetic material.
MgO based nanocomposite powder including ferromagnetic iron particle dispersions, which can be available for the magnetic and catalytic applications, was fabricated by the spray pyrolysis process using ultra-sonic atomizer and reduction processes. Liquid source was prepared from iron (Fe)-nitrate, as a source of Fe nano-dispersion, and magnesium (Mg)-nitrate, as a source of MgO materials, with pure water solvent. After the chamber were heated to given temperatures (500~$^800{\circ}C$), the mist of liquid droplets generated by ultrasonic atomizer carried into the chamber by a carrier gas of air, and the ist was decomposed into Fe-oxide and MgO nano-powder. The obtained powders were reduced by hydrogen atmosphere at 600~$^800{\circ}C$. The reduction behavior was investigated by thermal gravity and hygrometry. After reduction, the aggregated sub-micron Fe/MgO powders were obtained, and each aggregated powder composed of nano-sized Fe/MgO materials. By the difference of the chamber temperature, the particle size of Fe and MgO was changed in a few 10 nm levels. Also, the nano-porous Fe-MgO sub-micron powders were obtained. Through this preparation process and the evaluation of phase and microstructure, it was concluded that the Fe/MgO nanocomposite powders with high surface area and the higher coercive force were successfully fabricated.

In this study, we investigated the electromagnetic properties and microwave absorption characteristics of M-type hexagonal ferrites, which are known as millimeter-wave absorbing materials, according to their calcination temperature. The M-type ferrites synthesized using a molten salt-based sol-gel method exhibited a single-phase M-type crystal structure at calcination temperatures above 850℃. The synthesized particle size increased as well with the calcination temperature. Saturation magnetization increased gradually with increasing calcination temperature, but coercivity reached a maximum at 1050℃ and then rapidly decreased. After preparing a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) composite containing 70 wt% of M-type ferrites, we measured the complex permittivity and permeability in the Q-band (33-50 GHz) and V-band (50-75 GHz) frequency ranges, where ferromagnetic resonance occurred. Strong magnetic loss from ferromagnetic resonance occurred in the 50 GHz band for all composite samples. Based on the measured results, we calculated the reflection loss of the TPU/M-type ferrite composite. By calculating the reflection loss of the M-type ferrite composite, the M-type ferrite calcined at 1250℃ showed excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance of more than -20 dB at 52 GHz with a thickness of about 0.5 mm.
The powder mixture in which Fe-Ni alloy particles of 20 nm were homogeneously dispersed on $Al_2O_3$ particle surfaces was prepared by hydrogen reduction of $Al_2O_3$ and metal oxide powders. $Al_2O_3$/Fe-Ni nanocomposites fabricated by pressureless sintering were only composed of $Al_2O_3$ and ${gamma}$-Fe-Ni phases and achieved over 98% of the theoretical density at the sintering temperature above $1350^{\circ}C$. The highest strength and toughness of the composites were 574 MPa and 3.9 MP$a{\cdot}m1/2$, respectively. These values were about 20% higher than these of monolithic $Al_2O_3$ sintered at the same conditions. Nanocomposites showed ferromagnetic properties and coercive force was increased with decrease of the average particle size of dispersions.
This study deals with the Benard flow of magnetic fluids in a rectangular cavity. The ratio of height to length of the cavity is 1 : 4 and the bottom of the cavity is assumed to be a heating face while the other sides are to be cooling faces. When magnetic field was equally impressed, considering the internal rotation of the elementary ferromagnetic particle, we found the following result from the numerical analysis of the GSMAC algorithm applied to the equations for the magnetic fluid. Benard flow was controled by the intensity and the direction of magnetic fields, and a critical point was appeared when the magnetic field near H=-7000 was applied.
Highly crystalline, uniform Fe nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and encapsulated in zirconia shell using sol-gel process. Two different approaches have been employed for the coating of Fe nanoparticle with zirconia. The thickness of zirconia shell can be readily controlled by altering molar ratio of Fe nanoparticle core to zirconia precursor in the first case where as reaction time was found to be most effective parameter to controlled the shell thickness in the second method. The structure and magnetic properties of the ZrO2-coated Fe nanoparticles were studied. TEM and HRTEM images show a typical core/shell structure in which spherical α-iron crystal sized of ~25 nm is surrounded by amorphous ZrO2 coating layer. TGA study showed an evidence of weight loss of less than 2% over the temperature range of 50-500 °C. The nanoparticles are basically in ferromagnetic state and their magnetic properties depend strongly on annealing temperature. The thermal treatment carried out in as-prepared sample resulted in reduction of coercivity and an increase in saturation magnetization. X-ray diffraction experiments on the samples after annealing at 400-600 °C indicate that the size of the Fe@ZrO2 particles is increased slightly with increasing annealing temperature, indicating the ZrO2 coating layer is effective to interrupt growing of iron particle according to heat treatment.
