To prepare basic data for oral health promotion of high school students through the survey of the recognition of oral health care, a questionnaire survey was conducted for 268 students. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 11.5 with ${\chi}^2$-test, fisher's exact test, t-test and logistic regression. The obtained results were as follows 1. The average of the high school student's oral health knowledge was $13.12{\pm}2.06$. Statistically school girls were higher(pE0.05) than school boy's oral health knowledge(male: 12.91, female: 13.35), tooth brushing frequency(male: 4times or more-15.4%, female: 4times or more-29.8%), and preventive dental visit(male: 8.1%, female: 17.5%). 2. More than 70% of high school students was concerned about oral health. According to the self-judgement of oral health, more than 50% of them was answered that they wasn't sure of oral health. 3. Only 13% of high school students received oral health education and 80% of them recognized oral health manpower's education needs. 4. The purpose of this study was to investigate self-esteem, body image, body cathexis and body attitude of female middle school students. A total of 298 subjects were included in this study. Subjects were classified into weight control group and a non weight control group. As a result of analyzing body shapes satisfaction was higher in the non weight control group 2.83 than in the weight control group 2.28 (p<0.001). The weight control group revealed lower body satisfaction than the non weight control group. The result of the reason for weight control was the ratio of 'weight loss' 84.6%, respectively (p<0.001). Factors impacting physical image of female middle school students were analyzed as friends (3.46), internet (3.22), and TV (3.13). Results suggest that educational program should be combined with a positive emphasis on physical image and self-esteem for female middle school students. Also, there was a high correlation between body weight and self-esteem. Results indicate that female middle school students are interested in weight loss with the wrong body image. Therefore, female middle school students should be provided with an educational approach to such issues so that they have a realistic perception of their body and form realistic values about self-esteem and body.
This study was undertaken to investigate the nutrient intake, dietary behavior, perception of body image and iron deficiency of high school adolescent girls. The subjects were 463 high school girls in Inchon. This cross-sectional survey was conducted by questionnaires and data were analysed by SAS program. Nutrient intakes collected from 3 day-retails were analyzed by the Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis Program. The following anthropometric measurements were made on all participants height, weight, body fat (%), skinfold thirkness, subscapular skinfold thickness, mid-upper arm circumference and waist-hip circumference. Blood samples were obtained and analyzed for iron nutritional status. The mean obesity index of rural students were highest among students. However, over 18% of the urban and rural students belonged to the low-weight group. Proportions of skipping meals were most high in urban vocational students and the main reason was lack of time for meal. Most nutrient intakes of the students were below the RDA, in particular calcium, iron, vitamin A and vitamin B$_2$. Most of the students were concerned with body image and weight control. Also they were not satisfied with their body image. The mean fell hemoglobin and transferrin saturation of rural students were lowest among students. The total binding capacity of urban vocational student\ulcorner were Invest among students. Prevalence of iron deficiency was most high in urban general students when judged by Hb, MCV and serum ferritin. In conclusion, this study indicates that nutrient intake in the female high school students was considerably lower than RDA. They should also be notified that severe weight control is very harmful for health. And they had lower self -satisfaction for their body image and undesirable flood habits. Therefore, prefer nutrition education is required to maintain desirable flood habits and improve their iron status in female high school students.

Methods: The study used data obtained through the 2007 online research on adolescents' health behaviors, targeting a total of 35,228 high school students (18,628 of male students and 16,600 of female students). Results: Seventy six point ninety six percent of the male respondents and 79.67% of female respondents answered their sleep quality was not satisfactory. The subjects who had stress showed significantly lower quality of sleep than those who answered they had no stress. For female students, those who answered they had intention to suicide had significantly lower quality of sleep than those who answered they did not have, but for male students, there was no significant relations between them. There were no significant relations between sense of dispair and sleep quality both for male and female subjects. Conclusion: Factors of mental health related with sleep quality were stress and intention of suicide. The more they had stress and intention of suicide, the significantly lower sleep quality was. Therefore, in order to improve sleep quality of high school students, it is suggested that management programs based on education and counselling with experts should be provided and further studies on other mental health factors and sleep quality should be conducted.
This study classified the type of sole for female high school students and analyzed the characteristics of each type by the shape of the sole (plantar view) using 2D scan data. The data were collected from a foot anthropometry of 310 female high school students in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do. Left feet and right feet were measured indirectly by using flatbed scanner. The sole anthropometric measurements consisted of 24 items. The results of the investigation into the differences between left and right feet soles by the 2D measurements data indicated that there was no significant statistical differences in the length of items. The left sole had higher values than right sole in the width items and angle items; however, the lateral side of the right feet projected to the outside more often than left feet. In analyzing foot sole of female high school students, the shapes of sole were classified into three types. Type 1(41.94%), Type 2(36.77%), Type 3(21.29%). The most characteristic sole type for female high school students was Type 1. Type 1 referred to a narrow foot width with little or no curvature of the toe. Type 2 represented the longest foot, with foot width shown as a spacious and distinctive feature in width at the medial area of the foot. Type 3 represented the shortest and widest of ball width, gathered inside toe 5, and lateral side as the most projected among the three types.
This study examined the relationships between clothing values, wearing behaviors and the attitudes toward underwear for female students. A survey of female middle and high school students was conducted. 584 questionnaires, collected from April to May, 2009, were analyzed using descriptive statistics, cross tabulation analysis, t-test, factor analysis, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Economic and aesthetic value were found to be significantly higher than other clothing values amongst older students while students in coeducational schools regarded aesthetic properties of clothing as being more important (p<.05). Girl students' most pursued attitudes toward underwear was modesty. According to age of students and the type of school they attended there were significant differences in students' underwear wearing behaviors. A high level of correlation between clothing values and attitudes toward underwear was found. Aesthetic value out of the clothing values showed a high correlation with esthetics/sexual attractiveness out of the attitudes toward underwear. Aesthetics/sexual attractiveness out of the attitudes toward underwear was shown to be most influential on underwear wearing behaviors. There would be a necessity for emphasizing the wearing of girdle and slip.
The purpose of this study was to examine and understand the level of vanity and body shaping management and the relationships among related variables. The data were collected from about 140 middle school girls, 186 high school girls, and 194 college female students in Ulsan City using a self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire included questions such as general characteristics of the subjects, vanity, and body shaping management. There were statistically significant differences in the 4 vanity sub-scales except physical concern and the body shaping management among the school groups(middle school, high school, college) and socio-economic status groups(low, middle, high). Socio-economic status, physical concern and view, and age were affected significantly on the body shaping management. The gathered data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and ${\chi}^2-test$ in SPSS 21. Results: The ratio of female students with constipation is significantly higher than that of male students with the condition(${\chi}^2=5.73$, p=0.017), and there were significant differences in exercise habits(${\chi}^2=26.75$, p<0.001), eating habits(${\chi}^2=43.19$, p<0.001), and bowel habits(${\chi}^2=22.96$, p<0.001) between female students and male students. Also there was significant difference in water intake between the normal group and the constipation group(${\chi}^2=10.01$, p=0.040). Significant differences between the two groups were also discovered in the level of perception of constipation(${\chi}^2=98.76$, p<0.001), bowel movement time(${\chi}^2=15.74$, p=0.008), and use of laxatives(${\chi}^2=17.68$, p<0.001) and enema(${\chi}^2=16.97$, p<0.001) for constipation relief. Conclusions: To prevent and manage constipation in high school students, education about healthy dietary, and bowel habits is required. Also there is an urgent need to improve the school toilet environment in order to respect the rights of students to void or defecate when necessary, a process which will require involvement of students, teachers, and other school staff.
