On China's Intellectual Property Rights Protection Online

  • Online people conduct all kinds of business activities, such as promoting the sales of products and services, reading newspapers, watching TV and movies, and sending business messages by e-mail, by e-voice and by e-fax. Computers with access to the Internet are defined by the United Nations as the fourth media characterized by instantaneousness, openness, limitlessness, boundlessness and globalization. With the development and popularization of the Internet and the advance of the information technology in China, Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) violations online have frequently occurred in e-business activities. IPRs protection online has posed a great challenge not only for business managers and officials, but also for judges and lawyers because the rapid development of the Internet has created a legal vacuum governed by no laws in IPRs violation and protection online in China.. The paper at first classifies IPRs into several categories, then reveals China's serious problems and challenges of IPRs violations online and stresses the necessity of China's IPRs protection online. Finally it puts forward some suggestions concerning IPRs protection online.

  • This study examines the recognition of the user's sound command based on speech recognition and natural language processing, and develops the natural language interface agent which can analyze the recognized command. The natural language interface agent consists of speech recognizer and semantic interpreter. Speech recognizer understands speech command and transforms the command into character strings. Semantic interpreter analyzes the character strings and creates the commands and questions to be transferred into the application program. We also consider the problems, related to the speech recognizer and the semantic interpreter, such as the ambiguity of natural language and the ambiguity and the errors from speech recognizer. This kind of natural language interface agent can be applied to the telephony environment involving all kind of communication media such as telephone, fax, e-mail, and so on.

  • The purpose of the Delphi technique is to elicit information and judgments from participants to facilitate problem-solving, planning, and decision-making. It does so without physically assembling the contributors. Instead of it, information is exchanged via mail, FAX, or email. This technique is designed to take advantage of participants' creativity as well as the facilitating effects of group involvement and interaction. It is structured to capitalize on the merits of group problem-solving and minimize the liabilities of group problem-solving. In this paper, we design and implement delphi system using instant messenger.

  • In reverse engineering area, the reconstruction of surfaces from scanned or digitized data is being developed, but geometric model of existing objects is not available in industries. This paper presents the new approach to the reconstruction of surface technique. A proposed methodology finds base geometry and blends surface between them. Each based geometry is divided by tri-angular patches which are compared with their normal vector for face grouping. Each group is categorized analytical surface such as a part of cylinder, sphere and cone, and plane shapes to represent the based geometry surface. And then, each based geometry surface is implemented to the infinitive surface. Infinitive surface's intersections are trimmed by boundary representation model reconstruction. This method has several benefits such as time efficiency and automatic functional modeling system in reverse engineering. Especially, it can be directly applied 3D fax and 3D copier.

  • 현재 육상과 해상간의 통신은 Inmarsat 단말기를 이용하여 전화, 텔렉스, 팩스, 전자메일(E-mail) 및 데이터 통신을 한다. 기존 전자메일 프로그램은 비싼 통신요금과 저속의 위성통신 환경에서 최대한 통신비용을 줄이기 위한 목적으로 개발되었다. 그리고 팩스를 이용하는 경우는 관련문서를 출력 후, 송신하기 때문에 시간과 비용이 낭비된다. 이에 현재 많은 나라에서 Inmarsat을 이용한 육상과 선박간의 서로 다른 네트워크 상의 정보를 공유할 수 있는 방법을 모색하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 육상과 해상간의 전자메일 시스템과 팩스 기능을 통합한 육상과 해상을 모두 지원하는 인터넷 기반의 팩스 서비스 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 기존 전자메일 시스템과 공중전화망(PSTN : Public Switched Telephone Network)을 연결하는 하드웨어적인 모듈을 설계하였다.

  • Railway takes an important role of transporting massive passenger and freight. Accidents which occur related to trains have a risk of serious loss of lives, so those accidents need to be controlled urgently. Therefore moving picture transmission system is required which transmits exact information of moving picture of accident status to CTC and also communication line is also required with it. By using WTB line as a wayside transmission line, railway telephones, fax and train service information are provided to local offices. As transmission line improving project, optical cabling work is being processed by phases. Therefore optical fiber line is more effective way for a communicating way between stations than coaxial transmission line. This paper consider's connecting method when optical fibers is used for moving picture data transmission of train accidents and its problems.

  • Recently the harmonic generation has deteriorated the quality of electricity and affected the performance on the electrical installation including personal computer, fax, community devices and so on. Some studies of harmonic affects in diagnosis and the cause of accident has not done by the experimental data of harmonic source but merely by presumption according to qualitative analysis. So, in order to research the harmonic affect on the electrical installation according to quantitative analysis and gather reliable data over and over again, it is necessary to develop an Harmonic power source which is capable of generating some harmonics. In this paper, we described about realization of Harmonic power source control module which can produce and added harmonics for the analysis due to harmonic effects.

  • 목포, 진도, 인천, 대산 및 여수권역에 설치된 해양기상신호표지시스템은 지속적이고 안정적인 데이터 확보와 데이터 Quality 유지가 중요하며 상시적인 현장점검 및 유지관리가 수반되어야 한다. 정기적이고 체계적인 유지관리를 통하여 주변 환경으로부터 장비를 보호하고 관측정보의 신뢰성을 높이고 장비 장애 및 오류를 사전에 방지할 수 있다. 관측자료의 효율적인 활용을 위하여 홈페이지, ARS/FAX, SMS 등의 서비스를 통합관리하고, 통합품질관리 기술개발 및 서비스 체계 표준화를 통하여 범국가적인 해양기상관측서비스 체계 구축이 필요하다.

An Empirical Study on Critical Success Factors and User Performance of ERP Systems: Small and Medium Firms (ERP시스템 구현의 핵심성공요인과 활용 성과에 관한 실증적 연구: 중소기업을 중심으로)

  • This study identified CSFs(Critical Success Factors) for successful ERP system implementation in small and medium firms, and empirically tested relationship between CSFs and user performance. Survey questionnaires were distributed via email & fax to 142 firms that have implemented ERP systems. Out of 52 responded questionnaires, 46 data sets were available for statistical analysis with SPSSWin8.0. CEO's participation, vendor support & service, securing human resources, effective use of software, and hardware capacity were identified as CSFs from factor analysis. Among those factors, vendor support & service and effective use of software were related to user performance, and the relationship was shown to be statistically significant. Study results also showed that user performance of ERP system was significantly different among those surveyed firms when ERP system package products were used as a simple proxy measure of independent variable.

Hardware Design for JBIG2 Encoder on Embedded System (임베디드용 JBIG2 부호화기의 하드웨어 설계)

  • This paper proposes the hardware IP design of JBIG2 encoder. In order to facilitate the next generation FAX after the standardization of JBIG2, major modules of JBIG2 encoder are designed and implemented, such as symbol extraction module, Huffman coder, MMR coder, and MQ coder. ImpulseC Codeveloper and Xilinx ISE/EDK program are used for the synthesis of VHDL code. To minimize the memory usage, 128 lines of input image are processed succesively instead of total image. The synthesized IPs are downloaded to Virtex-4 FX60 FPGA on ML410 development board. The four synthesized IPs utilize 36.7% of total slice of FPGA. Using Active-HDL tool, the generated IPs were verified showing normal operation. Compared with the software operation using microblaze cpu on ML410 board, the synthesized IPs are better in operation time. The improvement ratio of operation time between the synthesized IP and software is 17 times in case of symbol extraction IP, and 10 times in Huffman coder IP. MMR coder IP shows 6 times faster and MQ coder IP shows 2.2 times faster than software only operation. The synthesized H/W IP and S/W module cooperated to succeed in compressing the CCITT standard document.
