  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅은 네트워크로 상호연결된 프로세서로 구성되며, 하나 이상의 컴퓨터로 이뤄진다. 하지만 관리 시스템의 규모 및 자원의 양이 방대하여 이를 모두 사용자 및 관리자가 관리하는 것은 역부족이다. 이에 대한 대안으로 인간의 자율 신경계처럼 시스템 스스로 주위상황 변화에 대응할 수 있는 능력을 부설하자는 오토노믹 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사람의 간섭을 최소화하면서 예기치 못한 결함이 발생하여도 서비스를 지속적으로 제공할 수 있는 능력을 시스템에 부설하기 위한 자동적인 결함 허용 기법을 제안하고 설계한다.

  • In this study, We developed the microprocessor based controller for Auto Section Switch(ASS). This is installed at consumer's medium-high voltage(load capacity is below 4,000 kVA) switchgear. This function is cooperate with protection device of fault section and automatically dividing the section. And It is designed by Air putter type extinction structure and adopt the mechanism and breaking part module of existing Load Breaker Switch. In addition, We successfully conducted the operation test and checked main function of proto-type.

  • When a fault relating to the urgent alarm occurs, we must prevent control rods from dropping and make one of two grippers in Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM) grip the drive rod taking a control rod assembly. To enhance the reliability of holding control rods, we order two grippers to hold the drive rod. This action is called the double holding. In the middle of the movement of the drive rod, the latching of the drive rod can cause friction between a gripper and the drive rod. This state may give damage to both the gripper and the drive rod. In this paper, we have devised the method which can have two grippers hold the drive rod more stably, without damaging the equipment.

  • The wear test has been performed to evaluate the wear mechanism of steam generator (SG) tube materials against ferritic stainless steel in water environment. The wear rates of SG tube materials depend on the change of mechanical properties between contact surfaces during wear test. From the subsurface hardness test, Inconel 690 is more work-hardened than Inconel 600 even though these materials have similar hardness values before the wear test. Main cause is due to the difference of stacking fault energy with the chromium content. In water environment, wear mechanism is closely related with the continuous formation and fracture of deformation layers at the contact surfaces.

  • An air circuit breaker (ACB) is an electrical protection device that interrupts abnormal fault currents that result from overloads or short circuits in a low-voltage power distribution line. The ACB consists of a main circuit part for current flow, mechanism part for the opening and closing operation of movable conductors, and arc-extinguishing part for arc extinction during the breaking operation. The driving mechanism of the ACB is a spring energy charging type. The faster the contact opening speed of the movable conductors during the opening process, the better the breaking performance. However, there is a disadvantage that the durability of mechanism decreases in inverse proportion to the use of a spring capable of accumulating high energy to configure the breaking speed faster. Therefore, to simultaneously satisfy the breaking performance and mechanical endurance of the ACB, its driving mechanism must be optimized. In this study, a dynamic model of the ACB was developed using the MDO(Mechanism Dynamics Option) module of CREO, which is widely used in multibody dynamics analysis. To improve the opening velocity, the Taguchi design method was applied to optimize the design parameters of an ACB with many linkages. In addition, to evaluate the improvement in the operating characteristics, the simulation and experimental results were compared with the MDO model and improved prototype sample, respectively.

  • Fault localization plays a significant role in enormous distributed system because it can identify root cause of observed faults automatically, supporting self-managing which remains an open topic in managing and controlling complex distributed systems to improve system reliability. Although many Artificial Intelligent techniques have been introduced in support of fault localization in recent research especially in increasing complex ubiquitous environment, the provided functions such as diagnosis and prediction are limited. In this paper, we propose fault localization for self-managing in performance evaluation in order to improve system reliability via learning and analyzing real-time streams of system performance events. We use probabilistic reasoning functions based on the basic Bayes' rule to provide effective mechanism for managing and evaluating system performance parameters automatically, and hence the system reliability is improved. Moreover, due to large number of considered factors in diverse and complex fault reasoning domains, we develop an efficient method which extracts relevant parameters having high relationships with observing problems and ranks them orderly. The selected node ordering lists will be used in network modeling, and hence improving learning efficiency. Using the approach enables us to diagnose the most probable causal factor with responsibility for the underlying performance problems and predict system situation to avoid potential abnormities via posting treatments or pretreatments respectively. The experimental application of system performance analysis by using the proposed approach and various estimations on efficiency and accuracy show that the availability of the proposed approach in performance evaluation domain is optimistic.

  • In recent years, with the rapid development of large and medium-sized urban rail transit in China, the total operating mileage of high-speed railway and the total number of EMUs(Electric Multiple Units) are rising. The system complexity of high-speed EMU is constantly increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety of equipment and the efficiency of maintenance.At present, the maintenance mode of high-speed EMU in China still adopts the post maintenance method based on planned maintenance and fault maintenance, which leads to insufficient or excessive maintenance, reduces the efficiency of equipment fault handling, and increases the maintenance cost. Based on the intelligent operation and maintenance technology of PHM(prognostics and health management). This thesis builds an integrated PHM platform of "vehicle system-communication system-ground system" by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data of different scenarios of high-speed EMU, and combines the equipment fault mechanism with artificial intelligence algorithms to build a fault prediction model for traction motors of high-speed EMU.Reliable fault prediction and accurate maintenance shall be carried out in advance to ensure safe and efficient operation of high-speed EMU.

Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) of the Quaternary Faults, SE Korea: Application to the Determination of Fault Slip Sense and Paleo-stress Field (한반도 남동부 제4기 단층의 대자율이방성(AMS): 단층의 운동감각과 고응력장 해석)

  • The Quaternary faults are extensively observed along major inherited fault zones (i.e. Yangsan Fault System, Ulsan Fault, Yeonil Tectonic Line, Ocheon Fault System) in SE Korea. Their geometry and kinematics provide a very useful piece of information about the Quaternary crustal deformation and stress field in and around Korean Peninsula. Using magnetic fabrics (AMS), we attempted to determine the slip senses of Jinti, Mohwa, Suseongji2, and Wangsan faults and then interpreted the fabric development process of fault gouge and the characteristics of stress field during the Quaternary. All the magnetic fabrics of the faults, except the Wangsan Fault, consistently indicate a dominant reverse-slip sense with weak strike-slip component. Most of the oblate fabrics are nearly parallel to the fault surface and the anisotropy degrees generally increase in proportion to the oblatenesses. These results suggest that the fabrics of the fault gouges resulted from a progressive deformation due to continuous simple shear during the last reactivation stage as reverse faulting. It is also interpreted that the pre-existing fabrics were overwhelmed and obliterated by the re-activated faulting. Paleostress field calculated from the fault slip data indicates an ENE-WNW compressive stress, which is in accord with those determined from previous fault tectonic analysis, focal mechanism solution, and hydraulic fracturing test in and around Korean Peninsula.

A study on service composition for web caching on active network (액티브네트워크상의 웹 캐싱을 위한 서비스 컴포지션에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes an application level composition mechanism called Generic Modeling Environment(GME) for web caching on an Application Level Active Network(ALAN). Web caching on an ALAN requires the application level composition mechanism and a service composition to support adaptability for self-organization. ALAN was developed to solve the problems of the network level Active Network(AN) ALAN has the features of both AN as well as mobile agents. The efficient composition mechanism for the existing AN Projects has been supported primarily for the network level AN. Conversely, ALAN lacks support for the application level AN The existing web caching technology is inter-connected in a manually configured hierarchical tree. Since a self-organization system is intended to be adaptive, web caching for self-organization does not involve a manual configuration or any low-level tuning of the individual nodes of the entire system but requires service composition to support adapting intelligence and fault-tolerance to enable self-organization.

Focal Mechanism Solutions of Microearthquakes in the Southwestern Part of the Korea Peninsula (한반도 남서부에서 발생한 미소지진의 진원 기구해 분석)

  • Focal mechanisms were analyzed for the seven earthquakes which occurred in the southwestern part of the Korea Peninsula from 2001 to 2005. Grid searches are performed to fit distributions of P-wave first-motion polarities and SH/P amplitude ratios for each event. The focal mechanism solutions imply that most of the events have strike-slip sense including partially thrust component. The compressional axes of the solutions are predominantly ENE-WSW or NE-SW indirections. This result is similar to the directions of the principal compressional axes for major earthquakes occurred around the Korea Peninsula.
