An Experimental Study on the Evaluation of Fastening Unit Insulation Developed for the Insulation of Curtain Wall

  • This study is the experimental study to improve the insulation of the fastening unit system, which has the most vulnerable insulation in the curtain walls. The Fastening Units were designed and fabricated to minimize the connection part of mullions. In addition, slight movements were taken into account and the performance of the middle layer was evaluated by forming an insulation layer with the vibration-proof rubber and the silicon to satisfy the mechanical and thermal performance criteria. A total of 10 experiments were performed under various conditions, such as indoor-outdoor temperature difference, type of insulation material, thickness of insulation material, and others. using the fabricated Fastening Units. As a result, the vibration-proof rubber insulation showed the temperature difference of $2.2^{\circ}C-5.0^{\circ}C$, and the silicon insulation showed the temperature difference of $2.8^{\circ}C-4.5^{\circ}C$, compared to the non-insulated Fasteniirature difference, typesng Units. When these results were compared with the psychometric chart graph, the insulated Fastening Unit designed in this study can be considered to prevent the dew condensation.

  • 커튼월의 단열성이 가장 취약한 패스닝 유닛 부분의 단열성을 향상시키기 위한 연구이다. 멀리온과 연결부위가 최소화 되도록 고안하여 제작하였고, 중간에 방진고무 및 실리콘으로 단열층을 형성하여 그 성능을 평가하였다. 무단열에 비해 방진고무 단열은 2.6℃~4.0℃의 온도차를 보였으며, 실리콘 단열은 2.4℃의 온도차를 보였다. 따라서 패스닝 유닛에는 단열층이 필요하다고 판단된다.

4-클립 체결방식을 갖는 모듈러 하우스의 내진성능평가 (Seismic performance evaluations of modular house having 4-clip fastening method)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate seismic performances of a modular house system developed by a simple 4-clip fastening method and double metal assembly made of lightweight metals. In order to evaluate structural and non-structural seismic performances of the system. Shaking table test was carried out with full-scale modular units, and a nonlinear pushover analysis was performed to obtain suitable seismic responses for story drifts, displacements, force resistances and dynamic properties of the system. Through 3D analysis and shaking table test, the current method of lightweight modular metal unit assembly and systems with seismic performance of a 4-clip fastening type modular house were demonstrated safe and effective to seismic design.

  • Fuel Cell Stack performance, which is influenced by the maintenance of a constant internal environment, requires high levels of air tightness. Used for analysis, gasket for fuel cell is made of elastic rubber materials and placed over separator, and shape of deformation of a gasket affects the transformation separator and airtightness while fastening structure. Separator as made of steel sheet isn't broken under pressure but can affect gas and cool water flow by the plastic deformation process. Therefore, it is understood that assembly process is well developed in case distribution of stress and shape of deformation is shown uniformly. This study is conducted on the assumption that a fuel cell maintenance is advantageous in that conditions. In this paper, analyses of unit cell and partial model were performed and distribution of stress and shape of deformation of Gasket and separator were analyzed to evaluate the airtightness while fastening structure.

  • 본 논문에서는 위성용 전자 장비 장착을 위한 인서트의 형태/위치 공차 해석법에 대해 기술한다. 위치 공차를 구하기 위해 순차적 이차 계획법이 사용되었으며, 예제로 다목적 실용위성 2호기 STM(Structure and Thermal Model)의 RDU(Remote Drive Unit)와 OBC(On-Board Computer)의 장착 경우를 해석하였다.

열전달 및 열하중을 고려한 자동차 연료전지(PEMFC) 분리판의 두께 최적설계 (Optimization of Automotive PEMFC Bipolar Plates considering Heat Transfer and Thermal Loads)

  • A stack in the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) consists of bipolar plates, a membrane electrode assembly, a gas diffusion layer, a collector and end plates. High current density is usually obtainable partially from uniform temperature distribution in the fuel cell. A size optimization method considering the thermal expansion effect of stacked plates was developed on the basis of finite element analyses. The thermal stresses in end, bipolar, and cooling plates were calculated based on temperature distribution obtained from thermal analyses. Finally, the optimization method was applied and optimum thicknesses of the three plates were calculated considering both fastening bolt tension and thermal expansion of each unit cell (72 cells, 5kW). The optimum design considering both thermal and mechanical loads increases the thickness of an end plate by 0.64-0.83% the case considering only mechanical load. The effect can be enlarged if the number of stack increases as in an automotive application to 200-300 stacks.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the stress distribution and the displacement happened to the abutment, the prosthesis, and the surrounding structure according to the location of the nonrigid connector, that is, the keyway in the distal of canine and the mesial of the implant in the three unit fixed partial denture. Two-dimensional finite element model ws constructed and analyzed for the stress distribution and the displacement using software ABAQUS(Ver 5.2 Hibbitt, Karisson & Sorenson, Inc., 1992). After finishing the finite element model, the distribution load of 15kg was applied simultaneously to the all cusp tips of the prosthesis and the concentration load of 10㎏ was applied respectively at the each cusp tip of the prosthesis. The following results were obtained : 1. The amount of displacement of the implant was greater in case of the non-rigid connection than the rigid connection, and the more favorable displacement was shown in case of the IKb than the IKa. 2. Without regard to the connection method, the stress represented at the surrounding bone was similar, and the more favorabel stress distribution was shown in case of IKb. 3. The maximum stress was concentrated at the fastening screw and the neck of implant in all experimental groups, and their stress magnitudes were in the order of IKb, IR, and IKa.

  • Recently The automotive industry is trying to increase the energy efficiency by reducing the weight of the car body and engine components as a way to achieve high energy efficiency. In particular, the reduction of the weight of the vehicle through the weight reduction of the vehicle body has the advantage that the fuel consumption and the output can be improved. But at the same time, there is the disadvantage that the strength becomes weak due to the reduction of the material thickness. Therefore, in order to overcome these disadvantages, materials with high strength according to the unit thickness have been actively developed, and researches for applying them have also been increasing. In this study, we will investigate the application of cold rolled steel sheet, which is a lightweight material, to a horn bracket that secures a installed in an automobile engine room. The horn bracket secures the horn on the car engine and is bolted to the outer wall of the engine. The momentum is acted on the bracket due to the distance between the bolt fastening part and the car horn installed on the bracket end side. Therefore, the body part of the bracket is more likely to be destroyed by the influence of the continuous stress. In this paper, design optimization for weight reduction and strength enhancement was performed to solve this problem, and possibility of applying the rolled steel sheet material as lightweight material by tensile test and fabrication was confirmed.

자외선 노출에 의한 Walnut 베니어의 광 변색 방지 연구 (Studies on Photoprotection of Walnut Veneer Exposed to UV Light)

  • 본 연구에서는 자외선 노출에 의한 목재베니어의 광 열화를 방지하기 위하여 변색 요인을 제거하여 그 효과를 평가하고자 하였다. 목재 중 추출물함량이 높고 어두운 색상을 나타내며 고급용재로 사용되고 있는 대표 활엽수종인 walnut을 공시재료로 선택하여 광 열화 분석 및 방지법에 관한 연구에 사용하였다. 베니어 내 발색단을 함유하는 물질을 탈리하기 위해 실시한 알코올-벤젠, 과산화수소 및 차아염소산나트륨 수용액 처리 후 광 안정성 평가를 실시하였다. 광 변색인자로 알려진 추출물 성분의 제거 후에는 색 안정화 효과를 보이지 않았다. 한편, 리그닌 성분을 제거하기 위하여 과산화수소를 20, 30% 농도로 하여 $75^{\circ}C$에서 1시간 처리하였으며, 그 결과 표면색상에 대한 표백효과는 나타내었으나 추출물 용출에 따른 재색 유지가 어려우며 광 노출에 대한 안정화 효과를 나타내지 않았다. 반면, 차아염소산나트륨 수용액을 1, 2 및 3% 농도로 하여 동일 온도 및 시간 조건에서 처리 한 베니어의 광 노출 평가결과, 추출물 용출에 의한 재색변화는 나타났지만, 광 노출에 의한 색상 변화는 관찰되지 않았으므로 우수한 안정화 효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 하지만, 3% 이상 농도에서는 베니어 표면의 거칠기와 손상이 발생되므로, walnut 베니어의 경우 적정 농도조건에서의 처리가 필요한 것으로 사료된다.
