Brief history of home economics education after modern period (GAEWHA-KI) (1900~1945). Education of home economics in our country is known to have been developed mainly through school education by need of women education. The first period is construed "from 1890's until before the conclusion of ULSABOHO treaty, which can be referred to as an inception of the education for home economics by including subjects of sewing and manual arts in the curriculum of EWHA-hakang. The second period is "from the conclusion of ULSABOHO treaty in 1905 until the act of higher education for women was decreed, transition of the education for home economics and major curriculum thereof and the text books of home economics are handled. The third period is "from the promulgation of CHOSUN education act in 1911 until the fall of Japan education of home economics in this period is described in terms of national education under the Japanese colonial rule. The education was first renewed by women missionaries with the onset of "blooming period (GAEWHA-KI)" and school education of home economics far educating women was initiated at EWHA-hakdang in 1896, in 1908, with the pronulgation of the act of higher education for women, major curriculum and subjects were set up and text books of home economics were also compiled. In accordance with CHOSUN education act in 1911, housekeeping and sewing subjects at secondary school were taught 10 hours a week with the emphasis on general education and practical subject oriented training. Home economics under the Japanese rule was so educated as to imbue, students with the sense of nationality by teaching Korean custom and family habits.

A human being as a client has been understood only through a western cultural view so far, now we put forth efforts to set up the concept which is suitable for our korean nursing situation. This paper was reviewed to discover Korean behavior pattern through the concept of the human being in Korean traditional thoughts to keep in pace with above idea and develope the stem of the nursing knowledge. Behavior pattern usually has two aspects, the one is unconscious behavior which conform to old custom and the other is conscious one which abide by a conventional rule. The former was considered through the concept of human being in Tan-kun mythodology, Divination, Tong-hak (Cheondoism) and the latter was Buddism, Confucianism, Sung-ri hak (Human nature and natural Laws), Sil-hak (The rule of Heaven philosophy). Through these traditional thoughts, we can lead Humanity, Present-oriented, Family-focused, Ranking-centered, Fatalism, Projection in Korean behavior pattern and unconscious behavior correspond to the Naturalistic human being, conscious to Societic human being as well. Even though Korean behavior patterns were changed to the times, we found that Korean natural characteristics were remained in the of unconscious-conscious behavior. This point must be considered for caring a client better than anything else in our nursing situiation.
This study investigated the characteristics and changes of Jeongbang-village silk culture Jeollanam-do Province during Japanese Colonial Rule with a focus in on Gokseong-gun & Damyang-gun Jeongbang-village. The results of the study are as follows. First, after Japanese occupation, it changed from a traditional silkworm species, the Joseon Silkworms and the mulberry tree to an improved Japanese species. Japan established a silk spinning mill called Jongyeon Textile factory in Gwangju and Jeongbang Village was formed in poor rural areas. Second, the way of village management consisted of buying a large number of land for mulberry plans and creating mulberry fields as a cheap way to utilize the labor force for women and men in rural areas. Third, since the end of the Japanese colonial era, mulberry fields in Jeongbang villages which the Japanese left, were sold at a cheap price to Koreans. After the Korean War, the Korean government's efforts to modernize the silkworm industry resulted in a continuous plan to increase the number of silkworms. The impact of government policies has also increased the production of silkworms in these areas. However, since the early 1980s, Korean companies have been affected by Japanese economic policies and dumping by China that has resulted in in a sharp decline in their production. In the case of Gokseong-gun and Damyang, the production of silk products was halted and switched to other crops in the early 1990s when the farming industry began to decline.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the revision of the western-styled court costume in the Daehan Empire. For this purpose, 1) historical documents were reviewed, 2) one set of the court costume of Chigimgwan and another set of the court costume of Juimgwan were probed, 3) the photos of people wearing court costume were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. First, the $14^{th}$ Imperial order of "official costume statute" had been revised in 1904, 1905 and 1907 through official gazettes. The last version of official costume statute enacted the more detail than the first rule. Second, the $15^{th}$ Imperial order of "official costume rules" had been revised in 1904, 1905, and transformed into official costume rules reform on $12^{th}$ Dec., 1906. The revision in 1905 made gold embroidery of court costume more simple than the first rule. The form of court costume was totally revised by change of the shape of adjusting on the top in the revised rule of 1906. Third, the revision in 1905 was actually manufactured and worn by the people because it can be confirmed in the relics of the court costume of $2^{nd}$ Chigimgwan in Yonsei University Museum, and the court costume of juimgwan in Kwangju Municipal Folk Museum. The relics made by the revision in 1906 had not been reported until now, but they can be confirmed in the photos left. Fourth, the sovereignity of the Daehan Empire was actually lost by $22^{th}$ Imperial family order which urged the servant having the title of nobility of Japan to wear the court costume of Japan. Therefore, the endeavor of the Daehan Empire which wanted to establish and develop the costume system of modern independent nation was discontinued.
Though the debate of the establishment time, place and characteristic of the first fisheries cooperatives in Korea has been existed, it is clear that they had been established in the neighborhood of Tongyeong during the period of Japanese colonial rule. But the objective, motive and historical background of the first fisheries cooperatives are still slightly vague. To explain and explore that of fisheries cooperatives, over 1,000 articles of media, about 100 document of the Japanese government-general of Korea and the annals of the Joseon dynasty, many of research paper and others were included and refined. Through the result of that process, three core factors were founded that affect both the emergence of fisheries cooperatives and relationship of the them. The first one is about the royal family's fishing area where in the neighborhood of Tongyeong. The next one is Kentaro Kashii who was called king or devil of the Korean fisheries industry and the last one is fishermen and their organizations including fisheries cooperatives. Some of the above and the fishing rights conflict that make a guidance for understanding them has not been clearly mentioned. The result of this study shows that the birth of the first fisheries cooperatives were caused by not only the Japanese government-general of Korea but mainly Korean fishermen's voluntary activity and free will against fishing rights conflict between them. And both of the first fisheries cooperatives had somewhat difference in their constitution of organization and their characteristics but it was a tragic irony that the more exploitation and despoliation were conducted by Japanese government-general and Japanese capitalist the more movement and activity of Korean were frequently and severely occurred. Even though the findings and results of this study would be a proof and helpful material for understanding the establishment and their activity of fisheries cooperatives in Tongyeong, more research and contribution would be need by members of fisheries academic and business world.
Symbolizing holiness, wealth and power, golden color was most effective to express the absolute power of royal family and aristocratic society as well as the beauty of magnificent and brilliant authority. Such golden color was understood as the artistic color formed in the dictatorial society as well as the society under the rule of absolute monarch. Thus, it has been used in the costume that symbolizes nobleness, holiness, brilliancy, ethnicity and future-oriented property. In this sense, the image of golden color shown in contemporary fashion was analyzed as follows in this research: First, showing the future-oriented image, golden color expresses avant-garde, cyber and cosmic future-oriented image by using diverse new materials which introduce the state-of-the-art technology sense in addition to metallic textile. Second, getting hint from the ethnic costume of many countries around the world such as brilliant embroidery using golden-thread, ornament with exaggerated technique such as gold foil, mark and character in peculiar tint, the ethnic image of golden color expressed the peculiar color or materials of ethnic costume, handicraft details, etc in golden color. Third, since golden color is expressed in ostentatious image to which elegance and luxuriousness that looks like the work of haute-couture costume of royal family or sensuality that voluptuously expresses the beautiful body line of women are added, the viewers are enchanted or attracted.

This study focuses on the problem of scheduling wafer lots of several product families in the deposition workstation in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility. There are multiple identical parallel machines in the deposition workstation, and two types of setups, record-dependent setup and family setup, may be required at the deposition machines. A record-dependent setup is needed to find optimal operational conditions for a wafer lot on a machine, and a family setup is needed between processings of different families. We suggest two-phase heuristic algorithms in which a priority-rule-based scheduling algorithm is used to generate an initial schedule in the first phase and the schedule is improved in the second phase. Results of computational tests on randomly generated test problems show that the suggested algorithms outperform a scheduling method used in a real manufacturing system in terms of the sum of weighted flowtimes of the wafer lots.
With an analysis of recent, nationwide data, this study figured out the level of consumers' pro-environmental behavior and investigated tile behavioral determinants in the hight of purchase, use, and disposal of pro-environmental goods. The major results are as below: Married consumers or consumers in their 40s were more likely to purchase pro-environmental goods. Consumers with high income-for example, over 3 million won per month-were less likely to purchase such goods. Married women or 40s/50s consumers tended not to buy used goods. Males than females, non-married than married, employed than unemployed had a higher pro-environmental behavior in the use stage. Furthermore, in the disposal stage, male than female, married than non-married, young than old, and consumers with low income than high income showed more active pro-environmental behavior. The purchasing behavior of pro-environmental goods was supported by both perspectives of rational behavior and social behavior. On tile other hand, the purchasing behavior of used goods was supported only by rational behavior perspective. It is also revealed that personal value perspective, along with the above two, influences the pro-environmental behavior in the stage of use and disposal. Overall, a high level of pro-environmental behavior was detected in such consumers as rational, public rule-abiding in favor of environmental policy, and also in consumers with strong family values or those with less materialistic value.
The purpose of this study was to examine the stressors, coping styles, communication with mother, school adaptation and predictors for school adaptation. The subjects of this study consisted of 354 children. They were 6th grade of elementary school in Taegu city. The periods of study was from march 10, to march 18, 2000. Data were analyzed by SAS computer programme. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The mean score for stressor was 39.91 in children(range 24-72). The higher stressor among three subgroups of stressor was mass media stressor. The degree of stressor revealed to be influenced significantly economic status. 2. The most frequently used coping style was problem-oriented coping style(M=18.94) in children. The degree of emotion-oriented coping style revealed to be influenced significantly family's atmosphere 3. The mean score for communication with mother was 72,44 in children(range 20- 100). The degree of communication with mother revealed to be influenced significantly sex, economic status, family' atmosphere. 4. The mean score for school adaptation was 62.48 in children(range 25-100). The higher school adaptation among five subgroup was rule dimension. The degree of school adaptation revealed to be influenced significantly sex, birth, mother's job, economic status, family's atmosphere. 5. School adaptation were positively correlated with communication with mother, problem- oriented coping style(r=0.40 p<0.001) (r=0.30 p<0.001). 6. School adaptation were negatively correlated with emotion-oriented coping style, stressor (r=-0.16 p<0.01)(r=-0.13 p<0.01). 7. Forward multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor was the variable communication with mother accounted for 15.25% in school adaptation. All variables accounted for 25.55% in school adaptation. From the above results, it can be concluded that teaching mother about importance of communication, encouraging to use problem-oriented coping style is necessary to improve school adaptation in 6th grade elementary school children

The purpose of this study was to examine the features that make residents feel “at home” in ALFs in Southwest Virginia and to suggest further policy and design guidelines for better Quality of ALFs as a “home.” For this purpose, residents' needs, experiences, and opinions of the physical environment, the social environment, and the organizational environments such as policies and programs of ALFs were identified. As a multi-case study, five ALFs in Southwest Virginia were studied using constant comparative methos of data analysis. In addition to face-to-face interviews with 25 residents and five administrators of five ALFs, observations were conducted with personal journal. Overall, the five sites selected presented homelike features showing the philosophy of assisted living which combines housing and services. Each facility was designed to be a single-family house or multi-family dwelling in outside appearance. As a whole, residents felt isolation and loneliness and they did not have active interaction with other residents because of diverse background among the residents. However, all of them had close relationships with the staff. The staff's attitude and behavior seemed to influence greatly the residents' feeling “at home.” Despite the provision of diverse activities by the facilities, many residents did not participate in the programs. Most of the residents agreed that the rule and regulations were fair. In spite of high satisfaction with the facility, many people did not think of their current dwelling as a real ‘home.’ As the biggest difference between living in their own homes and living in the ALF, people pointed out a lack of independence, freedom, and autonomy. Residents of ALFs may have reordered their priorities in their current life situation so that safety, security, and care were more important to them than feeling “at home.” Among the three factors --physical, social, and organizational-- that affect the residents' perception of ALFs as a “home, ” many emphasized the importance of social factors such as relationships with the staff and residents, and social support from their family or friends.
