The Moderating Effects of Display Rule Fairness Perception and Problem-Focused Stress Coping on Emotional Labor (감정 노동에서 표현 규칙의 공정성에 대한 지각과 문제 중심 스트레스 대처의 조절효과에 관한 연구)

  • The moderators that relieve negative effects of emotional labor have been studied such as job characteristics and situational variables. But as reviewing these studies, they focused on the degree of emotional on certain condition, there's no distinction between that degree and moderating effects. So we should focus on the moderating variables as a organizational involvement. In this study, I hypnotized the mediating effect of job stress between emotional labor and organizational effectiveness. Then I explored moderating role of 'fairness perception of emotional labor' and 'problem-focused stress coping'. This study tested these relationships using data from 166 employees of domestic security service company. From this data, I found that emotional labor increases job stress and job stress fully mediates the relationship between individual attitude(job satisfaction, turnover intention). And one who perceives display rule fairer, feels less job stress than who is not. Lastly, one who copes more problem-focused when he/she experiences job stress, have less negative effect on turnover intention.

  • The study analyzes the relationship between job stress, organizational trust, and the job change intentions of beauty industry workers. Three-hundred sixty-nine workers in the beauty industry with longer than three months of working experience were chosen as this study. The study used to perform frequency analysis, exploratory factor and reliability, correlation, confirmation, and structural equation model verification. The following results are as follows. First, job stress had a positive influence. Second, stress related to fairness had a negative effect on organizational trust. Third, organizational trust had a negative effects. In conclusion, organizational trust and stress related to fairness are the important variables. Furthermore, this study suggests that each organization needs to make an effort to increase organizational trust and to relieve stress related to fairness in order to reduce the job change intentions.

Influence of Irrational Beliefs on Job Stress in Kindergarten Teachers (비합리적 신념이 유치원 교사의 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between irrational beliefs and job stress in kindergarten teachers and explore specific irrational beliefs that influence kindergarten teachers' job stress. One hundred ninety one kindergarten teachers participated in the study and completed Job Stress Scale and General Attitude and Belief Scale. Collected data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation Coefficient Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, on the whole irrational beliefs were significantly positively related to job stress. Second, Although Self-Degradation and Demands for Fairness significantly predicted Kindergarten teachers' job stress, Self-Degradation were the most influential irrational belief. Finally the theoretical and practical implication of the results were discussed with the suggestion of future research.

  • This paper considers a new routing problem, successive max-min connection ratio problem (SMCRP), arised in circuit telecommunication networks such as SONET and WDM optical transport network. An optimization model for SMCRP is established based on link-flow formulation. It's first optimization process is an integral version of maximum concurrent flow problem. Integer condition does not give the same connection-ratio of each node-pair at an optimal solution any more. It is also an integral multi-commodity flow problem with fairness restriction. In order to guarantee fairness to every node-pair the minimum of connection ratios to demand is maximized. NP- hardness of SMCRP is proved and a heuristic algorithm with polynomial-time bound is developed for the problem. Augmenting path and rerouting flow are used for the algorithm. The heuristic algorithm is implemented and tested for networks of different sizes. The results are compared with those given by GAMS/OSL, a popular commercial solver for integer programming problem.n among ferrite-pearlite matrix, the increase in spheroidal ratio with increasing fatigue limitation, 90% had the highest, 14.3% increasing more then 70%, distribution range of fatigue.ife was small in same stress level. (2) $\sqrt{area}_{max}$ of graphite can be used to predict fatigue limit of Ductile Cast Iron. The Statistical distribution of extreme values of $\sqrt{area}_{max}$ may be used as a guideline for the control of inclusion size in the steelmaking.

Association between self-esteem, critical thinking disposition, and field practice stress of dental laboratory technology students (치기공과 학생의 자기존중감, 비판적 사고성향 및 현장실습 스트레스 간의 연관성)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to verify the effects of self-esteem and critical thinking disposition on dental laboratory technology students' field practice stress. Methods: The subjects of the study were 198 dental laboratory technology students with clinical practice experience located in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 22.0 (IBM). Results: The average self-esteem, critical thinking disposition, and field practice stress scores were 3.76, 3.50, and 2.40, respectively. There was a significant correlation between self-esteem, critical thinking disposition, and field practice stress. It was found that the higher the self-esteem, the lower was the field practice stress. On the contrary, among the sub-items of critical thinking disposition, when intellectual fairness increased, the field practice stress decreased; however, when healthy skepticism increased, the field practice stress increased. Conclusion: Self-esteem and critical thinking disposition were both found to have a substantial effect on field practice stress. Therefore, various educational programs need to increase self-esteem and cultivate critical thinking skills for a successful field practice and field practice stress relief of laboratory technology students.

Critical thinking disposition, stress of clinical practice and clinical competence of nursing students (간호학생의 비판적 사고성향과 임상실습 스트레스 및 임상실습수행능력)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship among Critical Thinking Disposition (CTD), stress of clinical practice and clinical competence in Korean nursing students. Methods: Participants were 407 baccalaureate nursing students (3rd and 4th grades) in Korea. Variables included CTD, stress of clinical practice, clinical competence, and demographic variables. Data was analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Results: Clinical competence positively correlated with CTD, but negatively correlated with stress of clinical practice. The regression model explained 25.6% of clinical competence. The significant predictors of clinical competence were intellectual eagerness, intellectual fairness in CTD, conflict with patients, and clinical environment in stress of clinical practice. Conclusions: CTD and stress of clinical practice contribute to nursing student's clinical competence. Therefore, efforts to encourage nursing student's CTD, increase stress management skills, especially in conflict with patients, and build a supportive clinical environment should be made to strengthen clinical competence.

Convergent Interaction Effects of Six Worklife Area on Relation between Nurse's Patients related Stress and Burnout (간호사의 환자관련 스트레스와 직무탈진의 관계에서 직무환경 요인의 융합적 상호작용)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the convergent interaction effects of work environment on the relation between patients related stress and nurse's burnout. Data were collected with a convenience sample of 168 nurses at hospital in Seoul, Korea from 1 July to 15 July 2014. The structured questionnaires measured patients related stress, work environment, and burnout. In the results, patients related stress enhanced burnout. The analysis of moderating effect of work environments to relation between patients related stress to burnout showed that high control, rewards, fairness, and value and low overload reduced the influence of patients related stress to burnout. And community had main effect to burnout. Based on these results, it is necessary to develop nurse's work environment improvement strategies for relieving burnout.

The Protective Effect of Fair and Supportive Leadership against Burnout in Police Employees

  • Background: This study investigated the association between fair and supportive leadership and symptoms of burnout and insomnia in police employees. Burnout and insomnia can have negative consequences for health, performance, and safety among employees in the police profession, and risk and protective factors should be thoroughly investigated. Methods: Data were collected in a police district in Norway through questionnaires administered in October 2018 and May 2019. The sample consisted of 206 police employees (52% males), with an average age of 42 years and 16 years of experience in the police occupation. Results: The results showed that a high degree of fair and supportive leadership was associated with lower levels of burnout and insomnia six months later. Fair and supportive leadership explained a greater amount of variance in burnout compared to insomnia. This finding indicates that fair and supportive leadership is a more important buffer factor against burnout than it is against insomnia. Stress was positively associated with burnout and insomnia, whereas quantitative job demands had no significant association with the concepts. Conclusion: Fair and supportive leadership can help protect employees from adverse consequences of stress and contribute to improved occupational health, whereas a low degree of support and fair treatment from leaders can both represent a stressor by itself and contribute to poorer coping of stressful events at work. The important role of leadership should be incorporated in measures aimed at preventing and reducing burnout and sleep problems.

Developmental Tasks During the Childrearing Stage and Second Birth Intentions among Chinese Married Women: Parenting Adaptation, Division of Childcare, and Marital Adjustment (중국 기혼여성의 자녀양육기 발달과업과 둘째 출산의향: 부모역할 적응, 양육분담, 부부적응을 중심으로)

  • Although the globally known one-child policy in China was abolished in 2016, the overall fertility rate in the country declined to 1.3 in 2020. In this study, we examined whether the achievement of major developmental tasks during the childrearing stage was associated with intentions to have a second child among Chinese married women. Based on family development theory, we included parenting adaptation, division of childcare responsibilities with the partner, and marital adjustment as key developmental tasks during the childrearing stage. The participants of this study were 315 married Chinese women who lived with a spouse and a child who had not yet entered elementary school. Data were collected through an online survey in February and March 2021. A multiple regression analysis of the data revealed that a lower level of economic parenting stress, a higher level of fairness in dividing childcare responsibilities with the partner, and a more positive change in their marital relationship after having the first child were associated with greater intentions to have a second child.

A Meta-analysis of variables related to organizational commitment of social workers (사회복지사의 조직몰입과 관련된 변인에 관한 메타분석)

  • This study examined the correlation between the variables related to the organizational commitment of social workers. The research results are as follows. First, the overall effect size of the variable group had an intermediate effect size. Among the four organizational commitment-related variables, the job-related negative variable had the largest effect size. Next, the group of positive variables related to the organization, the group of positive variables related to the job, and the group of individuals related to the individual were in order. Second, among the individual-related variables, experience, gender, and education showed a small effect size, and other factors were close to the small effect size. In the group of positive variables related to organization, all variables except for transactional leadership and organizational fairness, which had a medium effect size, showed a large effect size. The job-related positive variables showed a large effect size only for job satisfaction, and customer orientation and job suitability were close to the large effect size. The turnover intention, which is a group of job-related negative variables, had a large effect size and job stress showed a medium effect size.
