  • This study investigates the effect of seriousness and controllability of service failure on perceived fairness, reliability, satisfaction and loyalty of customers. The result of the study is as follows. First, it was expected that a control-attribute and a seriousness-attribute would have an negative(-) impact on perceived fairness-attribute; however, the result showed that both did not have an negative impact on it. Next, a fairness-attribute of a procedure had a significant effect on trust, and a fairness-attribute of interaction and a fairness-attribute of distribution had a significant effect on trust and satisfaction. Lastly, trust had a significant effect on satisfaction while satisfaction had a significant effect on loyalty. Based of the result of this study, food-service enterprises need to perform a fast process of a recovery to overcome service failure rather than confirming a control-attribute and a seriousness-attribute of service failure. Also, they should set up a process of the recovery in the order of trust, satisfaction, and loyalty and check if this process is promptly carried out.

The Effects of Service Fairness Service and Service Quality on Airline Reuse Intention -Moderating Effect of Value-Orientation - (항공사의 서비스공정성과 서비스품질이 재이용의도에 미치는 영향 -가치지향성의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effect of service value in the effect of service fairness on service quality and structural causal relationship between service quality and reuse intention of domestic airlines. The impact between the variables was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 based on a survey of 320 airline users. The results are as follow. First, all the three factors of airline service fairness had a significant effect on service quality. Second, out of the three service fairness factors, distribution fairness and interactivity, had a positive effect on reuse intention. On the contrary, interactive fairness had no significant effect on reuse intention. Third, airline service quality had a significant effect on reuse intention. Finally, there was a moderating effect of value orientation in the relationship between service fairness and service quality.

TCP Uplink Station-Level Fairness Support in IEEE 802.11 Networks (IEEE 802.11 네트워크에서 TCP 업링크 스테이션 간 공평성 지원)

  • There have been various research efforts to support the fairness between uplink and downlink of TCP streams in IEEE 802.11 networks. Existing methods, which have been effective for the fairness, however could not provide the solution for the unfairness caused by the situation in which a station which is having multiple TCP uplink streams monopolizes the uplink bandwidth. This paper proposes a method that AP allocates token buckets for each uplink TCP station. The proposed method is also able to support the fairness between the uplink and downlink. To remedy the underutilization which may happen under token bucket-based schemes, it allows the movement of redundant tokens among the token buckets. By controlling the token movements, it can balance the fairness and the utilization. Simulation results show that the proposed method is able to support the fairness of the TCP uplink stations, as well as the fairness between the uplink and downlink.

Convergence Study on The Structural Relation among Self control, Fairness, and Happiness (자기통제, 공정함, 행복 간 구조적 관계에 관한 융합연구)

  • The purpose of the present convergence study is to investigate the relationship among self control, fairness, and happiness. It is to determine whether fairness had a mediating role in the relationship between self control and happiness. Participants were 275 undergraduate students. Self control, fairness, and happiness scales were used. For data analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, structural equation modeling analysis were conducted. The present study used structural equation modeling to examine the relation among variables. The analyses revealed that the present data best fit the research model in which self control were directly associated with happiness and mediated by fairness(${\chi}^2(51)=91.723$, TLI=0.919 CFI=0.937 RMSEA=0.054). The results indicate that self control affect happiness directly. And also self control affect happiness indirectly by mediation of fairness. Self control had a positive effect on fairness and happiness. This suggests that it is important to have educational and psycho-social interventions to improve happiness of undergraduate students.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 인터넷상에서의 멀티캐스트 프로토콜의 충돌 없는 전개를 위 절대적으로 필요한 혼잡 제어의 주요 특징을 집어 본다. 혼잡 제어시 반드시 고려되어야 할 사항은 성능(Throughtput)과 공정성(Fairness)이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 TCP기반 흐름과 멀티캐스트 그룹기반 흐름간의 상호 공정성(Intra- Fairness)과 멀태스트 그룹내의 흐름간의 공정성(Intra- Fairness)를 지원하기 위해 수반되는 문제점들에 대해서 이해한다. 전자의 경우, 흔히 TCP-friendly 제어라 하여 많이 연구가 진행중에 있다. 이에 본 논문은 후자에 문제의 초점을 맞춰, 관련 문제를 이해, 분석해 보도록 한다.

Quality Improvement of B-spline Surfaces through Fairing of Data Points (측정점의 순정을 통한 B-스플라인 곡면 품질의 개선)

  • In reverse engineering, existing products are digitized fur the computer modeling. Using the digitized data, surfaces are modeled for new products. However, in the digitizing process measuring errors or deviations can be happened often in practice. Thus, it is important to adjust such errors or deviations during the computer modeling. To adjust the errors, fairing of the modeled surfaces is performed. In this paper, we present a surface fairing algorithm based on various fairness metrics. Fairness metrics can be discrete. We adopt discrete metrics for fairing given 3D point set. The fairness metrics include discrete principal curvatures. In this paper, automatic fairing process is proposed for fairing given 3D point sets for surfaces. The process uses various fairness criteria so that it is adequate to adopt designers'intents.

  • IEEE 802.11 has become the main technology in wireless network. However, in terms of fairness, arise in its use in ad hoc networks. Two independent emitters nodes can easily monopolize the medium, preventing other nodes to send packets. This paper proposes the modified (m,k)-firm scheme which is based on T-MAC to improve fairness. Also, the proposed scheme uses different TA period according to the number of collision in the node. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme helps improve the fairness of the DCF.

Simple Power Allocation Scheme for Data Rate Fairness in NOMA Systems (비직교 다중 접속 시스템에서 전송률 공정성을 위한 단순한 전력 할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we consider a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access system with a base station and N mobile stations, where we assume that instantaneous channel state information (CSI) is available at the base station. A power allocation scheme is proposed to achieve perfect fairness, which means equal data rates for all mobile stations. However, the power allocation scheme using full CSI requires high complexity. Hence, a simple power allocation scheme with low complexity is proposed by using high signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) approximation. The simple power allocation scheme can achieve perfect fairness only for high SNR. However, it needs only the best CSI and the simple procedure to obtain power allocation coefficients. From simulation results, we show that the simple power allocation scheme provides remarkable fairness performance at high SNR.

Exploring the Antecedents of Price Fairness in the Fast Food: A case of McDonald's

  • This study aims to investigate the influencing attributes on price fairness in the domain of fast food service context. As the research subject, this research selects McDonald's business because of its market share in the fast food market. Five attributes are examined to account for price fairness. The attributes are advertising attitude, employee service, waiting, convenience, and brand love. This study performed survey to collect the data. The survey participants are university students because they are essential market segment for fast food business. The number of observation is 299 for the data analysis. To analyze the data, this research used various statistical instruments (e.g., frequency analysis, mean and standard computation, exploratory factor analysis, reliability test, correlation matrix, and multiple regression analysis). Regarding the results, this research identified advertising attitude, employee service, and brand love are influential attributes to establish price fairness of university students. This research could inform the marketing director of food service business to understand university students target better.

The Moderating Role of Attribution in Penalty Judgment: An Empirical Study in the Financial Service Industry

  • Many financial service organizations use various types of penalties (e.g., late payment fee, overdraft fee), often inflicting customer complaints and, in extreme cases, attrition. This study examines how customers evaluate penalties using concepts from attribution theory and literatures of social justice and customer satisfaction/dissatisfaction. The study hypothesizes that both cognitive (i.e., attribution, perceived fairness, disconfirmation) and affective (i.e., emotion) responses influence customer's penalty judgment and tests the effect of moderation between attribution and perceived fairness on penalty judgment. The study uses a cross sectional survey design and collects data using the critical incident technique. The results show that attributions have significant moderating effects on the relationship between perceived fairness and dissatisfaction with the penalty and that perceived fairness, emotion, and attribution have a significant influence on penalty evaluation. The study provides discussion of the findings and managerial implications.
