수직자기기록매체용 Co-Cr 박막의 자기적 특성 개선에 관한 연구 (The Improvement of Magnetic Properties of Co-Cr Thin Film for Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Media)

  • We prepared Co-Cr thin film for perpendicular magnetic recording media with facing targets sputtering system(FTS system) which can deposit a high quality thin film in plasma-free state and wide range of working pressure. The effect of sputtering conditions(argon gas pressure and substrate temperature) on the magnetic and the crystallographic characteristic of Co-Cr thin film was investigated. And the variation of perpendicular coercivity with the variation of film thickness was studied. As a result we obtained the high perpendicular coercivity of 1900Oe and the good dispersion angle of c-axis($\Delta$$\theta$$_{50}$) of 5$^{\circ}$on the film thickness of 100nm for the promising recording layer of perpendicular magnetic recording media.c recording media.a.

  • ZnO:Al thin film can be used as a transparent conducting oxide(TCO) which has low electric resistivity and high optical transmittance for the front electrode of amorphous silicon solar cells and display devices. This study of electrical, crystallographic and optical properties of Al doped ZnO thin films prepared by Facing Targets Sputtering (FTS), where strong internal magnets were contained in target holders to confine the plasma between the targets, is described. Optimal transmittance and resistivity was obtained by controlling flow rate of O$_2$ gas and substrate temperature. When the of gas rate of 0.3 and substrate temperature 200$^{\circ}C$ , ZnO:Al thin film had strongly oriented c-axis and lower resistivity(<10$\^$-4/Ω-cm).

  • In order to develop an ultra-thin CoCr perpendicular magnetic recording layer, we prepared CoCrTa/Ti double layer for perpendicular magnetic recording media by new facing targets sputtering system, Crystallgraphics and magnetic characteristics of CoCrTa on underlayer substrate temperature have been investigated. Crystallgraphic and magnetic characteristic of thin films were evaluated by X-ray diffractometry(XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM). The coercivity and anisotropy field was increased by increasing under layer substrate temperature, c-axis orientation of CoCrTa magnetic recording layer was improved 8$^{\circ}$ to 5.6$^{\circ}$when under layer substrate temperature was 250[$^{\circ}C$]. Also, through annealing effect for CoCrTa/Ti double layer, it was certain that crystallgraphics and magnetic characteristics was improved.

  • In this study, we prepared ITO thin film on the polycarbonate(PC) substrate by using Facing Targets sputtering (FTS) system. After the external bending force was applied to as-deposited ITO thin films with fixed face-plate distance (L), we investigated how properties of those change. As a result, the crack density of films was increasing as bending frequency increased. In accordance with crack distribution, we observed that the resistivity value of ITO thin film increased.

  • We prepared Co-Cr-Ta and Co-Cr-Ta/Ti thin film for perpendicular magnetic recording media by facing targets sputtering system (FTS system). Ti underlayer effects on crystallographic and magnetic characteristics of Co-Cr-Ta perpendicular magnetic recording media have been investigated. Crystallgraphic and magnetic characteristic of prepared thin films were evaluated by x-ray diffractometry(XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) and kerr hysteresis loop measurement. The coercivity and anisotropy field increase by introduced Ti underlayer when substrate temperature is higher than 150$^{\circ}C$. The c-axis dispersion angle and grain size of Co-Cr-Ta/Ti thin film is decrease than Co-Cr-Ta when substrate temperature is higher than 100$^{\circ}C$. Consequently, the use of a Ti underlayer highly orientated can be improved crystallographic and magnetic characteristics of Co-Cr -Ta perpendicular media layer.

  • In this paper we studied that the effect of substrate temperature on crystallography and electrical properties of ZnO thin films. Facing Targets Sputtering system can deposit thin films in plasma-free situation and change the deposition condition in wide range. And prepared thin film\`s c-axis orientation and grain size were analyzed by XRD(x-ray diffractometer). In the results, we suggest that FTS system is very suitable to preparing high quality ZnO thin film with good c-axis orientation.

  • In order to investigate the effect of deposition conditions on crystallographic properties of ZnO thin films by Facing Targets Sputtering system which can deposit thin films in plasma-free situation and change the deposition conditions in wide range. The characteristics of zinc oxide thin films on power, inter targets distance, and substrate temperature were investigated by XRD(x-ray diffractometer), alpha-step (Tencor) analyses. The excellently c-axis oriented zinc oxide thin films were obtained at sputter pressure 1mTorr, sputtering current 0.4A, substrate temperature 300$^{\circ}C$, inter target distance 100mm. In these conditions, the rocking curve of zinc oxide thin films deposited on Glass was 3.9$^{\circ}$.

  • In this study the ITO thin films were prepared by using FTS(Facing Targets Sputtering) system. The electric characteristics, transmittance, surface roughness of ITO thin films were investigated as a function of varying input current and working gas pressure at room temperature. As a result, the ITO thin film was fabricated with resistivity $6{\times}10^{-4}[\Omega{\cdot}cm]$, carrier mobility $52.11[cm^2/V{\cdot}sec]$, carrier concentration $1.72{\times}10^{20}[cm^{-3}]$ of ITO thin film at working pressure 1mTorr and input current 0.6A.

A preliminary study on material effects of critical heat flux for downward-facing flow boiling

  • In this study, experiments of downward-facing flow boiling were conducted to investigate material effects on CHF. Experiments were conducted using aluminum, copper, and carbon steel. It was found that different materials had different CHFs. Aluminum has the biggest CHF while copper has the lowest CHF for each mass flux. After experiment, surface wettability increased and surface became rougher, which was probably due to the oxidation process during nucleate boiling. The CHF difference is likely to be related to the surface wettability, roughness and thermal effusivity, which influences the bubble behavior and in turn affects CHF. Further studies are needed to determine which factor is dominant.

스퍼터링 질화탄소 박막의 트라이볼로지 및 전기적 특성의 기판 온도 영향 (The Effect of Substrate Temperature on Tribological and Electrical Properties of Sputtered Carbon Nitride Thin Film)

  • Using facing target magnetron sputtering (FTMS) with a graphite target source, carbon nitride thin films were deposited on silicon and glass substrates at different substrate temperatures to confirm the tribological, electrical, and structural properties of thin films. The substrate temperatures were room temperature, 150℃, and 300℃. The tribology and electrical properties of the carbon nitride thin films were measured as the substrate temperature increased, and a study on the relation between these results and structural properties was conducted. The results show that the increase in the substrate temperature during the fabrication of the carbon nitride thin films increased the hardness and elastic modulus values, the critical load value was increased, and the residual stress value was reduced. Moreover, the increase in the substrate temperature during thin-film deposition was attributed to the improvement in the electrical properties of carbon nitride thin film.
