Shallow Emitter형 태양전지 적용을 위한 In2O3:Sn 박막층 가변에 따른 광학적, 구조적 특성 변화에 대한 연구

  • ITO는 결정질 실리콘 태양전지의 anti-reflection coating (ARC) 층으로써 적합한 물질이다. ARC layer로써 구조적, 전기적 그리고 광학적 최적 조건의 특성을 얻기 위해는 높은 figure of merit(FOM)를 가져야 하고 결정방향 제어를 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 결정질 실리콘 태양전지에 가장 적합한 ITO ARC layer의 특성 찾기 위해 Radio frequency magnetron sputter를 이용하여 공정 조건가변 실험을 진행 하였으며 높은 FOM을 갖는 ITO 반사방지막을 shallow emitter형 결정질 실리콘 태양전지에 적용하였으며 ITO 박막은 shallow emitter층과 완벽한 ohmic 접합을 이루었다. ITO ARC layer를 적용한 Shallow emitter형 태양전지는 81.59%의 fill factor와 $35.52mA/cm^2$의 단락전류를 보이며 17.27%의 광변환 효율을 보였다.

Ortho-para 수소변환이 수소액화성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of ortho-para hydrogen conversion on hydrogen liquefaction performance)

  • A direct hydrogen liquefaction equipment has been developed and tested, which consists of a GM refrigerator, a liquefaction vessel, a radiation shield, a cryostat, and an ortho-para converter with catalyst. The effect of ortho-para hydrogen conversion on the performance of hydrogen liquefaction has been investigated. The time needed for the hydrogen liquefaction process with hydrogen pressure charge of 4 atm was delayed to around 75 minutes, and the liquefied mass flow rate of the hydrogen was about 0.0150∼ 0.0205 g/s when the hydrogen was liquefied with the direct hydrogen liquefaction system considering ortho-para conversion. With ortho-para conversion, the liquefied mass flow rate decreased up to 20%. Considering ortho-para conversion, there were up to 30% increase in the work input per unit liquefied mass flow rate. When the ortho-para conversion was considered, FOM decreased to be about 0.031∼0.045.

Digital n-γ Pulse Shape Discrimination in Organic Scintillators with a High-Speed Digitizer

  • Background: As neutron fields are always accompanied by gamma rays, it is essential to distinguish neutrons from gamma rays in the detection of neutrons. Neutrons and gamma rays can be separated by pulse shape discrimination (PSD) methods. Recently, we performed characterization of a stilbene scintillator detector and an EJ-301 liquid scintillator detector with a high-speed digitizer DT5730 and investigated optimized PSD variables for both detectors. This study is for providing a basis for developing fast neutron/gamma-ray dual-particle imager. Materials and Methods: We conducted PSD experiments using stilbene scintillator and EJ-301 liquid scintillator and evaluated neutron and gamma ray discriminability of each PSD method with a $^{137}Cs$ gamma source and a $^{252}Cf$ neutron source. We implemented digital signal processing techniques to apply two PSD methods - the charge comparison (CC) method and the constant time discrimination (CTD) method - to distinguish neutrons from gamma rays. We tried to find optimized PSD variables giving the best discriminability in a given experimental condition. Results and Discussion: For the stilbene scintillator detector, the charge comparison method and the constant time discrimination method both delivered the PSD FOM values of 1.7. For the EJ-301 liquid scintillator detector, both PSD methods delivered the PSD FOM values of 1.79. With the same PSD variables, PSD performance was excellent in $300{\pm}100keVee$, $500{\pm}100keVee$, and $700{\pm}100keVee$ energy regions. This result shows that we can achieve an effective discrimination of neutrons from gamma rays using these scintillator detector systems. Conclusion: We applied both PSD methods to a stilbene and a liquid scintillator and optimized the PSD performance represented by FOM values. We observed a good separation performance of both scintillators combined with a high-speed digitizer and digital PSD. These results will provide reference values for the dual-particle imager we are developing, which can image both fast neutrons and gamma rays simultaneously.

Characteristics of Pig Carcass and Primal Cuts Measured by the Autofom III Depend on Seasonal Classification

  • The objective of this study was to investigate slaughtering performance, carcass grade, and quantitative traits of cuts according to seasonal influence by each month in pigs slaughtered in livestock processing complex (LPC) slaughterhouse in Korea, 2017. A total of 267,990 LYD ($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire{\times}Duroc$) pig data were used in this study. Results of slaughter heads, sex distribution, carcass weight, backfat thickness, grading class, total weight, and fat and lean meat percentages of each cut predicted by AutoFom III were obtained each month. The number of slaughtered pigs was the highest in early and late fall but the lowest in midsummer. Only in midsummer that the number of females was higher than that of castrates. During 2017, carcass weight was the lowest in late summer. Backfat thickness was in the range of 21-22 mm. In mid and late spring, pigs showed high 1+ grade ratio (37.05% and 36.15%, respectively). For traits of 11 cuts predicted by AutoFom III, porkbelly showed lower total weight, lean weight, and fat weight in midsummer to early fall but higher lean meat percentage compared to other seasons. Weights of deboned neck, loin, and lean meat were the highest in midfall compared to other seasons (p<0.05). In conclusion, characteristics of slaughtering, grading, and economic traits of pigs seemed to be highly seasonal. They were influenced by seasons. Results of this study could be used as basic data to develop seasonal specified management ways to improve pork production.

Model order reduction for Campbell diagram analysis of shaft-disc-blade system in 3D finite elements

  • This paper presents the Campbell diagram analysis of the rotordynamic system using the full order model (FOM) and the reduced order model (ROM) techniques to determine the critical speeds, identify the stability and reduce the computational time. Due to the spin-speed-dependent matrices (e.g., centrifugal stiffening matrix), several model order reduction (MOR) techniques may be considered, such as the modal superposition (MS) method and the Krylov subspace-based MOR techniques (e.g., Ritz vector (RV), quasi-static Ritz vector (QSRV), multifrequency quasi-static Ritz vector (MQSRV), multifrequency/ multi-spin-speed quasi-static Ritz vector (MMQSRV) and the combined Ritz vector & modal superposition (RV+MS) methods). The proposed MMQSRV method in this study is extended from the MQSRV method by incorporating the rotational-speed-dependent stiffness matrices into the Krylov subspace during the MOR process. Thus, the objective of this note is to respond to the question of whether to use the MS method or the Krylov subspace-based MOR technique in establishing the Campbell diagram of the shaft-disc-blade assembly systems in three-dimensional (3D) finite element analysis (FEA). The Campbell diagrams produced by the FOM and various MOR methods are presented and discussed thoroughly by computing the norm of relative errors (ER). It is found that the RV and the MS methods are dominant at low and high rotating speeds, respectively. More precisely, as the spinning velocity becomes large, the calculated ER produced by the RV method is significantly increased; in contrast, the ER produced by the MS method is smaller and more consistent. From a computational point of view, the MORs have substantially reduced the time computing considerably compared to the FOM. Additionally, the verification of the 3D FE rotordynamic model is also provided and found to be in close agreement with the existing solutions.

1.5비트 비교기를 이용한 인버터 기반 3차 델타-시그마 변조기 (Design of a Inverter-Based 3rd Order ΔΣ Modulator Using 1.5bit Comparators)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성 신호의 디지털 데이타 변환을 위한 인버터와 1.5비트 비교기를 이용한 CMOS 3차 델타-시그마 변조기를 설계하였다. 제안하는 3차 델타-시그마 변환기는 연산증폭기 대신에 1.5비트 비교기를 이용한 멀티비트 구조로 낮은 OSR에서 단일비트 4차 델타-시그마 변조기 대비 높은 신호대 잡음비를 확보하고 인버터 기반 적분기를 사용하여 소모 전력을 최소화 시키며 인버터 기반 적분기 회로를 아날로그 덧셈기로 이용함으로써 전력소모를 감소시키고 회로구조를 단순화 시켰다. 제안한 델타-시그마 변조기는 0.18um CMOS 표준 공정을 통해 제작되었으며, 전체 칩면적은 $0.36mm^2$으로 설계되었다. 제작된 칩의 측정 결과 아날로그 회로는 공급전압 0.8V에서 $28.8{\mu}W$, 디지털 회로는 공급전압 1.8V에서 $66.6{\mu}W$로 총 $95.4{\mu}W$의 전력소모가 측정되었다. 델타-시그마 변조기의 동작주파수 2.56MHz, OSR 64배의 조건에서 2.5kHz의 입력 정현파 신호를 인가하였을 때 SNDR은 80.7 dB, 유효비트수는 13.1 비트, 동적범위는 86.1 dB로 측정되었다. 측정결과로부터 FOM(Walden)은 269 fJ/step, FOM(Schreier)는 169.3 dB로 계산되었다.

재구성가능 연산증폭기를 사용한 저전력 4차 델타-시그마 변조기 설계 (Design of Low Power 4th order ΣΔ Modulator with Single Reconfigurable Amplifier)

  • 본 논문에서는 생체 신호 처리를 위한 12비트 이상의 고 해상도를 갖는 저 전력 CMOS 4차 델타-시그마 변조기를 설계하였다. 제안하는 4차 델타-시그마 변조기는 시간 분할 기법을 이용하여 회로를 시간에 따라 재구성해 4개의 연산증폭기가 필요한 회로를 1개의 연산증폭기만으로 구동 시켰다. 이를 통하여 일반적인 구조보다 전력소모를 75% 감소시킬 수 있다. 또한 kT/C 잡음과 칩 면적을 고려하여 변조기의 입력단과 출력 단의 커패시터들을 안정적으로 구동하기 위하여 적분기내 가변되는 증폭기를 설계하였다. 첫 번째와 두 번째 클럭 위상에서는 2단 연산 증폭기가 동작하고, 세 번째와 네 번째 위상에서는 1단 연산 증폭기가 동작한다. 이로 인하여 두 가지 위상 조건에서 연산증폭기의 위상여유가 60~90도 이내에 존재하게 하므로서 변조기의 안정성을 크게 향상시켰다. 제안한 변조기는 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS N-well 1 poly 6 metal 공정을 이용하여 제작되었으며, 1.8V의 공급전압에서 $354{\mu}W$의 전력소모가 측정되었다. 256kHz의 동작주파수, 128배의 오버샘플링 비율 조건에서 250Hz의 입력 신호를 인가하였을 때, 최대 SNDR은 72.8dB, ENOB은 11.8 비트로 측정되었다. 또한 종합 성능 평가지수인 FOM(Walden)은 49.6pJ/step, FOM(Schreier)는 154.5dB로 측정되었다.

Protein Evaluation of Dry Roasted Whole Faba Bean (Vicia faba) and Lupin Seeds (Lupinus albus) by the New Dutch Protein Evaluation System: the DVE/OEB System

  • The effects of dry roasting (110, 130, $150^{\circ}C$ for 15, 30, 45 min) on potential ruminant protein nutritional values in terms of: a), rumen bypass protein (BCP); b), rumen bypass starch (BST); c), fermented organic matter (FOM); d), true absorbed bypass protein (ABCP); e) microbial protein synthesized in the rumen based on available energy (E_MP); f), microbial protein synthesized in the rumen based on available nitrogen (N_MP); g), true protein supplied to the small intestine (TPSI); h), true absorbed rumen synthesized microbial protein (AMP); i), endogenous protein losses (ENDP); j), true digested protein in the small intestine (DVE); k), degraded protein balance (OEB) of whole lupin seeds (WLS) and faba beans (WFB) were evaluated by the new Dutch DV/OEB protein evaluation system. Dry roasting significantly increased BCP, BST, TPSI, ABCP, DVE (p<0.001) and decreased FOM, E_MP, AMP, N_MP and OEB (p<0.001) with increasing temperatures and times except that when temperature was at $110^{\circ}C$. The values of BCP, BST, TPSI, ABCP and DVE at $150^{\circ}C/45min$ for WLS and WFB were increased 2.2, 3.7; -, 2.0; 1.7, 1.7; 2.3, 3.7 and 1.7, 1.7 times and the values of FOM, E_MP, AMP, N_MP and OEB at $150^{\circ}C/45min$ for WLS and WFB were decreased by 15.3, 25.8; 18.1, 25.8; 18.7, 25.8; 54.6, 41.6 and 82.3% 54.7%, respectively, over the raw WLS and WFB. The results indicated that though dry roasting reduced microbial protein synthesis due to reducing FOM, TPSI didn't decrease but highly increased due to increasing BCP more than enough for compensation of the microbial protein decreasing. Therefore the net absorbable DVE in the small intestine was highly increased. The OEB values were significantly reduced for both WLS and WFB but not to the level of negative. It indicated that microbial protein synthesis might not be impaired due to the sufficient N supplied in the rumen, but the high positive OEB values in the most treatments except of $150^{\circ}C$ for 30 and 45 min of WLS (The OEB values: 54.8 and 26.0 g/kg DM) indicated that there were the large amounts of N loss in the rumen. It was concluded that dry roasting at high temperature was effective in shifting protein degradation from rumen to intestines and it increased the DVE values without reaching the negative OEB values. No optimal treatment was found in WLS due to the too high OEB values in all treatments. But dry roasting at $150^{\circ}C$ for 30 and 45 min might be optimal treatments for WLS due to the very lower OEB values.

RF파워가 SiO2/PES 기판위에 증착한 ITZO 박막의 광학적 및 전기적 특성에 미치는 효과 (Influence of the RF Power on the Optical and Electrical Properties of ITZO Thin Films Deposited on SiO2/PES Substrate)

  • 플라스틱 기판 중에서 열적 안정성과 광학적 특성이 우수한 PES 기판을 선택한 후, 흡습성이 높은 단점을 보완하기 위해 플라즈마 화학기상증착 법으로 SiO2 박막을 버퍼층으로 20nm 두께로 증착하였다. 그 후 ITZO 박막을 고주파 마그네트론 스퍼터링 법으로 증착하여 RF파워에 따른 전기적 및 광학적 특성들을 조사하였다. RF파워 50W에서 증착한 ITZO 박막이 8.02 × 10-4 Ω-cm의 비저항과 50.13 Ω/sq.의 면저항으로 가장 우수한 전기적 특성을 나타내었다. ITZO 박막의 가시광 영역(400-800 nm)에서의 평균 투과도는 RF파워가 40, 50W인 경우 80% 이상으로 비교적 높은 값을 나타내었다. 재료 평가 지수들인 ΦTC와 FOM은 RF파워 50W에서 증착한 ITZO 박막에서 각각 23.90×10-4-1와 5883 Ω-1cm-1로 가장 큰 값을 나타내었다.

  • 인간이 손끝으로 직물을 문지르거나 만질 때 질감을 객관화시키는 노력은 오래 전부터 연구되어져 왔다. 일본의 가와바타는 직물의 역학적, 물리적 값을 측정하여 질감표현을 시도하였으며 가장 객관화된 방법으로 사용되고 있다. 그밖에 여러 방법으로 FOM(Fabric Objective Measurement)에 관한 연구는 유럽과 호주에서도 활발히 진행되고 있다. (중략)
