Involvement of a Gr2a-Expressing Drosophila Pharyngeal Gustatory Receptor Neuron in Regulation of Aversion to High-Salt Foods

  • Regulation of feeding is essential for animal survival. The pharyngeal sense organs can act as a second checkpoint of food quality, due to their position between external taste organs such as the labellum which initially assess food quality, and the digestive tract. Growing evidence provides support that the pharyngeal sensory neurons regulate feeding, but much is still unknown. We found that a pair of gustatory receptor neurons in the LSO, a Drosophila adult pharyngeal organ which expresses four gustatory receptors, is involved in feeding inhibition in response to high concentrations of sodium ions. RNAi experiments and mutant analysis showed that the gustatory receptor Gr2a is necessary for this process. This feeding preference determined by whether a food source is perceived as appetizing or not is influenced by nutritional conditions, such that when the animal is hungry, the need for energy dominates over how appealing the food source is. Our results provide experimental evidence that factors involved in feeding function in a context-dependent manner.

  • In this study, the various supply system of LRE such as a feed-line, an elbow, and an orifice as a part of integrated analyzing has been combined to develop the performance analysis program. Computational analysis has been used to compare the results and to verify the validity and limitation conditions of the performance analysis program by changing orifice positions.

  • 전기철도에 공급되는 부하전류에 의하여 주변의 통신선에 발생되는 유도전압의 크기는 부하전류를 전달하는 전차선으로부터의 이격 거리에 따라 변화될 뿐만 아니라 전력 공급 급전소로부터의 거리와도 영향 관계를 가져서 급전소에 근접된 위치에서는 상대적으로 매우 높은 유도전압이 발생된다는 것을 급전소와 급전소 간에 단위 병행 거리마다의 연속된 유도전압을 측정함으로써 실증하였다. 이는 ITU-T의 전력선 전자유도 평가 지침서에서 제시된 기본 전차선 공급 전류에 대한 통신선의 위치 관계에 따른 계산 시뮬레이션 결과와도 부합된 사실이다. 그러므로 전기철도로부터 통신선에 유도되는 전압을 계산하거나 실측 평가할 때 병행 거리, 이격 거리와 더불어 급전소로부터의 위치 관계에 따른 적정 요율 변화에 대한 고려가 요구된다.

칩마운터의 직진 테이프 피더 설계 및 평가 (Mechanical Design and Evaluation of Linear Tape Feeder for Chip Mounter)

  • This paper introduces a new type of mechanical tape feeder for chip mounter. The mechanical feeder is composed of a pneumatic linear actuator and a linear feeding module with the application of a cam-slider. As semiconductor chips are getting smaller, PCB assembly makers require the feeder to position the chip with high accuracy. The linear feeding system improves the positioning accuracy of the chip by getting rid of the index error, which brings into existence on the sprocket rotating feeder. It also can make greatly reduce the dumping rate. The dumping error is caused by the impact occurred as the pawl to interrupt ratchet wheel rotation. The paper discusses its mechanism and mechanical performance. The positioning accuracy and the dynamic characteristic were measured for long time operation and analyzed. As a result, the feeder showed very good performance. However, the feeding system was dynamically unstable due to the cover film eliminator that is required to be modified

  • 액체산소를 작동유체로 하여 추진제 공급배관에 대한 충진 및 대기 시험을 수행하였다. 추진제 공급 시스템은 추진제 탱크의 출구에 필터가 장착된 형상이다. 추진제의 충진이 완료된 후 대기 과정동안 액체산소의 증발과 이것이 시스템의 재순환 성능에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 추진제의 충진 속도와 탱크 얼리지의 압력이 배관 내 액체산소의 상태에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 필터의 장착 위치로 인해 대기 과정동안 배관 내부에서 geysering 현상은 발생하지 않았다.

유리접지면 최적화를 통한 글래스 안테나의 성능 향상 기법 (The Method of Performance Improvement for On-Glass Antennas by Optimizing the Surface of the Window Ground)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량 후면 유리에 여러 주파수 대역의 안테나를 집적화할 수 있는 유리접지를 이용한 안테나 급전 방법을 제안하였다. 유리접지가 가능하도록 동축 선로를 유리접지면에 직접 연결할 수 있는 어댑터를 설계하였으며, 차체 접지 방식과 반사 손실을 비교 분석하였다. Azimuth 방향에서 높은 복사 이득을 얻기 위해 유리 접지의 크기와 위치를 최적화 하였으며, 도출된 유리접지면을 이용하여 삼각 패치 형상의 WiBro 안테나를 상용세단의 후면 유리에 인쇄하고 반사 손실과 복사 패턴 성능을 측정하였다. 제안된 유리접지를 이용한 급전 방식은 차체 접지를 이용한 급전 방식과 유사한 반사 손실을 보이며, 2 dB 높은 azimuth 복사 이득이 나타내었다. 측정 결과, 제안된 유리접지면을 이용한 안테나 급전 방식을 이용하면 여러 주파수에서 동작하는 다양한 형태의 온-글래스 안테나를 후면 유리에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • An anti-swing controller for an overhead crane in the stop position is designed. The developed anti-swing controller improves on the poor damping characteristics of overhead crane by feeding back the crane acceleration as a function of swing angular speed. The experimental results show that this crane using the proposed controller yields small stop position error and rapid damping response characteristics.

Temperature Field and Cooling Rate of Laser Cladding with Wire Feeding

  • Temperature field and cooling rate are important parameters to influence the properties of clad layer and the heat affected zone. In this paper the temperature field and cooling rate of laser cladding are studied by a two-dimensional time-dependent finite element model. Experiment has been carried out by Nd:YAG laser cladding with wire feeding. Research results indicate that at the beginning of cladding, the width and depth of melt pool increase with cladding time. The cooling rate is related to position, cladding time, cladding speed, and preheating temperature. The temperature near melt pool changes rapidly while the temperature far from melt pool changes slowly. With the increase of cladding time, cooling rate decreases. The further the distance from the melt pool, the lower the temperature and the slower the cooling rate. The faster the cladding speed, the faster the cooling rate. The higher the preheating temperature, the slower the cooling rate. The FEM results coincide well with the experiment results.

  • The high speed line and conventional line are a single-phase AC feeding system; and power supplies of different phases meet at SS(SubStation)s or SP(Sectioning Post)s. These sections should be negotiated with the main circuit breaker in the traction vehicle switched off, whereby the length of the neutral zone prevents the pantographs shunting adjacent overhead line section. In order for electric railway vehicles to make power running there, there must be a power supply changeover section (approx. for 1km), where a changeover switch changes a power supply to the other power supply of a train running direction sequentially. For a thorough changeover switching control, the precise train position detection is necessarily required. In this paper, to realize the ground-based train position detection method, configuration scheme of train position detection equipment is suggested by using track circuit and axle counter.

  • An inductive sensor system is proposed to detect the gear location and angular position of a geared shaft for automatic feeding of the shaft into the proper cutting position of the other end. The system consists of two set of coils, bridge circuit, signal condition circuit, and microprocessor. The coil sensors of the system measure changes of inductance along with the surface position of a geared shaft. The inductance changes are transformed to voltages by the bridge circuit, which are then conditioned and processed for the recognition of the gear. In order to incorporate with the experimental results with the sensor system, a finite element method (FEM) simulation for the magnetic field between the sensor and the shaft was carried out. The predicted results and the experiments revealed that the sensor system was appropriate for sensing the position of gear and the angular position of gear tooth of a geared shaft.
