Study on Thermal behavior of Flexible CIGS Thin Film Solar Cell on Fe-Ni Alloy Substrates using Finite Element Analysis (유한요소해석을 이용한 CIGS 박막 태양전지용 Fe-Ni 합금 기판재 열적 거동 연구)

  • What causes the transformation of a solar cell is the behavior difference of thermal expansion occurred between the substrate and the layer of semiconductor used in the solar cell. Therefore, the substrate has to possess a behavior of thermal expansion that is similar with that of semiconductor layer. This study employed electroforming to manufacture Fe-Ni alloy materials of different compositions. To verify the result from a finite element analysis, a two-dimensional Mo substrate was calculated and its verification experiment was conducted. The absolute values from the finite element analysis of Mo/substrate structure and its verification experiment showed a difference. However, the size of residual stress of individual substrate compositions had a similar tendency. Two-dimensional CIGS/Mo/$SiO_2$/substrate was modeled. Looking into the residual stress of CIGS layer occurred while the temperature declined from $550^{\circ}C$ to room temperature, the smallest residual stress was found with the use of Fe-52 wt%Ni substrate material.

  • In this study, a tensile test and FE analysis were conducted on a bolt-connected L-shaped flange to evaluate its behavior and load resistance. A total of five specimens were manufactured using the inner and outer distances and bolt diameters of the L-type flange as experimental variables. As a result of the tensile test of the L-shaped flange, as the internal and external length ratio (b/a) increased, the maximum load decreased and the maximum displacement increased. As the diameter (d) of the bolt increased, the maximum load and the deformation of the wall increased. The shapes of the destruction specimens showed two forms of destruction: one due to the fall of the nut and the surrender of the bolt as the thread of the bolt and nut was worn out, followed by the surrender of the wall. As a result of FE analysis, it was found that elasto-plastic model (EPM) analysis similarly tracks the behavior of the tensile test results.

  • Effect of isothermal aging on the crystallization of $Fe_{78}B_{13}Si_{9}$ metallic glass has been investigated by electrical resistivity, X-ray measurements, bending test, thermal analysis and transmission electron microscopy. Amorphous $Fe_{78}B_{13}Si_{9}$ alloy was annealed isothermally for 5 to 1200 mon. between 300 C and 540 C. It has been found that close relation between relative resistivity and X-ray diffraction pattern showed. The crystalline peak of $\alpha$-(Fe, Si) and Fe$_2$B are detected by X-ray experiment. The crystalline phases observed by TEM show $\alpha$-(Fe, Si) and Fe$_3$B with dendritic and cylindrical morphology, respectively. It has been also found that the embrittleness of aged samples rapidly increased with the crystallization and was shown before the crystallization.th the crystallization and was shown before the crystallization.

LEED I/V Curve Analysis of O/Fe(100) and MgO/Fe(100) System (O/Fe(100) and MgO/Fe(100) 계의 LEED I/V curve 분석)

  • We have analyzed the atomic structure of O/Fe(100) and interface atomic structure of MgO deposited on Fe(100) surface using LEED I/V curve analysis. As the O adsorption on the Fe(100) surface, the first substrate interlayer distance is expanded by up to 16%. For 1ML MgO deposited on Fe(100) surface, the oxygen ions of MgO are located on-top of the Fe atoms, the interlayer distance at the MgO/Fe interface are expanded. From the AIA(average intensity mixing approximation) calculation, we find the interface structure of monolayer MgO on Fe(100) system has the two interface structure with MgO/FeO/Fe(100) and MgO/Fe(100). This supports the results of EELS experiment that shown existence of stretched FeO layer and coexistance of MgO/FeO/Fe(100) and MgO/Fe(100) structure.

  • In this study, squeal noise with respect to pressure variation is measured by a lab-scaled brake dynamometer and estimated by a complex finite element (FE) eigenvalue analysis. From the FE eigenvalue sensitivity analysis, unstable frequencies occur due to a mode-coupling mechanism and are found to change with variation in contact stiffness. In the experiment, squeal frequencies near 1 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 3.5 kHz, and 4 kHz are increased with pressure variation. The sensitivity of squeal modes to contact stiffness variation obtained from the FE analysis is shown to approximate the variation of squeal frequencies under pressure variation in the experiment.

  • Two-step thermochemical cycle using ferrite-oxide($Fe_2O_4$) device was investigated. The $H_2O$(g) was converted into $H_2$ in the first experiment which was performed using a dish type solar thermal system. However the experiment was lasted only for 2 cycles because the metal oxide device was sintered and broken down. Another problem was that the reaction was taken place mainly on a side of the metal oxide device. The m-$ZrO_2$, which was widely known as a material preventing sintering, was applied on the metal oxide device. The ferrite loading rate and the thickness of the metal oxide device were increased from 10.67wt% to 20wt% and from 10mm to 15mm, respectively. The chemical reactor having two inlets was designed in order to supply the reactants uniformly to the metal oxide device. The second-experiment was lasted for 5 cycles, which was for 6 hours. The total amount of the $H_2$ production was 861.30ml. And cerium oxide($CeO_2$) device was used for increasing $H_2$ production rate. $CeO_2$ device had low thermal resistance, however, more $H_2$ production rate than $Fe_2O_4$ device.

Isomorphous Substitution of Fe in Sodalite and Its Electric Characterization

  • Experiment on isomorphous substitution of Al by Fe in sodalite framework was carried out using dry way method at 800-900$^{\circ}$C in nitrogen atmosphere. The substitution of Fe was possible up to 25 mole% with some deviation of symmetry in sodalite cage. The cubic unit cell parameter increased with increasing Fe content. It showed ionic semiconducting property, especially the highest conductivity and the lowest activation energy in 10 mole% Fe-substituted sodalite which could behave as a superionic conductor at above 400$^{\circ}$C. When more Fe was introduced into sodalite the electronic conductivity was improved at high temperature. But the relative electronic contribution was found to be lower compared with ionic contribution at high temperature. In infrared spectra some major absorption bands of sodalite shifted to lower wave numbers due to heavier Fe atoms substitution in Al lattice sites.

  • This paper describes a procedure to improve road noise using DPDS estimation. We can estimate a body local stiffness at chassis mounting point where the path of road input vibration by DPDS with experiment and FE simulation. DPDS result from FE model has a good correlation with experiment data. FE model DPDS shows weak points among chassis mounting points. Body panel thickness and shape were changed to meet DPDS target. Improved DPDS of critical points makes a road noise level lower.

Prediction of Drawing Load in the Shape Drawing Process (이형인발공정 하중예측에 관한 연구)

  • The prediction of drawing load is very important in the drawing process. However, it is not easy to calculate the drawing load for the shape drawing process through a theoretical model because of a complex arbitrary final cross section shape. The purpose of this study is to predict drawing load in shape drawing process. The cross section of product is divided with small angle as much as similar with fan-shape. The drawing load of each section was calculated by theoretical model of round to round drawing process. And the shape drawing load was determined by summation of drawing load of each section. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through the FE analysis and shape drawing experiment. It had a good agreement between proposed method, FE analysis and experiment within about 3% errors.

  • It is very important that there are saving resource and energy in the future as well as in these day. Weight saving of structural parts, which are formed by extrusion, plays a key role in manufacturing field. Especially these aluminum parts used in the car need other processes to vary the cross section in the axial direction. Thus, applications of these parts are limited by high cost. if the cross section of the parts is variable by only extrusion, application of extruded aluminum parts will more increase. Therefore, a new CNC extruder which can control the section area of a car part was invented the nation's first. Using the extrusion machine, the experiment and FE analysis were performed during the varied section extrusion process.
