F0 변화율로 본 한국어 억양 패턴의 음향 특성 (Korean Intonation Patterns from the Viewpoint of F0 Percentage Change)

  • Previous researches on Korean intonation have been mainly focused on $F_0$ target frequencies, $F_0$ slope, and the duration of intonation patterns. This study investigated Korean intonation patterns, both boundary and phrasal tones, in relation to the $F_0$ percentage change between pitch targets. We measured the percentage change between the pitch targets of both boundary and phrasal tones. Additionally, the $F_0$ change between the preceding pitch target and the first pitch target of the boundary tone and the $F_0$ targets of the sequence of two LH phrasal tones ('LH + LH') were also measured. Two phrasal tones, LHLH and HLH, were compared with 'LH + LH' and the 'HLH' in the LHLH pattern respectively. We found that the percentage change between pitch targets in the phrasal tone is fixed to some extent. This helped explain why the slope of the phrasal tone is closely related to the number of syllables and the duration of the phrasal tone as discussed in previous studies. Since we analyzed the intonation patterns with the utterances from a large speech corpus, the results of this paper are expected to be used in building a larger annotated corpus of Korean.

Genetic Variations and Phylogenetic Relationships of Tribe Forsythieae (Oleaceae) Based on RAPD Analysis

  • RAPD analysis was performed to discuss the taxonomic status and phylogenetic relationships among the tribe Forsythieae and related groups. Two hundred and eighteen scorable polymorphic bands were detected from fourteen oligonucleotide primers. From the results of RAPD analysis by Nei and Li's genetic distance, each individuals of Abeliophyllum distichum showed high genetic relationships with ranging from 0.085 to 0.301, also the genus Forsythia showed from 0.042 to 0.655 among the species and populations. But, Abeliophyllum and Forsythia showed distinct dissimilarity, ranging from 0.610 to 1.258. And genetic differences among the population of Forsythia were 0.042 in F. koreana, 0.275 in F. saxatilis, 0.275 in F. ovata, 0.279 in F. nakaii, and 0.249 in F. viridissima. The UPGMA phenogram of tribe Forsythieae based on the results of RAPD analysis were presented that Abeliophyllum is distinct genus different from Forsythia. NJ tree which applied as the outgroups Fontanesia and Jasminum was derived, and it showed that tribe Forsythieae might be a monophyletic group. The genus Fontanesia was showed as sister group of tribe Forsythieae. Among the populations of taxa in Forsythia, F. koreana and F. saxatilis were more closely related, and F. ovata and F. nakaii were very closely related to F.japonica. And Fontanesia was the sister group of tribe Forsythieae.

The fundamental frequency (f0) distribution of American speakers in a spontaneous speech corpus

  • The fundamental frequency (f0), representing an acoustic measure of vocal fold vibration, serves as an indicator of the speaker's emotional state and language-specific pattern in daily conversations. This study aimed to examine the f0 distribution in an English corpus of spontaneous speech, establishing normative data for American speakers. The corpus involved 40 participants engaging in free discussions on daily activities and personal viewpoints. Using Praat, f0 values were collected filtering outliers after removing nonspeech sounds and interviewer voices. Statistical analyses were performed with R. Results indicated a median f0 value of 145 Hz for all the speakers. The f0 values for all speakers exhibited a right-skewed, pointy distribution within a frequency range of 216 Hz from 75 Hz to 339 Hz. The female f0 range was wider than that of males, with a median of 113 Hz for males and 181 Hz for females. This spontaneous speech corpus provides valuable insights for linguists into f0 variation among individuals or groups in a language. Further research is encouraged to develop analytical and statistical measures for establishing reliable f0 standards for the general population.

LPS로 유발한 간손상 마우스에서 항산화 및 항염증 효능을 통한 천마와 증숙 발효 천마의 간보호 효과 (Protective effects of Gastrodia rhizoma and steamed & fermented Gastrodiae rhizoma with anti-oxidant efficacy and suppression of NFκB signaling pathway on LPS-induced liver injury)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 증숙 및 발효과정을 거친 천마추출물이 LPS로 유도된 간 손상에 미치는 효능을 평가하고자 하였다. 증숙 횟수 및 발효균을 달리한 25가지 시료 중 DPPH와 ABTS 라디칼 소거능을 측정하여 생 천마(GR0F0)와 6회 증숙한 후, Saccharomyces cerevisiae균으로 발효한 GR6F4간의 비교실험이 가능할 것으로 사료되었다. 마우스는 6마리씩 4그룹(정상군, 대조군, GR0F0 투여군, GR6F4투여군)으로 나누어 실험을 진행하였다. LPS를 투여하기 전, 각 시료를 200 mg/kg/day로 8일간 경구 투여하였으며, 간 손상을 유발하기 위하여 LPS를 20 mg/kg로 복강투여하였다. 혈액에서 AST, ALT를 측정한 결과, 대조군에서 그 수치가 증가하였고, GR6F4군에서 감소하였을 뿐 아니라, 혈액 및 간에서 측정한 ROS 수치 또한 유의하게 감소하였다. 간조직에서 AP-1, COX-2, TNF-${\alpha}$와 INOS를 측정한 결과, GR0F0 또한 감소하였으나, 증숙 및 발효과정을 거친 GR6F4군에서 더욱 큰 효과를 보이는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과들은 GR6F4의 뛰어난 항산화 및 항염증 효과를 증명하며, 그러므로 증숙 및 발효과정을 거친 천마는 간 손상에 보호효과가 있다고 보여진다.

Effects of the dietary digestible fiber-to-starch ratio on pellet quality, growth and cecal microbiota of Angora rabbits

  • Objective: Substituting starch with digestible fiber (dF) can improve digestive health of rabbits and reduce costs. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a criterion for dF and starch supply. Effects of the dietary dF-to-starch ratio on pellet quality, growth and cecal microbiota of Angora rabbits were evaluated. Methods: Five isoenergetic and isoproteic diets with increasing dF/starch ratios (0.59, 0.66, 0.71, 1.05, and 1.44) were formulated. A total of 120 Angora rabbits with an average live weight of 2.19 kg were randomly divided into five groups with four replicates. At the end of 40 day feeding trial, cecal digesta were collected to analyse microbiota. Results: The results showed that the dF/starch ratio had linear effects on pellet variables (p<0.01). When the dF/starch ratio was 1.44, the pellets had the lowest powder and highest durability. The dF/starch ratio had unfavorable linear effects on growth variables (p<0.001). When analyzed by quadratic regression, the optimal dF/starch ratios for average weight gain and feed/gain were 0.59 and 0.74, respectively. There were differences in wool yield, fiber length and fiber diameter caused by the dF/starch ratio (p<0.05), and the dF/starch ratios that ranged from 0.66 to 1.06 were appropriate for good results. The cecal microbiota operational taxonomic unit (OTU) number index in the 1.05 dF/starch treatment was higher than that in the 0.66 and 0.71 dF/starch treatments. The higher dF/starch ratio resulted in a higher cecal microbiota OTU number index (p<0.05). The proportion of Ruminococcus in the 0.71 dF/starch treatment was higher than that in the 0.59 dF/starch treatment (p<0.05) Conclusion: The most suitable dF/starch ratio for feed pellet quality is 1.44, and for rabbit growth the optimal range of ratios is from 0.59 to 0.74. With combination of the wool growth, output cost, and cecal microbiota, we suggest that a dietary dF/starch ratio ranging from 0.74 to 1.06 is optimal.

Quality characteristics of retort samgyetang marinated with different levels of soy sauce and processed at different F0 values

  • The aim of this study was to develop retorted samgyetang marinated with different levels of soy sauce and processed at different F0 (thermal death time at 121℃) values. The tested marinade series comprised different percentages of soy sauce in water (0%, 25%, and 50% [w/w]) containing a fixed concentration of sodium tripolyphosphate (0.3% [w/w]). Following marination, samgyetang was prepared and subjected to retort processing, until an F0 value of either 8 or 29 was achieved. Meat quality analysis of the breast meat, sensory evaluation, and aroma analysis were performed as indicators of acceptability. The meat pH decreased as the soy sauce content increased, regardless of the F0 value. The shear force value significantly decreased as the concentration of soy sauce increased, but increased as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). Lipid oxidation was not affected by marination, but increased significantly as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). The proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased significantly (p < 0.05) as the F0 value increased. The total alkane content decreased as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). Changes in the total volatile sulfur compound and 2-butyl-1-octanol content were affected by soy sauce marination. Marination using 25% soy sauce and retort sterilization, until an F0 value of either 8 or 29 was achieved, improved the acceptability of samgyetang. Therefore, marination using 25% soy sauce and retort sterilization until an F0 value of 8 is the process recommended for developing a soy sauce-flavored, retorted samgyetang product of acceptable quality.

표준 중국어의 경계억양에 관한 연구 (Study of Boundary Tone in Mandarin Chinese)

  • This paper is phonetic study of $F_{0}$ range and boundary tone in Mandarin Chinese. The production data from 6 Chinese speakers show that there are declination, pitch resetting and tonal variation of boundary tone. In declarative sentence, $F_{0}$ declines gradually over the utterance but mid-sentence boundary prevents $F_{0}$ of following syllable from declining because of pitch resetting. $F_{0}$ range of syllable is expanded before the mid- and final sentence boundaries. In interrogative one, $F_{0}$ ascends gradually over the utterance and mid-sentence boundary makes $F_{0}$ of following syllable rise more. $F_{0}$ range of sentence final syllable is expanded and $F_{0}$ contour shows rising curve.

3D 프린팅용 SHCC의 흐름값과 1축 인장 특성에 미치는 섬유 혼입률의 영향 (Effect of Fiber Volume Fractions on Flow and Uniaxial Tension Properties of 3D Printed SHCC)

  • 이 연구는 PVA 섬유로 보강된 변형경화형 시멘트 복합재료(SHCC)의 3D 프린팅 특성을 조사하였다. 섬유 혼입률(Vf)의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 섬유 혼입률이 다른 F1.0 (Vf=1.0%), F1.5 (Vf=1.5%), F1.8 (Vf=1.0%) 등의 3가지 SHCC 배합을 제작하였다. F1.5와 F1.8 배합이 다중 미세균열 발생을 위한 이론적 필수 조건을 충족하는 것으로 나타났으며, 섬유 혼입률이 높을수록 필수 조건은 더 쉽게 충족되었다. 3가지 SHCC 배합의 흐름값은 120~160의 범위 내에 있어 3D 프린팅 가능한 범주에 있음을 확인하였다. 한편, 섬유 혼입률이 증가할수록 흐름값은 감소하였다. 3D 프린터로 출력된 SHCC 표면의 육안 관찰 결과, F1.0 혼합물은 Level-3 등급으로, F1.5와 F1.8 혼합물은 Level-2 등급으로 평가되었다. 섬유 혼입률이 높을수록 표면 품질이 저하 되어, 추후 연구를 통하여 보다 높은 품질의 3D 프린팅용 SHCC를 제작하기 위한 배합 조정이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 1축 인장 거동을 살펴본 결과, F1.0 혼합물은 낮은 변형률에서 파괴된 반면, F1.5와 F1.8 혼합물은 다중 미세균열이 발생하면서 우수한 인장변형률 경화거동을 나타내었다.

레토르트 삼계탕의 F0값 수준에 따른 품질 차이 (Quality differences of retorted Samgyetangs as affected by F0-value levels)

  • 국내 삼계탕 제조업체에서의 스팀식 레토르트기내 위치별 $F_0$ 분포를 조사하고 이에 따라 시료를 3가지 $F_0$값(10~20, 20~30, 및 >30) 수준으로 구분하여, 처리구별 품질 차이를 확인하였다. $F_0$값의 수준이 높아질수록 삼계탕 가슴부위육의 육수에서의 무기질 함량, 육의 $L^*$$b^*$ 값, 죽과 육에서의 소화율 및 육수의 탁도는 증가하는 경향을 보였고, 육에서의 유리 아미노산 함량과 가슴살과 뼈의 경도는 오히려 유의적으로 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 전자코로 측정된 육수와 가슴살의 향기 패턴은 시료에 따라 큰 차이를 나타냈다. 관능학적 평가 결과 높은 $F_0$값으로 처리할수록 색, 이취, 조직감 및 향미 등 모든 지표 값이 낮아지는 경향이 확인되었는데, 특히 T3 시료의 색과 조직감은 T1과 T2시료에서보다 확실히 열등하게 평가되었다. 따라서 삼계탕의 품질 열화를 줄이기 위해서는 가능한 한 최소한의 $F_0$값 처리가 요구되며, 이를 위해서는 레토르트기의 우수한 성능과 효율성이 보장되고 이와 관련한 각 공장에 적합한 살균기술의 표준화가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

기공 운동이 비만인의 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36)과 심리적 요인에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Qigong Exercise on SF-36 and Psychological Factors of Middle-aged Obese)

  • 많은 비만인들은 사회적인 편견과 차별로 인하여 신체상에 대한 불만족, 우울, 불안 및 정서장애를 경험하고 있으며, 더 나아가 건강과 관련된 삶의 질의 저하를 나타내고 있다. 이러한 비만인들의 정신적 고통을 개선하기 위하여 운동요법은 하나의 긍정적인 치료 방법으로 권장되고 있다. 본 연구는 동양의 전통 운동형태 중 기공 운동이 비만인에게 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36), 자기효능감, 우울, 불안, 피로의 심리적 요인에 어떠한 효과를 나타내는지를 살펴봄으로써 비만인을 위한 운동처방 지침을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구의 피검자는 S시 G구에 소재한 S대학교 골든웰빙 운동프로그램에 참가하는 50-60대의 성인으로 통제군 16명, 운동군 17명으로 분류하였다. 기공 운동은 12주 동안 주2회의 빈도로 실시하여, 운동 전 후로 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36), 신체적 자기효능감, 우울, 불안, 피로도 변인을 측정하였다. 12주간의 기공 운동 전 후 건강관련 삶의 질(SF-36)의 8항목 중 감정역할 제한(F=0.187, p=0.668), 정신건강(F=2.043, p=0.163)은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내지 못하였으나, 신체기능(F=15.151, p<0.001), 신체역할 제한(F=18.278, p<0.001), 사회적 기능(F=4.957, p=0.033), 활력/피로(F=11.485, p=0.002), 신체통증(F=6.623, p=0.015), 일반적인 건강(F=4.498, p=0.042)의 6가지 변인은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 불안(F=0.631, p=0.433)은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내지 못하였으나, 신체적 자기효능감(F=6.124, p=0.019), 우울(F=5.109, p=0.031), 피로(F=7.998, p=0.008)의 3가지 변인은 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 비만인에게 있어서 기공 운동은 비록 느린 동작으로 수행되는 낮은 강도의 운동형태일지라도 운동자체가 가져다주는 정신 심리적인 개선효과가 분명하게 나타나는 운동임을 본 연구를 통하여 확인할 수 있었다.
