Capacitance - Voltage 방법을 이용한 MOSFET의 유효 채널 길이 추출 (Extracting the Effective Channel Length of MOSFET by Capacitance - Voltage Method.)

  • Improvement in MOS fabrication technology have led to high-density high-performance integrated circuits with MOSFET channel lengths in the sub-micron range. For devices of the size, transistor characteristics become highly sensitive to effective channel length. We propose a new approach to extract the effective channel length of MOSFET by Capacitance-Voltage (C-V) method. Gate-to-Source, Drain capacitance ( $C_{gsd}$) are measured and the effective channel length can be extracted. In addition, compared to l/$\beta$ method and Terada method, which has been point out that it fails to extract the accurate effective channel length of the devices, we prove that our approach still works well for the devices with down to sub-micron regime.e.

무인 자동차의 코너링에 관한 수학적 모델링 (Mathematical Modeling for Cornering of Unmanned Vehicle)

  • Unmanned vehicles have to decide their velocities suitable for the paths which should be generated by the vehicles themselves, based on the kinematic and dynamic aspects of vehicles. For this purpose, this paper is to propose a mathematical modeling of tuning trace for the cornering of an unmanned vehicle by using normal-tangent coordinates as well as extracting the characteristics of behavior for car drivers in cornering. In the proposed modeling, the limitations of velocity can be determined based on the knowledge that the handling of drivers means the control of radius of curvature. The proposed modeling can reduce computational load and generate turning angles and velocities suitable for the cornering of unmanned vehicles.

  • In this paper, laser direct micromaching is developed to fabricate micro patterns using UV laser ( λ$_3$= 355 nm). Experimentally, laser beam paths mainly influences the surface shape quality. Thus. we proposed laser beam path generator by extracting shape data in a blueprint worked through CAD modeler and using genetic algorithm that considers the characteristics of laser beam. The results show that various shapes of micro patterns could be manufactured using proposed method in this paper.

  • As the Proliferation of the Internet, especially World Wide Web, numerous information resources have been constructed. The characteristics of information resources on the Internet are that the information resources are distributed, autonomous, and heterogeneous. Moreover each information resource has its own query method, data representation, and schema structure. The integration of information resources is one of the most important research issues in the Internet data management. The task of information resources integration system is to answer queries that require extracting and combining data from multiple information sources. In this paper, we propose an XML-based Mediation Framework(XMF) for integrating the Internet information resources.

  • Specially, form-based documents are easily understood, quickly processed and thus used more than the general documents. In this paper, a method to classify the documents with minimum features is proposed, not like former methods which use all possible features. To apply this characteristics. a document was first partitioned to areas of certain shape and size, then features were extracted from the partitioned area. It is also possible to sort the partitioned area by using the fact that each partitioned area has the different significance in the point of feature. In conclusion, by using proposed method of extracting features from partitioned document, the processing time decreases due to search area reduction.

병렬 파이프라인 프로세서 아키덱처의 설계 (Design of a Parallel Pipelined Processor Architecture)

  • In this paper, a parallel pipelined processor model which acts as a small VLIW processor architecture and a scheduling algorithm for extracting instruction-level parallelism on this architecture are proposed. The proposed model has a dual-instruction mode which has maximum 4 basic operations being executed in parallel. By combining these basic operations, variable instruction set can be designed for various applications. The scheduling algorithm schedules basic operations for parallel execution and removes pipeline hazards by examining data dependency and resource conflict relations. In order to examine operation and evaluate the performance,a C compiler and a simulator are developed. By simulating various test programs with the compiler and the simulator, the characteristics and the performance result of the proposed architecture are measured.

ExoTime: Temporal Information Extraction from Korean Texts Using Knowledge Base

  • Extracting temporal information from documents is becoming more important, because it can be used to various applications such as Question-Answering (QA) systems, Recommendation systems, or Information Retrieval (IR) systems. Most previous studies only focus on English documents, and they are not applicable to the other languages due to the inherent characteristics of languages. In this paper, we propose a new system, named ExoTime, designed to extract temporal information from Korean documents. The ExoTime adopts an external Knowledge Base (KB) in order to achieve better prediction performance, and it also applies a bagging method to the temporal relation prediction. We show that the effectiveness of the proposed approaches by empirical results using Korean TimeBank. The ExoTime system works as a part of ExoBrain that is an artificial intelligent QA system.

  • In this study, we propose an expert system aided model necessary for extracting the rules, which can diagnose the success level of new product development project. For this purpose, first, we design a classification model to analyze the characteristics of $\ulcorner$parts development projects$\lrcorner$. Second, in order to select success factors, we explore literatures and interview with project managers working at large sized companies of electronic parts. And we conduct the enquete survey and statistical analysis to extract key success factors. Third, in order to decide the level of project success, we use the concept of 'Recearchitivity' as a framework of judgement criteria. Fourth, in order to extract diagnosis rules, we use expert system development tool.

공간 스펙트럼 분포를 이용한 서명 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Signature Identification using the Distribution of Space Spectrum)

  • This paper proposed an algorithm that extracts the optimum characteristics parameters to identify the signatures from the spectrum using 2-D FFT. The signature image input through a scanner is normalized into 250*128 pixels in the prepocessor. Normalized image is divided into block segments and each segment is transformed into space spectrum by 2-d FFT. There are several methods extracting the signature characteristic parameters from that spectrum. The result of experimentations which use the characteristic parameters extracted between $0^{\circ}and\;90^{\circ}$ in (0, 0), (63, 0) corners from 64$\times$64 block spectrum shows that the signature identification rate using that method gives 92.5% of successful achievement for 100 signatures, higher than the others.

  • A new structure to design low pass filters (LPFs) is presented rho proposed structure has the etched shape of Quad-Spiral DGS(Defected Ground Structure) on microstrip transmission lines. By extracting the equivalent circuit elements of unit Quad-Spiral DGS, LPFs are designed easily. The equivalent circuit of Quad-Spiral DGS consists of a step impedance resonator and lumped elements. The proposed LPF provided steep rejection characteristics with 5-poles. Experimental results show excellent agreements with circuit simulation results in wide band and the validity of our circuit modeling for LPF design. The result shows another possibility of Quad Spiral DGS for microwave devices.
