We propose an embedded solution to design a high-speed and high-accuracy 16bit analog-digital signal processing interface for the control systems using various external analog signals. Choosing TMS320F28377D micro controller unit (MCU) featuring high-performance processing in the 32-bit floating point operation, low power consumption, and various I/O device supports, we design and build the proposed system that supports both 16-bit analog-digital converter (ADC) interface and high precision digital-analog converter (DAC) interface. The ADC receives voltage-level differential signals from fully differential amplifiers, and the DAC communicates with MCU through 50 MHz bandwidth high-fast serial peripheral interface (SPI). We port the boot loader and device drivers to the implemented board, and construct the firmware development environment for the application programming. The performance of the entire implemented system is demonstrated by analog-digital signal processing tests, and is verified by comparing the test results with those of existing similar systems.

In this study, a 12 V PWM boost converter was designed with the optimal values of the external components of the power stage was well as the compensation stage for smart electronic applications powered by a battery device. The 12 V boost PWM converter consisted of several passive elements, such as a resistor, inductor and capacitor with a diode, power MOS switch and control IC chip for the control PWM signal. The devices of the power stage and compensation stage were designed to maintain stable operation under a range of load conditions as well as achieving the highest power efficiency. The results of this study were first verified by a simulation in SPICE from calculations of the values of major external elements comprising the converter. The design was also implemented on the prototype PCBboard using commercial IC LM3481 from Texas Instruments, which has a nominal output voltage of 12 V. The output voltage, ripple voltage, and load regulation with the line regulation were measured using a digital oscilloscope, DMM tester, and DC power supply. By configuring the converter under the same conditions as in the circuit simulation, the experimental results matched the simulation results.
This paper is to study and develope a measurement apparatus for ferroelectricity. The apparatus consists of wave generation part, high voltage amplifier part, measurement part, data acquisition part and the related controll circuits. Single or double excitation wave is digitalized and sent to the external RAM of wave generation part by personal computer. These datas saved in the RAM are converted to analog excitation wave through D/A converter. The frequency of excitation wave is depend on the read-out speed of the RAM by clock pulse. Such generated wave is applied to high voltage amplifier as a input voltage. The output of high voltage amplifier is applied to ferroelectrics and the response is obtained from the charge amplifier of measurement part. The response is sampled and converted to digital datas through AID converter. These digital datas are automatically saved in the external RAM of acquisition part. The computer takes the digital datas and calculates the electric displacement D, the electric field and the dielectric constant $\varepsilon$. We tested for PZT ceramic sample and could observed the D-E hysteresis lops and ${\varepsilon}_s$-E hysteresis loops with good forms.
In this paper, a discontinuous-conduction mode (DCM) DC-DC buck converter is presented for mobile device applications. The buck converter consists of compensator for stable operations, pulse-width modulation (PWM) logic, and power switches. In order to achieve small hardware form-factor, the number of off-chip components should be kept to be minimum, which can be realized with simple and efficient frequency compensation and digital soft start-up circuits. Burst-mode operation is included for preventing the efficiency from degrading under very light load condition. The DCM DC-DC buck converter is fabricated with 0.18-um BCDMOS process. Programmable output with external resistors is typically set to be 1.8V for the input voltage between 2.8 and 5.0V. With a switching frequency of 1MHz, measured maximum efficiency is 92.6% for a load current of 100mA.

This paper presents a low-power buck-boost converter for multi-input energy harvesting systems. The designed circuit combines the energy harvested from three input channels in real time and stores it in a storage capacitor. The structure of the buck-boost converter is simplified by using one external inductor and applying time division technique using an arbiter. In addition, to improve the efficiency of the system, the controller circuits of the converter are designed so that current consumption is minimized. The proposed circuit is designed with $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process. Simulation results show that the designed circuit consumes up to 490nA of current when all three input channels are active, and the maximum power efficiency is 92%. The chip area of the designed circuit is $1310{\mu}m{\times}1100{\mu}m$.

This study proposes a DAB two-stage series structure with insulated bidirectional DC-DC converter for two-way power transfer between the renewable energy of high voltages (1 kV and above). The proposed circuit transforms the existing DAB converter into a two-stage series structure to reduce the pressure in the switch. The problem of power imbalance occurring in the design of the DAB converter second-stage series is improved by applying the cell balancing method circuit and the common mode coupled inductor using an external flying capacitor instead of reflecting the existing improvement measures, voltage balance control, and inductor current control. In addition, a no-load supercharging sequence is proposed in high voltages and high-speed switching by using the fixed duty output method. This study presents the analysis results through the structure of the proposed circuit, the principle of improving the power imbalance problem, and simulations. Prototypes were manufactured to meet the specifications of input/output voltage of 1700 V, maximum load of 65 kW, and switching frequency of 51kHz, and the validity of the topology was verified using the experimental results and efficiency data.

Wearable and ubiquitous micro systems will be greatly growing and their related devices should be self-powered in order to avoid the replacement of finite power sources, for example, by scavenging energy from the environment. With ever reducing power requirements of both analog and digital circuits, power scavenging approaches are becoming increasingly realistic. One approach is to drive an electromechanical converter from ambient motion or vibration. Vibration-driven generators based on electromagnetic, electrostatic and piezoelectric technologies have been demonstrated. Among various generator types proposed so far, piezoelectric generator possesses considerable potential in micro system. To overcome low mechanical-to-electric energy conversion, the piezoelectric device should activate in resonance mode in response to external vibration. Normally, the external vibration excretes at low frequency ranging 0.1 to 200 Hz, whereas the resonant frequencies of the devices are fixed as constant. Therefore, keeping their resonant mode in varying external vibration can be one of important points in enhancing the conversion efficiency. We investigated the possibility of use of multi-bender type piezoelectric devices. To match the external vibration frequency with the device resonant frequency, the various devices with different resonant frequency were chosen.
In this paper, in order to develop a simple and high efficient ballast without an external igniter, a half-bridge type ballast with a coupled inductor and a frequency controlled synchronous rectifier is proposed. The internal LC resonance of the buck converter is used In generate a high voltage pulse for the ignition, and the coupled inductor filter is used for steady state ripple cancellation. Also, a synchronous buck converter is applied for the DC/DC converter stage. In order to improve the efficiency of the ballast, a frequency control method is proposed. This scheme reduces a circulation current and turn off loss of the MOSFET switch on the constant power operation, which results in increase of the efficiency of the ballast system about $4\%$, compared to a fixed frequency control. It consists a 2-stage version ballast with a PFC circuit. The results are verified with hardware experiments.
