  • This paper realizers expert system which is searched most suitable system of the fire facilities by regulating of fire operating order And so, the user finds the inference, heuristic knowledge of the expert who has a mastery of application of the fire code objected protection, warning or extinguishing of fire. Although some expert systems utilize artificial intelligence such as LISP or PROLOG, this study utilizes M.1 that is available expert system development tool running with personal computer.

  • Traditional travel information systems provide us with comprehensive information and internet-based travel information systems (IBTIS) with useful information. However, they suffer from limited access to the system, and a lack of flexibility for user requirements. In order to overcome these problems, this research introduces a knowledge-based expert system approach. As a case study, a Knowledge-based Expert System for guiding a New Zealand tour (KEGUNZ) has been developed to suggest highly user-oriented travel plans efficiently in New Zealand. KEGUNZ has been implemented using EXSYS, an expert system shell.

  • Expert systems using uncertain and ambiguous knowledge are not of the recent interests about uncertainty problem for performing inference similar to the decision making of a human expert. Human factors on rule-based systems often involve uncertain information. Expert systems had been used the methods of conflict resolution in a rule conflict situation, but this methods not properly solved the rule conflict. If a human expert appends a new rule to an original rule base, the rule base rightly causes a rule conflict. In this paper, the problem of rule conflict is regarded as one in which uncertainty of information is fundamentally involved. In the reduction of problem with uncertainty, we propose an enhanced rule ordering method, which improve the rule ordering method using Dempster-Shafer theory. We also propose a combinative index, which involve human factors of experts decision making.

  • In this paper, we study a (condition interprete systdem CCIS) which is a general purpose inference system for building an expert system. Previously, most expert systems used fragmentary knowledge-representation and inexact inferencing methods. To solve the proboems of those systems we suggest an algorithm for more flexible deduction and a method of representing knowledge more naturally and consistently compared to those of other experst systems. The CIS is a systsdem which can infer all the current situations from communication with the user based on user discription of some situation. we used some medical data on hypertension and its complication to simulate the system and to prove the effectiveness of the system. The results show that with the proposed method one can realize an attractive expert system.

  • In managing organizational tacit knowledge, recent researches have shown that it is more applicable in many ways to provide expert search mechanisms in KMS to pinpoint experts in the organizations with searched expertise. In this paper, we propose an intelligent expert search framework to provide search capabilities for experts in similar or related fields according to the user′s information needs. In enabling intelligent expert searches, Fuzzy Abstraction Hierarchy (FAH) framework has been adopted, through which finding experts with similar or related expertise is possible according to the subject field hierarchy defined in the system. To improve FAH, a text categorization approach called Vector Space Model is utilized. To test applicability and practicality of the proposed framework, the prototype system, "Knowledge Portal for Researchers in Science and Technology" sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Korea, was developed.

  • Hard Disk Drive (HDD) test system is the equipment for the final test of HDD product by iterative read/write/seek test. This paper proposes an expert system for the fault diagnosis of HDD test systems. The purposed expert system is composed with two cascade inference, fuzzy logic and conventional binary logic. The fuzzy logic determines the possibility of the system fault using the test history data, then, the binary logic inferences the fault location of the test system. The proposed expert system is tested in SAMSUNG HDD product line, KUMI, KOREA, and shows satisfactory results.

  • In this study, we designed the expert system for the diagnosis of stroke. The causes of stroke in central nervous systems are very diverse, so a doctor who treats the patients with stroke must have the expert knowledge for the quick and correct diagnosis and for the adequate medical management. But the primary physician who engaged in the primary care of the patient with stroke does not have the export knowledge for the stroke. So, we need to develop the expert system for assisting the diagnosis of stroke. Also the diagnosis system can be used as simulator for the medical students who study the neurology. In this study, we developed the diagnosis expert system that offer a pathological name provided by artificial neural networks. And we designed the inference engine and interfaces. The artificial neural network is a system that provide a possible diagnosis of stroke. We implemented the system using Windows2000 Server, IIS5.0 and ASP.

  • A scheme of expert system based on iterative learning control is proposed. Iterative learning control can obtain control experience from the historical data to build the knowledge base of expert system. Considering some uncertain factors, a flexible measure is adopted in iterative learning control (ILC). Simulation proves the feasibility and effect of the air conditioning control expert system based on flexible iterative learning control (F-ILC). Finally, a feedback compensation unit is incorporated against irregular heavy disturbance.
