  • The parameter through the motor designing program is used to predict motor response and design the motor drive circuits. The application programs such as "Saber" are often used for these. However, making the electrical model of motor for these simulation tool is uncomfortable and impossible for general users. Therefore, in this paper, we develop the "Spice" library generation program with the motor designing program "Motor Expert". This program will assist the user to make the motor library comfortablely and correctlyry comfortablely and correctly

  • Due to the inherent complexity in the CIM operation, achieving the triple, meeting duedates, maximizing machine utilization, and maximizing system throughput simultaneously is practically impossible. Targeting the small-to-medium size industries of Korea, we propose an exrert system that 'provides a good and practical solution to the CIM operation problems. Heavy consideration has given to the real-time and dynamic nature of CIM in the development process of the system. The system is under testing stage at KU-FMS, model CIM plant.

  • The objective of cell operation in CIM is to maximize system efficiency, not the cell itself. We introduce a cell operation scheme that pursues the direction. For specific cases, work center and AS/RS are closely investigated. Structures of their operation mechanism and methods of job scheduling are introduced along with an expert system developed for the scheme. The cell operation softwares developed are now under test at K.U.FMS, a model CIM plant.

  • This paper describes an automatic design system for the parts that compose the power transmission. Power transmission is composed of shaft, gear, clutch, brake and housing. To design power transmission, there are many recurrent calculations and drawings needed with conventional design process. In this paper, we propose three dimensional automatic design system that reduce recurrent calculations and drawings. Developed system consists of two modules; 1) Design expert system module to assist determining design parameters of clutch, brake and gear. 2) Parametric modeling module to make three dimensional solid model automatically. The proposed system has been tested in the fields and found to be a useful system.

  • The study aims to develop the NCS based vocational curriculum model for the practical and creative human resources. For effectiveness of the study, the study consists of literature studies of both domestic and international, contents analysis, case study, expert(9samples) consultation and review, and in-depth-interview of the three advisory members. The validity of the developed model is analyzed through mean, standard deviation and contents validity ratio(CVR). The main results of the model development in our study are as follow. First, our NCS based vocational curriculum model for the practical and creative human resources is developed with the analyses of NCS development manuals, training standard utilization and training curriculum organization manuals, NCS learning module development manual and case studies, NCS research report, NCS based curriculum pilot development resources directed toward the high schools and vocational school as well as the domestic and international literature study on career training model like NCS. Second, based on the findings of our analysis in combination with the findings from the consultations with the expert and advisory committee, total 19 sub-factors of each step and domain are extracted. The sub-factors of domain in step 1 are the competency unit, definition of competency unit, competency unit element, performance criteria, range of variable, guide of assessment, key competency; in step 2, they are subject title, subject objectives, chapter title, chapter objectives, pedagogical methods, assessment methods and basic job competence; and in step 2, they are NCS based subject matrix table, NCS based subject profile, NCS based job training curriculum table, NCS based subjects organization flowchart, NCS based job training operation plan. Third, the final model including step 3 NCS based subject profile are developed in association with the linked organizational sub-factors of step 1 and step 2. Forth, the validity tests for the final model by the step and domain yield the mean 4.67, CVR value 1.00, indicating the superior validity. Also, the means of each sub-factors are all over 4.33 with the CVR value 1.00, indicating the high validity as well. The means of the associated organizations within the model are also over 4.33 with the CVR value of 1.00. Standard deviations are all .50 or lower which are small. Fifth, based on the validity test results and the in-depth-interview of the expert and advisory committee, the model is adjusted complemented to establish final model of the NCS based vocational curriculum for the practical and creative human resources.

  • This study aims to examine a fuzzy logic-based human expert EMG prediction model (FLHEPM) for predicting electromyographic responses of trunk muscles due to manual lifting based on two task (control) variables. The FLHEPM utilizes two variables as inputs and ten muscle activities as outputs. As the results, the lifting task variables could be represented with the fuzzy membership functions. This provides flexibility to combine different scales of model variables in order to design the EMG prediction system. In model development, it was possible to generate the initial fuzzy rules using the neural network, but not all the rules were appropriate (87% correct ratio). With regard to the model precision, the EMG signals could be predicted with reasonable accuracy that the model shows mean absolute error of 8.43% ranging from 4.97% to 13.16% and mean absolute difference of 6.4% ranging from 2.88% to 11.59%. However, the model prediction accuracy is limited by use of only two task variables which were available for this study (out of five proposed task variables). Ultimately, the neuro-fuzzy approach utilizing all five variables to predict either the EMG activities or the spinal loading due to dynamic lifting tasks should be developed.
