As a result the optimal control algorithm shows good energy performance in comparison with conventional control one.
This paper presents an experimental study of a solar drying system designed and installed by KIER. Experiments have been performed using the KIER system for the drying of marine products, such as squid. Presented in detail are the experimental observations of collector air temperature, solar intensity, absorber plate temperature, drying chamber temperature, humidity and other measures of drying chamber performance with variation of air mass flow rate. As a result, average temperature attained in the drying chamber during autumn weather has been adequated for drying of squids.
The purpose of this study is to examine the balanced English approach program on five-year-old children's English reading and writing ability. For this study, two classes consisting of five-year-old children in HATBEAT kindergarten in D city were selected. One class was designated as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The balanced English approach program was performed on the experimental group but not on the control group. The balanced English approach program was carried out for 8 weeks. The experimental procedures were in the order of pre-test, the experimental treatment, and post-test. The result of the experiment was evaluated by comparing the pre-test and post-test results. Analysis of data was performed by ANCOVA. The result of the study are as follows. First, in the English reading ability, the experimental group was more enhanced than the control group. Also, for sub-factors of English reading such as alphabet and English word reading ability, the experimental group was more enhanced than the control group. However, in the English book reading ability as a sub- factor of the English reading, there was not much difference in the result between the experimental group and the control group. Second, in the English writing ability, the experimental group were more enhanced than the control group.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to apply the Basic CPR(Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training education program and identify its effects on knowledge of Basic CPR and skills of Basic CPR in second grade high school students. Methods: The training program was conducted for 16 weeks between March 26 and July 9, 2005 using a non-equivalent control group pretest-post test design by dividing 60 students in a half for both the experimental group and the control group. General characteristics, the effect of the education were evaluated with $x^2-test$, t-test, ANCOVA, Repeated Measure ANOVA and Bonferonni with SPSS 11.0/pc. Result: After the CPR education program application, knowledge score in the experimental group increased to 20.57 right after the education from 9.32, the score measured before the training, 19.11 after 8 weeks and 18.29 after 12 weeks. On the contrary, the control group's score showed no significant before the training. According to the result of knowledge score comparison between the experimental and control group at each point in time, the experimental group had a significantly high score in knowledge at every point(p<0.001). In the effect durability for knowledge of the training education program in process time after the training program in the experimental group, the durability of effect was identified despite the elapsing time. Scores of skills for Basic CPR increased from 1.21, the score measured before the training program, to 30.07 right after the education, 23.50 after 8 weeks and 17.57 after 12 weeks in experimental group. On the contrary, the control group showed an immaterial increase. According to the result of skill score comparison between the experimental and control group at each point in time, the experimental group had a significantly high score in skill at every point(p<0.001). The score for skill increased significantly right after the education compared to the score prior to the education. Conclusions: These findings suggest that Basic CPR training education program facilitate knowledge of CPR and skill of CPR in high school students. Therefore, it would be necessary to include the Basic CPR training program in high school education curriculum. However, the effect of Basic CPR knowledge maintains for a few period, and the effect of maintaining the skill is shorter than the maintenance of knowledge so regular reeducation is considered to be needed.

Due to the development of video and optical technology today, video equipments are being used in a variety of fields such as identification, security maintenance, and factory automation systems that generate products. In this paper, we investigate an algorithm that effectively recognizes an experimental object in an input image with a partial problem due to the mechanical problem of the input imaging device. The object recognition algorithm proposed in this paper moves and rotates the vertices constituting the outline of the experimental object to the positions of the respective vertices constituting the outline of the DB model. Then, the discordance values between the moved and rotated experimental object and the corresponding DB model are calculated, and the minimum discordance value is selected. This minimum value is the final discordance value between the experimental object and the corresponding DB model, and the DB model with the minimum discordance value is selected as the recognition result for the experimental object. The proposed object recognition method obtains satisfactory recognition results using only partial information of the experimental object.

This study established a numerical model capable of calculating the wave overtopping rate of coastal structures by nonlinear irregular waves using the FUNWAVE-TVD model, a fully nonlinear Boussinesq equation model. Here, a numerical model was established by coding the mean value approach equations of EurOtop (2018) and empirical formula by Goda (2009), and adding them as subroutines of the FUNWAVE-TVD model. The verification of the model was performed by numerically calculating the wave overtopping rate of nonlinear irregular waves on vertical wall structures and comparing them with the experimental results presented in EurOtop (2018). As a result of the verification, the numerical calculation result according to the EurOtop equation of this model was very well matched with the experimental result in all relative freeboard (Rc/Hmo) range under non-impulsive wave conditions, and the numerical calculation result of empirical formula was evaluated slightly smaller than the experimental result in Rc/Hmo < 0.8 and slightly larger than the experimental result in Rc/Hmo > 0.8. The results of this model were well represented in both the exponential curve and the power curve under impulsive wave conditions. Therefore, it was confirmed that this numerical model can simulate the wave overtopping rate caused by nonlinear irregular waves in an vertical wall structure.
We have implemented a fast pressure control system for the transport chamber of a high vacuum cluster tool for advance semiconductor fabrication and evaluated its performance. To overcome the typically slow response of mass flow controllers, the modified experimental method is used very effectively to optimize the pressure control procedure. We successfully obtained quite fast pressure control by adjusting the starting time and eht tuning constants by the Ziegler-Nichols method. In the transport pressure $10\times 10^{-5}$ torr, actual pressure control starts from 4 sec after an initial gas load of 2.1 sccm. As a result, optimum conditions for the tuning constants are the rise rate of 0.02 torr/sec, the lag time of 0.15 sec, and the sampling period of 0.5 sec. Then the settling time is about 9 sec within about $\pm$0.5% for the referenced value. This settling time is enhanced above 75 percents in comparison with conventional experimental method. To account for the experimental effects observed, a theoretical model was developed. This experimental result has a tendency to fit with the theoretical result of $\omega$=-1.0.
In this paper, we present the result of an experimental investigation pertaining to the structural behavior of bolted lap-joint connection of pultruded fiber reinforced plastic structural shapes. In the experimental investigation, in order to find the mechanical property of the material, tension and shear tests on the pultruded structural composite specimen are conducted prior to the investigation on the structural behavior of bolted lap-joint connection of the member. Based on the result, number of bolts, type of placement and location of bolt are determined to be a test variable. Three different types of experimental specimens are prepared. Tensile load is applied through the center of the specimen with lap-joint connection and the structural behavior and failure mode of the test specimens with respect to the tensile load increment are investigated. As a result, it is found that most of the failure mode at the lap-joint connection is shear failure mode. Consequently, it is also found that the data obtained through this experimental program could be used for the structure connection design as a basis.
In order to evaluate the effects of the early exposure of e-PTFE membrane on the periodontal regeneration, 21 cases of 21 patients diagnosed as the chronic adult periodontitis were evaluated. All were class II furcation involvement cases. The control group was composed of 7 cases treated only by the flap operation. 14 cases were treated by the e-PTFE membrane as the experimental group, the membranes of 7 cases were exposed more than 1mm during healing period, which were named as the experimental group I, and the others, experimental group II. Clinical parameters such as probing pocket depth, clinical attachment level, bone probing depth, and gingival recession were recorded before the treatment and 6 months after the treatment. The results were as follows. 1. Significant probing depth reductions were observed for all groups(p<0.05), but no group shows significantly greater reductions than another. 2. Significant clinical attachment gains were observed for the experimental group II(p<0.05), no significant gains were observed in the other groups. 3. Significant bone probing depth reductions were observed for the experimental group II(p<0.05), no significant reductions were observed in the other groups. 4. All but the experimental group II exhibited a significant increase in gingival recession(p<0.05). The result suggested that is case of the e-PTFE membrane is exposed, the result is similar to that of flap operation without membrane. Therefore selecting the proper treatment case, intricate surgical procedure and infection control are essential for minimizing the chance of membrane exposure and finally for the good treatment results.

Experimental conditions are set with environmental factors which can affect ship navigation. In FTS simulation, infinite simulation can be theoretically tested with no time constraint but the simulated result with the same experimental condition is repeated due to mathematical model. RTS simulation can give more resonable results but costs at lest 30 minutes for only experimental time. The mixture of two simulation methods using probability density function has been proposed: some of experimental conditions in which ship-handling is most difficult are selected with FTS and are tested in RTS. It has drawback that it does not consider the navigation route but aggregated track index. In this paper, anomaly detection approach is suggested to select some experimental conditions of FTS simulation which are most difficult in ship-handling during the navigation route. An empirical result has been shown.
