직접 수열 대역확산 방식을 이용한 수중음향통신 연구 (A Study on the Underwater Acoustic Communication with Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum)

  • 이 논문에서는 수중음향통신의 성능 저해 요소 가운데 하나인 다중경로로 인한 인접 심벌간의 간섭(Inter-Symbol Interference)을 극복하기 위하여 직접 수열 대역확산(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) 기법의 적용성에 관해 연구하였다. 직접 수열 대역확산 방식은 육상이동통신 분야에서는 이미 널리 적용되고 있으나 수중음향통신에서는 상대적으로 적은 관심을 받았다. 이에 그 적용성을 검증하기 위해 실제 수중 채널에서 수집한 채널 응답 함수를 이용하여 모의실험을 수행한 결과 일반적인 QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) 기법의 경우 BER(Bit Error Rate)이 $6.73{\times}10^{-3}$이였으며, 직접 수열 대역확산기법이 적용된 경우 BER이 $1.14{\times}10^{-1}$으로 일반적인 QPSK에 비해 향상된 성능을 나타내는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 근거리 해상 실험을 수행한 결과 일반적인 QPSK 기법의 경우 전송률 1 kbps에서 BER이 $3.19{\times}10^{-1}$이였으며, 직접 수열 대역확산 기법이 적용된 경우 BER이 $5.17{\times}10^{-4}$이었다.

Compact AUV platform system designed for the experiment of underwater multi-agent development

  • The underwater multi-agent technology has many potential for the various activities related to ocean development/conservation in the near future. For example, in such fields as water pollution investigation, aquaculture control, or coral reef research, we feel a growing need for a system that realizes underwater continuous monitoring in the wide rang e. In this case, the target monitoring area will be sliced planar hierarchically toward the depth as monitoring layers, and many AUVs arranged on each layer track the given trajectory and gather various environmental information continuously, with communicating each other in the layer or with other layers. To realize those systems we need to develop AUV multi-agent technologies. So we are now building basic systems for basin experiment for the development of AUV multi-agent behavior. We must experience many situations and problems to be solved for the development of its elemental technologies by using real systems as well as our computer simulations. In this paper we introduce our concept of the experiment in the near future and the hardware/software design of our two types of handy AUVs and ultrasound ranging/communication system for that experiment. One AUV is designed using a 17inches-diameter glass sphere with DOS/V and RT-Linux based subsystems, which is intended to use not only in the basin but also in the calm real sea. The other AUV is designed for the basin experiment using a 7inches-diameter acrylic sphere with low-cost embedded system with SH-2 based subsystems. The basin experiment to verify the basic AUV facilities and ultrasound ranging for position detection was carried out.

음향라디오시티법을 이용한 잔향수조 음장 해석과 실험검증 (Acoustic Field Analysis of Reverberant Water Tank using Acoustic Radiosity Method and Experimental Verification)

  • The acoustic power is a major acoustical characteristic of an underwater vehicle and could be measured in a reverberant water tank. In order to obtain accurate measurement results, the acoustic field formed by the sound source should be investigated quantitatively in the reverberant water tank. In this research, the acoustic field of a reverberant water tank containing an underwater sound source has been analyzed by using an acoustic radiosity method one of the numerical analysis methods suitable for the acoustic analysis of the highly diffused space. The source level of the underwater sound source and acoustical properties of the water tank input to the numerical analysis have been estimated by applying the reverberant tank plot method through a preliminary experiment result. The comparison of the numerical analysis result with that of the experiment has verified the accuracy of the acoustic radiosity method.

Flow-induced interior noise from a turbulent boundary layer of a towed body

  • In this work results from an underwater experiment on flow-induced noise in the interior of a towed body generated from a surrounding turbulent boundary layer are presented. The measurements were performed with a towed body under open sea conditions at towing depths below 100 m and towing speeds ranging from 2.4 m/s to 6.2 m/s (4 kn to 12 kn). Focus is given in the experiments to the relation between (outer) wall pressure fluctuations and the (inner) hydroacoustic near-field on the reverse side of a flat plate. The plate configuration consists of a sandwich structure with an (thick) outer polyurethane layer supported by an inner thin layer from fibre-reinforced plastics. Parameters of the turbulent boundary layer are estimated in order to analyse scaling relations of wall-pressure fluctuations, interior hydroacoustic noise, and the reduction of pressure fluctuations through the plate.

  • 최근 일부 외국에서는 종래의 수중 콘크리트와 다른 관점으로부터 수중에서 쉽게 분리되지 않고 타설방법도 용이한 특수 혼화제가 개발되어 실험과 시공에서 성공하였고, 이런 특수 콘크리트(수중 비분리 콘크리트)는 점차 사용 규모와 시공 방법이 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 수중 비분리 콘크리트에 대한 성공적인 실험, 시공사례를 참고하여 수중 비분리성 혼화제 및 다른 혼화제의 첨가 방법을 달리하였을 경우, 수중 비분리 콘크리트의 물성변화를 검토하였고, 비교적 정온 상태의 해상 환경에 적용할 수 있는 수중 비분리 콘크리트의 최적 배합을 결정하였다.

Assessment on shock pressure acquisition from underwater explosion using uncertainty of measurement

  • This study aims to verify experimentally the specifications of the data acquisition system required for the precise measurement of signals in an underwater explosion (UNDEX) experiment. The three data acquisition systems with different specifications are applied to compare their precision relatively on maximum shock pressures from UNDEX. In addition, a method of assessing the acquired signals is suggested by introducing the concept of measurement uncertainty. The underwater explosion experiments are repeated five times under same conditions, and assessment is conducted on maximum quantities acquired from underwater pressure sensors. It is confirmed that the concept of measurement uncertainty is very useful method in accrediting the measurement results of UNDEX experiments.

수조 및 저수지 실험을 통한 수중 코드 분할 다중 접속 기법 순방향 링크 성능 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Underwater Code Division Multiple Access Scheme on Forward-Link through Water-Tank and Lake Experiment)

  • 코드 분할 다중 접속 기법은 주파수 선택적 페이딩에 강인하고 높은 주파수 재사용 효율 특성으로 인해 열악한 수중 환경에서의 유망한 매체 접속 제어 기법으로 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 또한 최근 수중 매체 접속 제어기법의 성능 분석이 모의실험을 통해서 뿐만 아니라 해상 및 저수지에서의 실제 실험을 통해 이뤄지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 수중 코드 분할 다중 접속 기법의 순방향 링크에 대한 트랜스시버를 설계한다. 수조 실험을 통해 코드 분할 다중 접속 기법의 수중 환경 적용 가능성을 검증하며, 수조 실험으로 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 개선된 성능의 트랜스시버를 설계하고 모의실험과 저수지 실험을 통해 성능 개선을 확인한다. 사용자 데이터는 월시 부호를 사용하여 다중화되며, PN 획득 과정을 통해 위상 오류 정정 및 PN 부호 역확산을 수행한다. 또한 성능 향상을 위해 인터리빙 기법과 높은 오류 정정 효율을 가지는 채널 부호화 기법을 사용한다. 결과적으로 두 개의 다중화 데이터는 모두 오류 없이 복원되었으며, 세 개, 네 개의 다중화 데이터는 15% 이하의 오류율로 복원되었다.

수중추진기의 추진력 시뮬레이션 및 실험 (Thrust Simulation and Experiments for Underwater Thrusters)

  • In the early design stage of underwater vehicles, it is important to estimate the vehicle's underwater motion performance. The key design elements for the motion are propellers, battery power, and underwater resistance of the vehicle. Small thrusters with motor and propeller are usually used for the UUV(unmanned underwater vehicles). In this study, a multiphysics thruster model combining electro-mechanical and hydrodynamics characteristics was proposed to estimate the thruster performance. To show the applicability of the mathematical model, an sample thruster was used for the derive the unknown parameters of thruster. Hydrodynamic parameters were calculated for a 3D geometry model of the propeller by ANSYS/CFX program. Finally, Matlab/simulink program was used for the numerical simulation to predict the thruster performance from the given voltage/current input to the motor. Also, proved validity of simulation model by experiment test. Test were done by 2 mode(middle/high speed, reverse). The thruster performance curves obtained from this simulation were confirmed to be similar with experiment results.

캔드타입 전동워터펌프용 수중베어링의 특성분석 (Characteristic Analysis of Underwater Bearing for Canned-Type Electric Water Pump)

  • This paper presents characteristic analysis of underwater bearing for canned type electric water pump. Characteristic analysis of underwater bearing was performed using self-developed performance tester, which capable of torque change, noise change, motor speed change and abrasion loss test with respect to temperature change of underwater bearing. The performance tester can be monitored in real time by designing the control unit using the Labview program. The performance experiment was performed through comparison of the silicon carbide (SIC) and the carbon bearing. From the experiment results, performance of SIC bearing was better than carbon bearing at the abrasion and temperature experiment.

선형펌프방식 압축수 시스템의 실험적 수중소음인자별 경향분석 연구 (A Study on the Experimental Trend Analysis of Underwater Noise Factors in Compressed Water System of the Linear Pump Type)

  • In order to understand the underwater noise source factor of the linear pump type forced ejection system, a reduced-model compressed water experiment device was developed. The reduced-model compressed water experiment device consists of a reverberation tank, a linear pump type forced ejection device, and an underwater vehicle. The underwater noise source was selected from the hydraulic ram moving speed, the hydraulic ram/piston pipe spacing, the ejection pipe inlet/water ram area ratio, and the number of water ram inlets. The underwater vehicle was ejected into the reverberation tank by the device. The source level was derived from the measured sound pressure. The source level tends to increase as the hydraulic ram/piston tube spacing and the hydraulic ram moving speed increase. The source level tended to increase as the area ratio was increased, but the level was weak. The number of water ram inlet did not affect the source level.
