  • This study aimed to develop a VR-based digital therapeutic intervention for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. The research combined medical data with virtual reality technology to develop an algorithm for ADHD diagnostic scales and implemented a VR-based digital therapeutic platform using a head-mounted display (HMD). This platform can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children and adolescents. Additionally, we four VR games were developed, including archery timing, Antarctic exploration, grocery shopping, and rhythm-based drumming(RBD), incorporating various psychiatric treatment techniques based on cognitive-behavioral therapy(CBT). To evaluate the usability of this digital therapeutic intervention, a group of experts specialized in counseling psychology participated in the study. The evaluations received highly positive feedback regarding the ability to access the system menu while wearing the HMD, the consistency of terminology used in menus and icons, the usage of actual size for 3D graphic elements, and the support for shortcut key functionality. The assessments also indicated that the games could improve attention, working memory, and impulse control, suggesting potential therapeutic effects for ADHD. This intervention could provide a daily treatment method for families experiencing financial constraints that limit hospital-based therapies, thereby reducing the burden.

  • To investigate the feeding habits of the Kaloula borealis, the stomach contents of 52 out of 56 specimens collected around Daejung-up, Jeju Island in June 2011 were studied. The stomach contents were analyzed with the stomach flushing method. According to the results, the main preys of the Kaloula borealis were Diptera sp., Harpalidae, Formicidae and Drosophilidae. the Kaloula borealis of all sizes fed on small preys, while individuals with large SVL fed on big preys. By feeding on a large amount of food with a small number of activities, the individuals with large SVL is considered to enhance energy efficiency. In many cases, the Kaloula borealis fed on Diptera sp. or Drosophilidae, which are slow but active and capable of flying. As a result, the Kaloula borealis take the sit-and-wait form of preying rather than actively searching for food. The results of this research on feeding habits of the Kaloula borealis will provide valuable resources to protect the endangered Kaloula borealis experiencing a sharp decline in their population and to prepare plans for population preservation strategies for them.

  • The purpose of this research was analyzing pre-post change of concept recognition structure about happiness and activity in which medical school students feel happiness, in order to develop such curriculum accordingly. Research subjects included a total of 36 sophomores attending medical school, and a day reconstruction method and network analysis were applied. According to the research finding, while medical school students were experiencing a lot of happiness while eating/talking and doing leisure activities, the frequency of feeling happiness through learning activities was shown to be low. Words that expressed happiness before and after were similar in many parts and 'economy' showed the highest degree centrality before and 'work' showed the highest degree centrality after. Because the structure of the concept about happiness was divided from 1 group into 4 groups including one's work, positive self, health of family, value about life etc., perception of the concept about happiness was changed from the concept about superficial happiness to the concept about actual happiness. Therefore, in order for prospective doctors who will treat human health to establish the concept and value about happiness properly, education about happiness is necessary and for this, curriculum related to happiness must be developed systematically.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the self-respect moderating effect on adolescents with emotional problems because of neglect and abusive experiences. The results are as follows: First, the level of abusive experiences was higher than that of neglect in adolescents. General characteristics including genders and individual family situations were found to be the influences causing emotional problems in adolescents. Second, adolescents with high levels of neglect and abuse experienced high levels of depression, social anxiety, aggression and physical symptoms. Third, even though self-respect did not have a strong moderating effect on the emotional problems of adolescents who suffered neglect and abuse, there was a difference between the abuse experience and the emotional problem in the inclination test results for the high and low group based on the average of the self-respect of the respondents. The results of this study suggest that the need for a stronger variable to reduce the negative emotional state among adolescents experiencing neglect and abuse is related to emotional problems.

  • Communication skill to maintain personal relationships is a crucial factor in our social life. However, even though a number of people are experiencing difficulty in communication owing to their poor interpersonal interchanges in real life, they are interacting with virtual characters in artificially created virtual space. In order to remedy such a lack of communication among game players, first, they need to search appropriate ways to communicate each other in real life, but not in virtual space, or to create a game space as a new place for interaction among them by utilizing advantages of the game world. To accomplish such an aim, it is necessary to precede the research on what kind of relations or characteristics for game players' interaction to others in the real life and game world. For the reason, in this paper, we investigate interaction patterns of game players in real life and in the virtual space. In order to perform this investigation, an ego-gram, which demonstrates the pattern of the ego states as a field-oriented approach is used as the research method. The result shows that there are differences between patterns in each spaces. so, we apply a factor analysis and analyse the relationship between the transaction pattern of players in two spaces using the ego-gram.

  • Virtual Training generates virtual situation or environment with specific goals in order to instruct trainees as if they are in the real-world. Recently, the demand of experiencing certain incident, which we are not able to experience in real life, has been increased along with the fast developing Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Particularly, Virtual Training(VT) enables us to learn various fields those require high risk and high cost. The system of VT provides interaction and allows us absorb these learning materials better which augments learning effect. Based on the demand of Virtual Training system, this research analyzes current education paradigm National Competency Standards (NCS) in Korea and suggests possible education that utilizes Virtual Training system. At the end of the day, our future goal is to apply suggested Virtual Training contents to universities that reflect NCS curriculum like polytechnic university.
