This study aims to explore the reexperience of trauma caused by experience of discrimination and stigma from South Korean. For this purpose of this study, focus group interview methods are used. The participants are five women who escaped from North Korea and they were from 20s to 50s. From the outcomes of this study, I find out that they had experienced to put in prison, to let arrest to let human traffic, and sexual or physical assault. Now they have PTSD(Post Trauma Stress Symptom) of nightmare related with past trauma, avoidance of interpersonal relationships and similar situations, and retrospection and memorization of negative experiences. In that situation, they also have experienced discrimination caused by lack of understanding of their suffering in South Korea. And almost of them suffer from poor situation economically and physically. Participants regret their entry to South Korea and perceive that their hope has gone. And they have anger of Korean's discrimination and stigma and they feel suicide impulse after experiencing very difficult situation. These negative experiences affect their PTSD and make reemergence of trauma experience. In conclusion, the outcomes of this study are discussed and I proposed the practical suggestions which have affected decreasing the PTSD.
This research is to explore the direction of circus education in Korea by the case study of Circus Professional Training Program, which was held by Seoul Foundation Arts and Culture for the first time in Korea. The study was conducted via interviews of three participants who completed Circus Professional Training Program to comprehend their experiences of participating the programs in Korea and France. Result of this study revealed that the participants were able to set their goals to jump up, and expand their movements through the program that was held in Korea. Experiencing the great cirus world in France, they showed eagerness to go back and get more training. Despite of these positive effects, they have faced a difficulty how to continue their leaning and goals for the circus in the absence of circus facilities and places to practice. The system that they can take the next step is not ready yet, either. There should be some solutions to these problems. In order to develop the circus education, they hoped that Seoul Foundation Arts and Culture continues circus education with consistency. In addition to that, many national and circus educational organizations should be activated to establish the circus professional educational system.
This study was carried out to investigate the post stroke depression (PSD) occurrence in acute stroke patients and to identify the factors that influence PSD. The study subjects were 104 adults in their 20s or older who were scheduled to be discharged due to inpatient treatment for ischemic stroke in two hospitals. Data were collected using Post Stroke Depression Scale for PSD, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support for social support, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale for stroke severity, and Modified Rankin Scale for disability. The average length of stay after stroke onset of the study subjects was 5.9±2.1 days, and 79.8% were within 7 days. Stroke severity score was an average of 2.4±2.5 out of 42 points, and disability score was an average of 1.6±1.1 out of 6 points. Among the subjects, 32.7% had mild or more severe depression after stroke. The subjects with no religion, severe disability, high stroke severity, and less family support had a higher likelihood of experiencing PSD. These results show that depression can appear in the early stages of stroke onset. Therefore, it is necessary to develop nursing guidelines for depression intervention after acute stroke, including continuous early assessment of depression from the acute phase of stroke and religion or family support.
The purpose of this study was to explore career transformation process and experience of a senior steward of college student mission organization who has been engaged in a secular career and switched career as a steward of college student mission organization. In order to accomplish the purpose of the research, in-depth interviews of five senior stewards were conducted and analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, it can be known that the motivation for the career change of a senior steward of the CCC is related with the consciousness of calling. Second, the career transformation process of a senior steward of the CCC can be seen as experiencing adaptation to the new environment and unexpected support. Third, the meaning of the career change of a senior steward of the CCC appeared to be re-finding one's vocational goal, keeping the promise, and, special and glorious life. The following conclusions were obtained. First, it was confirmed that the identification of the mission is an essential step to the mission group steward's execution of the calling. Second, the execution of the calling of the mission group steward is very much more continuous when there are supporters. Third, the meaning of a career transition experience by the mission group steward was realized in the life of a faithful interpreter.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge and satisfaction of tooth bleaching. From June 1st, 2017, 328 patients who visited a dental clinic in Ulsan Metropolitan City for two weeks were asked to do a self - filling questionnaire. As a result of the study, the tooth bleaching satisfaction according to tooth bleaching knowledge was not statistically significant (p<0.05), and the highest(8-10) degree of satisfaction was 3.86 when the knowledge of tooth bleaching was high, and the lowest(0-3) was 3.00. The tooth bleaching satisfaction according to general characteristics was significantly different in age and gender. The score of women were 3.74 and higher than men's 3.11 The tooth bleaching experience and tooth bleaching satisfaction were statistically significant (p <0.05) and professional tooth bleaching (4.41) was higher than OCT bleaching (2.64). Also, when the tooth bleaching was done by the invitation of the hospital, it was higher than the case of experiencing tooth bleaching through media advertising. Therefore, the satisfaction of tooth bleaching is required not only for general characteristics but also for tooth tooth bleaching, and it is influenced by tooth bleaching method and tooth bleaching motivation. These factors may be useful to establish a treatment plan to improve the satisfaction of tooth bleaching.
Hospitals in Korea have been increasingly using physician assistants (PA) as an alternative way of dealing with the shortage of residents. However, some incidents of a Physician's Assistant practicing beyond their legal scope require closer examination of the current PA's roles and functions. This study is a web-based survey designed towards targeting physician assistants in Korea (KPA) who practice delegated tasks under a physician's license. Currently, there are 2,125 KPAs working in 141 general hospitals and medical centers. Data from 704 nurses from who responded to the questionnaire were analyzed with descriptive statistics using the SPSS 12.0 program. Their mean age is 32.5 years with 8-10 years of clinical experiences, with males being more likely to be a PA. Despite of KPAs providing medical services and performing invasive procedures, only 13% of KPAs are licensed APNs (advanced practice nurse). KPAs have a low job satisfaction due to a lack of rewards and the necessity for providing illegal practices, and are experiencing identity confusion. The current KPA system is a transitional product of the change from the hierarchial structure to a more collaborative relationship between the medical and nursing departments. Providing adequate education and training, establishing protocols with legal protection, and developing professional independent scope of care are recommended to deliver safe and efficient medical services.
Many hidden aspects of society around the world that has been lurking as risk factors have been ultimately connected to disasters. Such connection did not just stop with massive damages to properties and loss of lives but became a serious social issue. Especially in the case for Korea, because the country has gone through abrupt economic growth which has resulted in rapid urbanization and expansion of economic scale, Korea has been caught in a vicious cycle of experiencing human and social calamities repeatedly. Due to the seriousness of such problem, there's been continued research in various fields for managing disasters, and the domain of knowledge has been expanding with complexity. The following study went beyond the perspectives of disaster prevention study, disaster prevention engineering and social sciences suggested from previous research directions in disaster and disaster prevention, and attempted an alternative research method by approaching from a service design perspective. During the process, the paper looked over the summary on disaster and service design. By applying it on disaster prevention projects, the research sets forth and discusses effective and practical disaster prevention service design. Through specific case studies, the research methodology applied was verified, and the purpose of the study was carried out in the perspective of real world applications different from textbook type discussions. It is expected that through the disaster prevention service design process and platform that were discovered during the research result, defining and understanding disaster prevention service design will be made apparent. Additionally, the research is expected to be used as a basic building block for building a visualized plan for tangible and intangible factors related to disasters before the disaster process through such proposed disaster prevention service design.
Clinical nurses have tendency to change their job while providing care to patient, experiencing extreme stress with shift work, increased demands for technique, and heavy workload. At this point, it is time for investigating resilience in nursing part, and resilience affect to increase organizational commitment and decrease stress and exhaustion at organization. This study is a correlation study to investigate effects resilience on stress, exhaustion, and organizational commitment of clinical nurses. The results are as follows; The participants' resilience level is 3.38(${\pm}.38$), at the maximum of 5, stress level is 3.73(${\pm}.50$) at the maximum of 5, burnout level is 2.74(${\pm}.68$) at the maximum of 6 and organizational commitment level is 4.22(${\pm}.68$) at the maximum of 7. Ftom this study, resilience, stress, and burnout showed negative correlation, and resilience and organizational commitment revealed positive correlation. In order to decrease the clinical nurses' stress, burnout and enhance nurses' organizational commitment, nurse managers have to manage nurses' resilience. For increasing resilience of nurses, nurse manager has to develop resilience program, and training for managing nurses' stress and burnout.
This study aims to explore the characteristics of the working conditions in Korean game industry, focusing on the precarity of game workers. As a research methodology, qualitative and quantitative methods were combined. Specifically, in addition to in-depth interviews with game workers, we conducted a quantitative analysis on adequacy of reward and career prospects recognized by game workers through the Korean Working Conditions Survey(2014/2017). The major findings are as follows. First, game workers were experiencing labor precarity in a way of job insecurity, economic instability and excessive exploitation, as well as loss of autonomy and labor alienation. Second, between 2014 and 2017, the adequacy of reward recognized by game workers was positively improved for companies with 30 or more employees, but was worsen for those with less than 30 employees. In addition, in terms of career prospects, there were no significant changes in the workers of companies with 30 or more employees, but the were worsened for companies with less than 30 employees. These results show that labor precarity in the game industry appears to be different depending on various factors, such as business size, occupation, and career. It also implies that the polarized and inequal structure of the Korean game industry is gradually deepening.
Due to the lack of national consensus on the importance and value of the character industry and the lack of recognition of value as a national strategic industry, the development of the character industry is experiencing great difficulties. The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic effects of character industry in China to help establish policies and strategies for the character industry in the future. To this end, this study utilized the China 2017 Industrial Association Table. The analysis results are as follows. China's character industry has a lower production inducement effect than other industries with a column total of 3.45514, and a row total of 1.30015. This shows that China's character industry is still being produced by small and medium-sized companies with a low equity ratio. Second, in the character industry, the index of the sensitivity of dispersion representing the forward linkage effect is 0.01426 and the impact factor is 0.03790, which are all less than 1. Therefore, it can be said to be the final demand manufacturing type.Third, in China character industry's income induction is 0.47690 and the production tax induction effect is -0.04912. It can be seen that the character industry has less income induction and tax burden generated every time the final demand increases by one unit in the entire industry than in other industries.Despite the quantitative growth of the character industry in China, the impact on other industries is low and it is not playing a role as an income-generating industry. Structural improvement is needed for the qualitative development of China's character industry.
