Characteristics of Building Structural System with IsoTruss® Grid (IsoTruss® 그리드를 적용한 건물구조시스템의 특성)

  • Recently, unconventional high-rise building shapes have attracted attention as a landmark of metropolitan cities and the search for innovative building forms in architecture is ongoing. In this study, $Isotruss^{(R)}$ grid(ITG) used in smaller scale structures was applied to building structural systems and its structural performance was examined. The structural behavior of an ITG was compared with that of a diagrid structure as a reference structure. The stiffness-based design method of the diagrid system was used for the preliminary design stage of member sizing in an ITG. The structural design of 16, 32, and 48-story buildings was carried out for the two systems with the same size. The angle of the inclined columns for ITG and diagrid was $59^{\circ}$ and $68.2^{\circ}$, respectively. The lateral stiffness, steel tonnage of the exterior frame, axial strength ratio, story drift ratio, and natural frequency of the two systems were compared. Based on the analysis result of 6 buildings, the two systems had similar structural capacity; 93.3% and 88.7% of the lateral load was carried by the perimeter frame in the ITG system and diagrid system, respectively. This suggests that the ITG system is better in arranging core columns. Therefore, the proposed ITG system has not only a unique façade, but also substantial structural capacity equivalent to the existing system.

  • In this paper, we introduce a method that can be used to select the position of head node for context-awareness information. The validity of the head node optimal location is saving the energy in the path according to the clustering. It is important how to elect one of the relay node for energy efficiency routing. Existing LEACH algorithm to elect the head node when the node's energy probability distribution function based on the management of the head node is optional cycle. However, in this case, the distance of the relay node status information including context-awareness parameters does not reflect. These factors are not suitable for the relay node or nodes are included in the probability distribution during the head node selects occurs. In particular, to solve the problems from the LEACH-based hierarchical clustering algorithms, this study defines location with the status context information and the residual energy factor in choosing topology of the structure adjacent nodes. The proposed ECOPS (Energy Conserving Optimal path Schedule) algorithm that contextual information is contributed for head node selection in topology protocols. This proposed algorithm has the head node replacement situations from the candidate head node in the optimal path and efficient energy conservation that is the path of the member nodes. The new head node election technique show improving the entire node lifetime and network in management the network from simulation results.

A Development of Simple Fuel Consumption Estimation and Optimized Route Recommendation System based on Voyage Data of Vessel (항차 데이터 기반 간이 연료 소모량 추정 및 최적 경유 항구 추천 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, The MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) regulation, which measures, reports and verifies the emission gas of vessel to head for member countries of Europe Union (EU), is being implemented. As part this reason, we develop a system that estimates simple fuel consumption and recommends optimized stop-over ports of vessel, to calculate amount of carbon emission. To do this, we analyze fuel, distance and time consumption between port and the other port based on stored voyage data for over 10 years of real-ship, and implement a simple fuel consumption estimation module using analyzed result. Also, we design and implement the optimized route recommendation algorithm, existing navigation route display function including comparison with the optimized routes and user custom route plan function. Therefore, we expect the developed system is helpful when makes a navigation route and so on by reference indexes and we anticipate the system to have a sense for future research which learns and predicts for accuracy result.

Design Concept of Beams Reinforced by Deformed Bars and Non-Prestressed Strands in Combination (비긴장강연선과 철근이 혼용된 보의 설계방안)

  • A new precast concrete (PC) beam and column connection system using non-prestressed wire strands was recently developed. The system is composed of one unit of two-storied PC-column and PC-beams with U-shaped ends. The connection part of the column and beams is reinforced by deformed bars and non-prestressed wire strands in combination for the improvement of workability. Structural performance of this system was verified by several experimental studies. The purpose of this study is developing a design concept of the beam reinforced by deformed bars and non-prestressed wire strands in combination, in terms of the cross-sectional analysis, based on the preceded experiment. A minimum and maximum reinforcement ratio and the calculation formula for the strength of flexural member reinforced by reinforcements having different yield strengths are derived based on KBC2009. Under consideration existing research results for the application of high strength reinforcement bars, the design yield strength of the non-prestressed wire strand is suggested. An example for the cross section design, satisfying the serviceability requirements, demonstrates the applicability of the design concept developed in the study.

Exploring the Link between Intrapreneurship and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy (사내기업가활동이 창업효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the Korean government announced that it would focus on fostering intrapreneurship and corporate spin-off. The government encourages intrapreneurship because it ultimately seeks to develop industries and markets, grow innovative companies, and job creation. In particular, the government believes that enhancing intrapreneurship will reduce the personal fear of failures, expand open innovation by utilizing resources within existing companies related to innovation creation, and lead to new start-ups. Accordingly, this research reviewed the previous studies on corporate entrepreneurship activities and entrepreneurial self-efficacy and briefly looked at the status of global intrapreneurship activities. Based on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Adult Population Survey data in 2015, this study conducted a logistic regression analysis with the data of 27 OECD member countries' and Korean respondents. The finding confirms that the personal experience of intrapreneurship could be positively associated with entrepreneurial self-efficacy of the person. Therefore, it seems to be worth for the Korean government considering policies that support intrapreneurship as part of the start-up policy.

Prediction Survey on Construction Guarantee Market Due to the Restructuring of the Construction Industry's Production System (건설산업 생산체계 개편에 따른 건설보증시장 변화 예측 조사)

  • The construction guarantee market is a rear market affected by changes in the construction industry and market. As the restructuring of the construction industry's production system is being carried out, such as the abolition of regulations on business field between general and specialty contractors, major changes are expected not only in the construction market but also in the construction guarantee market. In construction guarantee market, there are currently three Contractor Financial Cooperatives, which are divided based on business field and business type(General, Specialty and Plant & Mechanical). The abolition of business field regulation will have various effects on construction guarantee market, such as forming a competitive structure among the three Contractor Financial Cooperatives. Therefore the role of the construction guarantee institutions are also required to change. This study predicted the changes in the construction guarantee market after the restructuring of construction industry and analyzed the ripple effect on the market. This study reviewed the details of the reorganization plan on the construction industry, policies and statistical data related to construction guarantee, and lastly conducted the survey on each member of the three Contractor Financial Cooperatives to analyze the usage behavior in the future guarantee market. Based on the result of this study, the members of both the General Contractor Financial Cooperative and Specialty Contractor Financial Cooperative are not willing to change the existing institutions, but a lot of them are expected to use other institutions in duplicate. The members of the Plant & Mechanical Contractor Financial Cooperative are most willing to use other guarantee institutions.

Time Reduction Effect Analysis of SMART Frame for Long Span and Heavy Loaded Logistics Buildings (SMART 프레임의 공기단축 효과 분석 - 대형 물류창고 사례 -)

  • As online commerce increases, the construction of large logistics buildings worldwide is exploding. Most of these buildings have the characteristics of long span and heavy loaded and use precast concrete components, a pin joint structure, for rapid construction. However, due to construction safety and structural stability requirements, the pin joint structure has many limitations in terms of the erection of the PC member, which increases the time and cost. A structural frame connected with steel joints between precast concrete components, called a SMART frame, has been developed, which addresses these constraints and risks. However, the effect of the appllication of a SMART frame on the time aspect has not been analysed. The study is a time reduction effect analysis of a SMART frame for long span and heavy loaded logistics buildings. For this study, the authors select a case site erected using existing PC components, and compare the time reduction with the SMART frame erection simulations. Through this analysis, it was found that a time reduciton about 4 months, approximately 48% of the conventional PC installation period could be achieved. If the SMART frame is applied when carrying out future large-scale logistics building projects, it can be expected to have the effect of significantly shortening the construction period compared to the conventional method.

A Evaluation of Fire Behavior According to Member Thickness of Precast Prestressed Hollow Core Slab of Fire Resistance Section (프리캐스트 프리스트레스트 내화단면 중공슬래브의 부재두께에 따른 화재거동평가 )

  • At construction sites, interest in the production of precast materials is increasing due to off-site conditions due to changes in construction site conditions due to increased labor costs and the Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents. In particular, the precast prestressed hollow slab has a hollow shape in the cross section, so structural performance is secured by reducing weight and controlling deflection through stranded wires. With the application of structural standards, the urgency of securing fire resistance performance is emerging. In this study, a fire-resistance cross section was developed by reducing the concrete filling rate in the cross section and improving the upper and lower flange shapes by optimizing the hollow shape in the cross section of the slab to have the same or better structural performance and economic efficiency compared to the existing hollow slab. The PC hollow slab to which this was applied was subjected to a two-hour fire resistance test using the cross-sectional thickness as a variable, and as a result of the test, fire resistance performance (load bearing capacity, heat shielding property, flame retardance property) was secured. Based on the experimental results, it is determined that fire resistance modeling can be established through numerical analysis simulation, and prediction of fire resistance analysis is possible according to the change of the cross-sectional shape in the future.

Clustering Technique of Intelligent Distance Estimation for Mobile Ad-hoc Network (이동 Ad-hoc 통신을 위한 지능형 거리추정 클러스터방식)

  • The study aims to propose the intelligent clustering technique that calculates the distance by improving the problems of multi-hop clustering technique for inter-vehicular secure communications. After calculating the distance between vehicles with no connection for rapid transit and clustering it, the connection between nodes is created through a set distance vale. Header is selected by the distance value between nodes that become the identical members, and the information within a group is transmitted to the member nodes. After selecting the header, when the header is separated due to its mobility, the urgent situation may occur. At this time, the information transfer is prepared to select the new cluster header and transmit it through using the intelligent cluster provided from node by the execution of programs included in packet. The study proposes the cluster technique of the intelligent distance estimation for the mobile Ad-hoc network that calculates the cluster with the Store-Compute-Forward method that adds computing ability to the existing Store-and-Forward routing scheme. The cluster technique of intelligent distance estimation for the mobile Ad-hoc network suggested in the study is the active and intelligent multi-hop cluster routing protocol to make secure communications.

How Can the Gender Pay Gap be Overcome?: The Effect of Rational HR System based on Management Philosophy of CEO (성별임금격차는 어떻게 완화되는가?: 최고경영자의 경영철학에 기반한 합리적 인사제도의 효과)

  • It is important to realize employment equality to fulfill corporate social responsibility. The most suitable indicator for assessing its performance is the gender wage gap. Korea is considered the country with the most severe gender wage gap among OECD member countries, however, studies on the gender wage gap have been mainly attempted to explain in terms of the structure of the labor market, government policies, etc. This study focus on the characteristics of CEO and HR systems among the characteristics of organizations affecting the gender wage gap. The management philosophy sets the direction of organizational decision-making and activates the system. In addition, the HR system enables fair and objective organizational management for members through rules and procedures. However, even in organizations seeking rationalization, minority people may experience discrimination. Moreover, the rational HR system may act as a mechanism to justify discrimination, contrary to existing intentions. This study proposes that in order for the rational HR system to work positively, it must be based on the management philosophy. In other words, it is intended to derive a mechanism that can alleviate the gender wage gap from the integrated perspective of the characteristics of the CEO and the rational HR system. In particular, it aims to provide specific implications for how the organization should operate the HR system by examining the gender wage gap based on internal factors of companies that utilize manpower.
