  • Tilting trains are now an established feature of railway operations throughout the world. For intercity traffic, tilt provides operators with increasing speeds, and therefore enhanced competitiveness, on existing routes where insufficient traffic or a lack of funds precludes the construction of a dedicated new high-speed railway. Appling the tilting train, we can expect 30% of speed up on existing lines, but the stability of the electric current would be low because of tilting the train. Also, the spark between the catenary and pantagraph cause environmental problems such as noise, radio wave malfunction. Therefore, the tilting on pantagraph for the power suppling device is very essential for stable electric power supply.

  • As for the travel demand analysis of the past, forcasting has been conducted by the use of revealed preference(RP) informations about actual or observed choices made by individuals. Forcasting method using RP data needs implicit assumptions that there will be no remarkable changes in existing transport conditions. However in case of occuring the great changes in existing conditions or adding a new choice-set of hypothetical options, it is very difficult to predict future travel demand. Fortunately in recent years, especially in the mode choice analysis, it has been perceived that the importance of individual performance data using stated preference(SP) experiments as well as RP data. But the research reports has not been reported sufficiently from models estimated using SP data. Under this background, we analyze the factors affecting the mode choice behavior as a fundamental study against the modelling task with SP choice data. For this analysis, we assumed subway operations in the secondary cities where there are no subway lines until now, and set up a choice-set of hypothetical options based on Experimental Design Method.

  • Existing gas fired burners work in the medium wave IR range at $1000^{\circ}C$ and an energy density of $200kW/m^{2}$. The patented porous burner technology reaches the short wave IR spectrum ($1450^{\circ}C$) and comes up to an energy density of $1000kW/m^{2}$. This technology is of great interest for various applications in paper industry. Speeding up existing coating lines can be realized without a major revamp of the line. Main characteristics of this new developed technology enable a better process control. In this paper the porous burner technology for paper industry is evaluated.

  • The study aimed to develop the nightgown considering the construction and design features of the Shimui and the Cheolik. The analysis on the construction features of the Korean traditional costume and the physiological and motional attributes while sleeping resulted into the construction factors of the nightgown developed in the study. Consequently, the nightgown having these traditional Korean costume features were made for the evaluation. 4 different types of nightgowns were designed to be constructed. 20 professional clothing staff evaluated these 4 nightgowns developed and the existing nightgown used in the hotel industry. The results from the wearing test evaluation were: (1) to consider the stable closure of the gowns while wearing, the scores of the gowns developed were higher than the existing one. (2) the evaluations of the wearing comfort of the standing posture for the gowns developed and the existed were more or less similar but considering the lying down posture, the scores of the developed ones were significantly higher. (3) the gowns developed to have the wide-ham lines were considered more appropriate to the leg movement compared to the existing gown. The results from the fit and appearance test evaluation were: (1) throughout the all hight levels, the means of the gowns developed were higher than the existing gown's means in the most of the evaluation questions. (2) in the evaluation of the Korean traditional features, the gowns developed were more appropriate than the existing one. Consequently, the gowns developed were considered better to compare to the existing one in the context of postures, movements, comfort, appearance, fit, and design features.

  • With recent advancement of remote sensing technology, a variety of data acquisition over the same area is achievable. An automated co-registration of heterogeneous airborne images is a critical step for change detection. This paper describes an automatic method for co-registration between digital image and existing building model. Optimal building models for co-registration purpose are extracted as primitives from existing building model database. A set of homologous features between straight lines extracted from aerial digital image and model primitive are computed based on geometric similarity function. With obtained homologous features, EO parameter is recomputed using least square method. The result shows that die suggested method automatically co-register two data set in a reliable manner.

  • We have conducted observations toward the molecular cloud associated with the H II region Sh 156 in $^{13}CO$(J = 1-0), $C^{18}O$(J = 1-0), and CS(J = 2 -1) using the TRAO 14 m telescope. Combining with existing $^{12}CO$(J = 1- 0) data of the Outer Galaxy Survey, we delineated the physical properties of the cloud. We found that there is a significant sign of interaction between the H II region and the molecular gas. We estimated the masses of the molecular cloud, using three different techniques; the most plausible mass is estimated to be $1.37 {\times} 10^5 M_{\bigodot}$, using a conversion factor of $X = 1.9 {\times} 10^{20}\;cm^{-2} (K\;km\;s^{-1})^{-1}$, and this is similar to virial mass estimate. This implies that the cloud is gravitationally bound and in virial equilibrium even though it is closely associated with the H II region. In addition to existing outflow, we found several MSX and IRAS point sources associated with dense core regions. Thus, more star forming activities other than the existing H II region are also going on in this region.

  • Electrical Railroads provide electric power, which can operate vehicles, via feeder wires. And the supplied current returns to the transformer substation through lines and ground net. In domestic cases, the configuration of ground net affecting such a return current mostly uses an exclusive earth method. However, along with the introduction to Gyeongbu HSL(High Speed Line), the concept of Common Earth was applied to Electrical Railroads. In this paper, based on the return currents analyzed to be measured in the electrified sections for the operation of High Speed Rails in existing lines, we analyze the relations between earth methods and return currents in electrified sections. For analysis, we utilize the measured values of return currents measured in track circuits in Gyeongbu HSL, and predictive values of those compared to the earth methods between Gyeongbu HSL and the existing electrified sections.

  • This study develops pant patterns using body shape, measurement and shell mesh data to decide optimal women's pants according to styles with excellent size, fit and shape for different individuals and silhouettes. Standard landmarks, lines, triangles and structures were set on a 3D scanned lower body shell to represent women in their twenties and flattened as a 2D pattern. Patterns were created and analyzed according to culotte, formal, slacks and tight type considering crotch shape, location of the crotch point, and adjusting waist darts. Flattened patterns were rotated to compare existing methods. The crease lines were then set through the hip protrusion point and compared. The main factor of the pant pattern were extracted, total rise, crotch depth, crotch width, angle of center line, shape of the center line curve, the thigh width, the amount of waist dart, and crease line position. With going tight style from the culotte, the fits are closer to the figure with minimized thigh circumference, the dart amount decreases, the crotch depth increases, the crotch extensions were shorter, and the angle of the center back increased. The total rise is U shape for culotte and is closer to V shape as the silhouette tightens. T-test of appearance evaluation of the developed pant pattern were conducted after analyzing measurements and shapes of each styles. The results of the developed patterns were superior to existing patterns in accordance to hip line between body and pants as well as appearance evaluation. We found systematic mechanisms among pattern factors that create various pant silhouettes. Evidence on classification of the silhouettes of traditional types of pants were explained objectively through the process of playing out 3D forms.

  • Recently as AR(Augmented Reality) is focus of attention, AR is applied to various fields and is expected its valuable use. In this paper, we suggested the method to combine existing e_Book with augmented reality technology based on mobile equipment. We ascertained that augmented reality contents implemented on PC work well in pITX embedded lines (CPU Intel ATOM Z530) and we implemented augmented reality using marker in e_ Book in pITX embedded lines through these experiments. As the result of it, we could show the contents at the same time which had difficulty to be expressed on e_Book before. Also the existing augmented reality contents could be used as it is. Finally we expected that the user could interact with virtual contents or services directly and intuitively in the real world.
