관람자 행태에 의한 미술관 전시공간의 특성 연구 - 전시대상과 전시공간의 상관성을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Attribute of an Art Museum Exhibit Space by a Spectator Behavior)

  • The form and function of modern museum present more a variety of aspects in need of transition of the mature civil society and culture than the past. Considering that an art museum is the space where a multitude of unspecified visitors inspect simultaneously, exhibitions and adequate construction make visitors lead to successively visual contact. Consequently a goal of this study is to analyze that there is correlation between exhibit space and exhibitions and to suggest an alternative plan at exhibition through relationship among exhibitions, exhibit space and spectators' behavior. Two Art galleries (one is a large-sized gallery and the other is a small-sized one) located in Pyung-Chang dong were selected to analyze the correlation and suggest the better display for the exhibition. The finding of the study is following. The exhibit space which spectators recognize is assumed diverse forms by an unique characteristics of exhibits and space and an arrangement of exhibitions and the path of flow of spectator who walking ahead have an huge effect on a spectators' behavior. In other words, spectators' watching patterns are affected by display of exhibitions and the path of flow. That is to say, the spectators' behavior and the concentration to watch exhibitions is decided by the exhibit form in the museum, and the quality of watching experience is depended on the spectators' relevant knowledge prior to exhibitions.

메타버스환경에서 온라인 개인 전시 방법 연구 (Study On Online Platform For Personal Exhibition In Metaverse Emvironment)

  • 본 논문은 온라인 환경에서 작가들이 자립적으로 개인 전시를 열 수 있도록 메타버스 플랫폼을 바탕으로 전시공간을 구축하고 제공하기 위한 방향을 제안한다. 해마다 많은 작가가 배출되고 있음에도 많지 않은 미술관으로 인해 오프라인 전시가 힘들어지고 있는 상황에서 2019년 말부터 코로나로 인하여 오프라인 전시가 불가능해짐에 따라 그에 대한 대체 방안으로 온라인 전시가 대두되고 있다. 이를 위해 웹, 동영상, 가상현실 및 메타버스 환경 등 기존의 온라인 전시 방법 및 관객의 관람 방법의 사례를 분석하고 최근 주목받고 있는 메타버스 환경을 고려한 개인 전시 방향을 제시한다. 제안하는 메타버스 기반 개인 전시 방향은 작가들이 메타버스에서 공간을 구성하고 작품을 배치하고 이후 관람자들이 원격지에서 자유롭게 관람할 수 있도록 구성되었다. 제안하는 전시 방향을 바탕으로 대표적인 메타버스 플랫폼을 적용하여 전시공간 및 작품 구성과 사용자들의 전시체험에 대한 특성과 가능성을 확인하였다. 온라인 전시가 대두된 상황에서 오프라인 전시만이 아닌 온라인전시회에서 작가가 추구하는 방향으로 공간부터 구성할 수 있는 점과 경제적인 면을 부각하며, 코로나 종식 이후 온라인 전시가 부수적인 존재가 아닌 또 다른 장르의 전시회가 되기를 기대하며 작가들의 온라인 및 메타버스 안에서 개인 전시가 활성화되는데 기여하기를 기대한다.

  • With the continuous development of artificial intelligence using computers in the Fourth Industrial Age, the virtual space created by virtual reality experiences boosted by the power of artificial intelligence, provides a new experience for us. The purpose of this study is to explore the new aesthetics that the fashion industry provides to users in virtual space created by virtual reality technology. This research method is based on theoretical research on virtual reality technology and virtual space and constructs a research model applied to this research. The scope of this study is the application of virtual reality technology to fashion shows, fashion exhibitions, and fashion design apps on the website of professional virtual reality technology and fashion for the last five years from 2014 to 2019, which actively merged virtual reality technology with modern fashion. We will analyze the cases one by one. The results of this study are as follows. First, this study shows that the constructed virtual space of modern fashion using virtual reality technology creates three kinds of physical space, perceptual space, and imaginary space based on the commutative theory of virtual space formed by Swedish scholar J. $Widestr{\ddot{o}}m$. Second, virtual reality technology applied to fashion shows, fashion exhibitions, and fashion design apps is characterized by four aesthetic characteristics of presence, perceptual expansion, interactivity, and immersion in physical space, perception space, and imagination space.

국내 어린이 기획전시공간의 전시연출 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Production of Domestic Special Exhibitions for Children)

  • Recently people show interest in cultural exhibition space targeting on children from the birth of children to play and education. Accordingly, lately the necessity of professional special exhibition space, which is composed of changeable program fit to the children trend of a growth period, and shows relatively more freedom and adaptability in directing the theme than permanent exhibition, have increased rapidly. Today the social importance of special exhibition for children is emphasized as an alternative that can provide efficiently the expression of freedom and the environment of experimental space which is not filled in existing academy or school. The necessity of special exhibition space for children is raising to the climax at this moment, this study has the meaning to analyze the direction of domestic special exhibition for children progressed in last 1 year, and then to suggest basic guide and direction for future plan of special exhibitions.

포스트 코로나 시대의 AR(증강현실)전시 유형 연구 (A Study of AR Art Exhibitions in a Post-COVID World)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 코로나-19 이후 뮤지엄 운영이 차질을 빚고 있는 상황에서 발달하고 있는 VR 전시의 한계에 대해 논의하고, 그 대안으로 현재까지 소개된 여러 유형의 AR 전시를 뮤지엄 중심으로 연구하여 코로나 시대에 디지털 콘텐츠가 어떻게 효과적으로 변화하고 활용될 수 있는지 알아보는 데 있다. VR/AR 전시를 코로나-19를 전후로 살펴본 결과, VR은 대부분 현실을 동영상으로 촬영하여 소개하고 있어 미학적 현장감부재와 HMD 장비운영 문제를 드러낸다. 주로 보급률이 높은 모바일을 이용한 AR은 특정 실내 공간에서 콘텐츠를 감상할 수 있는 '뮤지엄용', 개방된 실외 공간에서 이용할 수 있는 '특정 장소형', 디지털 콘텐츠와 인쇄물에 접목하여 우편형식으로 발송 가능한 '불특정 장소형'으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 이중 특정/불특정 장소형은 실외 공간 및 우편 발송을 통해 가장 높은 비대면 효과를 나타내고 있어 펜데믹 시대의 효율적인 뮤지엄 콘텐츠 개발 방향을 제시할 수 있다.

한국만화전시의 인식변화와 새로운 방법론 (Change of Perception and New Methodology of Korean Cartoon Exhibition)

  • 만화는 충분한 가능성과 가치를 인정받으면서도 유난히 국내에서 활성화되지 못한 모습을 보여 주었다. 이는 만화에 대한 잘못된 인식과 변칙적 유통이 지난 수년간 반복되어 왔기 때문이다. 그러나 현재 만화는 오랫동안 가져왔던 고질적인 문제들에서 벗어나고 있으며 절호의 기회를 맞이하고 있다. 1990년대 중 후반에 들어와 만화를 주제로 대규모 행사가 열리고, 점차 만화에 대한 사회인식이 긍정적으로 자리 잡게 되면서 내용의 다원화와 독자층의 확대, 타 매체와의 조화를 통한 고정적 이미지 탈피가 그것이다. 최근 들어 만화를 통한 크고 작은 전시가 기획되고 있으며 우리나라의 만화가 해외로 진출하여 전시되기도 한다. 특히 관람객의 눈높이가 높아져 한때 저급문화로 보며 평가절하된 장르가 아닌 독립적인 연구가 활발해진 하나의 예술로 보는 시각으로 넓어지고 있다. 이렇듯 만화가 시각예술로 자리매김하게 된 계기는 다양한 장르와의 예술적 결합으로 이끌어 낸 전시형태가 한몫을 했다고 할 수 있겠다. 특히 요즘 개최되는 만화전시에서는 만화작가와 작품에 대한 이해를 돕는 단순한 관람용 도구가 아니라 만화장르가 지닌 다양한 요소들을 전시라는 방법을 통해 적극적으로 선보이고 있다. 만화라는 장르도 다변화하는 문화적 상황에 독자적인 본질을 반영하고 그 범위를 확장시킬 수 있는 능동적 주체로 인식되고 있는 것이다. 최근의 만화전시는 내용, 공간, 주제 등에 따라 연출과 구성면에서 탈장르적이며 복합적인 양상을 띠고 있다. 이러한 만화전시의 동향은 과거, 이미지 중심의 수평적 형식이 아닌 다양한 요소들을 세분화하고 분석하며 기획하고 있다는 의미일 것이다. 이처럼 만화전시는 여러 방법을 동원하고 조합하여 재현하는 방식의 형태로 진화하고 있다. 그러나 수많은 만화전시가 다양한 주제를 바탕으로 열리고 있음에도 불구하고 만화전시에 대한 형식과 내용적인 연구가 부족한 것이 현실이다. 이에 본 연구자는 만화전시가 만화에 대한 부정적 시선 탈피의 한 요인으로 보고 서울국제만화애니메이션페스티벌부터 최근까지 이루어진 다양한 만화전시를 짚어보면서 한국 만화전시의 의미를 살펴보았다. 아울러 현재 개최되고 있는 국제전이나 개인만화전시의 기획과 흥행의 요소를 찾아 이를 토대로 한국 만화전시의 새로운 방향과 가능성을 모색하고자 한다. 한층 기대치가 높아진 관람객의 욕구를 충족시키기 위해서는 기존 방식과 더불어 실험적이고 독창적인 기획을 지속적으로 시도해야 한다. 이를 위해서는 전시와 같이 만화작품과 만화작가 그리고 관람객이 서로 소통할 수 있는 기회의 장을 꾸준히 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문을 통해 만화전시에 대한 다각적인 연구들이 이루어지는 계기가 되고 새로운 만화전시에 대한 담론이 생산되었으면 한다.

주디스 클락의 패션 전시에 나타난 연출 특성 (A study on the characteristics of Judith Clark's fashion exhibitions)

  • Since the late 2000s, fashion exhibitions have expanded to encompass a variety of concepts and sizes, and the need for research on exhibition planning, installation, and direction, including curating, is emerging. In this context, basic research is deemed necessary to encourage more experimental and in-depth research into the planning and orientation of domestic fashion exhibitions. Accordingly, by analyzing the exhibitions of Judith Clark, a pioneering fashion curator, and fashion exhibition planner, the aim of this study is to examine the characteristics and directing points of her curation. This study proceeds as follows: first, the concept and type of fashion exhibition and curation are investigated. Second, the exhibition cases curated or produced and installed by Judith Clark are examined and analyzed. Finally, based on this analysis, the characteristics and directing points of her curation are identified. In exhibitions, Clark's directing style features use of a variety of objects, the diversification of the flow-path through space division, and collaborations with various fields or experts. Clark's curation points, based on such characteristics, are as follows: reproduction-oriented curation to capture the age of the time based on historical research; storytelling-based curation; and transboundary curation with multiple methods and open processes. This study is expected to serve as a foundation and precedent that will lead to further research on fashion exhibitions and implementation.

현대 패션 전시의 유형별 연출 기법과 특성 연구 (A Study on Display Techniques and Characteristics of Contemporary Fashion Exhibitions)

  • The article surveys the technique and characteristics of contemporary fashion exhibitions in terms of fashion museography and fashion curation. The article reviewed both a literature study on the history of fashion exhibition focused on the display technique as well as a case study of domestic and international contemporary fashion exhibitions. The results of the article is as follows. Fashion brand exhibitions are about building competitive business advantage by planning differentiated contents. It gives viewers a brand fantasy and increases brand loyalty. This type mainly displays the latest collections on the commercial purpose as well as uses diverse mediums and high technology to make a spectacular space that provides an immersive experience to the viewer. Second, the museum fashion exhibition focuses on the roles of fashion in terms of social, cultural and artistic aspects that also focus on public education. The presentation technique emphasizes careful collection conservation rather than celebrate fashion business. The article is to encourage a further scholar discourse of fashion curatorial practice and theory.

서사성 발현을 통한 뮤지엄 전시의 공간 내러티브에 관한 연구 - 전곡선사박물관의 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Space Narrative of Museum Exhibition through the Narrativity Expression - Focused on the Jeon-gok Prehistory Museum -)

  • Modern museums introduce a so-called method of 'exhibitions that approach' apart from the scheme of exhibitions in a simple listing type, creating a series of stories based on the original forms of remains put on display, adopting various methods of media access, and enabling the spectators of the museums to find exhibits a little more convincing and understand them more in depth, which might look somewhat isolated from their everyday lives. The configuration of the exhibitions that approach can easily be found in the mode of narrative development of exhibition topics and scenarios, and in this sense, a study on the narrativity of exhibitions is effective for analyzing the exhibition spaces of the museums. Furthermore, an analysis on exhibition spaces may be conducted through the process of forming the messages of exhibition contents and interpreting the narrative structures of the modes of development, and allows people to think that the methods of interpreting the spaces established like this may form an organic complementary relationship with exhibition contents and have a more extended meaning. Thus, this study examines the narrativity of Jeon-gok prehistory museum and the narrative structure systems based on the structuralist narrative theory, approaches the modes of narrative development of the spaces based on semiotic judgment, and aims to understand the structures of the space narrative. In addition, It is another object of the present invention in order to verify the objectivity, throughout the course of additional case studies, to improve the efficiency of future exhibition design.

The Impact of the User Characteristics of the VR Exhibition on Space Participation and Immersion

  • With the advent of the 5G, networks and information and communication technologies have been continuously developed. In the fields of art galleries, virtual reality (VR) exhibitions that can be visited online have emerged, innovating the way of human-computer interaction and creating new artistic experiences for users. This study explores the three-dimensionality, clarity, and innovative interactions that users experience when viewing a VR exhibit, which affects the exhibit's presence. Besides, in terms of research method, the research sets spatial participation and immersion as dependent variables, with three-dimensionality (high versus low), clarity (high versus low), and innovation (high versus low) in a 2×2×2 design as the base, and explores their interaction effects. The results show that three-dimensionality and innovative interactions affect spatial participation. First of all, in groups with high innovation and low three-dimensionality, spatial participation presents a higher positive factor. Secondly, with regard to immersion, three-dimensionality, clarity and innovation present a tripartite interaction. Groups with low three-dimensionality and high clarity have a higher positive effect on immersion when the level of innovation is low. When the degree of innovation is high, the positive effect on immersion is higher in groups with high three-dimensionality and low clarity. The above results show that in the production of VR exhibitions, it is necessary to increase the three-dimensionality and clarity of exhibited image contents, while taking into account the user's perception and innovativeness. On the other hand, this study puts forward suggestions for the design, content and future development of VR exhibitions, which has important reference significance for the improvement and innovation of future VR exhibitions.
