An Empirical Study on Evaluation of Agricultural Machinery Expo Using IPA Analysis (IPA 분석을 통한 농기계박람회 평가에 관한 실증연구)

  • This empirical study evaluated the 2016 Cheonan KIEMSTA(Korea International Exhibition of Machinery, Equipment, Science and Technology for Agriculture) based on an exhibitor's view. A total of 15 items of importance and performance were selected and 4 quadrants were analyzed for further analysis. The results revealed the following significant factors:concentration region with generating sales, exploring market opportunities in a new region, and meeting key decision makers; the Overkill region with collecting information regarding thecompetitor's product, demonstrating thecompany's capability, increasing staff's trade show experience, and training the sales teams; Low priority region with discovering new products, exploring export opportunities in a foreign market, and gaining an edge over competitors who are not exhibiting; and Keep up the work region bymaintaining relationships with existing customers, collecting market information, benchmarking competitor's position, introducing new product, and motivating sales people.

Structural Causality between Service Quality, Emotional Response, Perceived Value and Satisfaction : focused on Yeosu Expo 2012 (여수세계박람회 서비스품질, 감정반응, 지각된 가치 및 만족 간 구조적 인과관계)

  • This research has analyzed the influence of Yeosu Expo's service quality on emotion, perceived value and satisfaction. First of all, the Yeosu Expo's service quality scale was composed with five types of levels : exhibition contents, quality of performance, human service, approach convenience and necessary expense. As the result of influence analysis, exhibition contents, quality of performance and necessary expense had significant influence on attendee's positive emotion. Exhibition contents, necessary expense and approach convenience to approach showed significant influence in perceived value, and necessary expense related to the expo had the highest influence among the three values. Also, the attendee's positive emotion and perceived value towards service from expo was analyzed to have satisfactorily significant influence.

  • This study is aimed to point out the direction for more reasonable and effective application of future digital technology in the exhibition. It's also to improve the satisfaction of visitors' overall experience through inspecting the special exhibition using digital technology in the national central museum in 2019. The relationship of visitors' expectations, experience and satisfaction are analyzed through literature investigation. Hence, four dimensions of digital experience were summarized on this basis, the content of the questionnaire was set through this research. The satisfaction of visitors to the digital technology experience was evaluated and the key contents needing to be improved were found through Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). According to the IPA analysis, the content located in quadrant IV is analyzed emphatically, and improvement suggestions are put forward from macro-level, micro-level and viewer's inner levels. The results can be used as a reference for improving the feasibility of the current problem. In order to ensure the forward-looking and timeliness of this field, continuous research will be conducted according to the changes and developments.

  • This study is intended to propose a plan index that can be used in the early stage of a museum design based on theoretical review of a major space of a museum including its spatial division, functions and roles. The scope of the study includes functions and roles of circulation in a major space based on precedent studies. The spatial range is limited to a major space among exhibition spaces in a museum. This study analyzes overseas 14 museums. In terms of methodology, the study analyzes circulation in a descriptive way only In the focusing on floor plan and section composition. The results of this study are as follows. First, vertical elements should be critically considered in a circulation plan for functional performance of dimensional circulation distribution in a major space. Second, a plan by location of vertical and horizontal moving elements related to a major space affects a circulation relation more than a connection type between a major space and an exhibition area.

Indoor Air Quality Evaluation of Commercial Urban Regeneration Modular Structure According to Space Usage (상업용 도시재생 모듈러 건축물의 공간이용에 따른 실내공기질 평가)

  • From 2000s, modular construction has gained more attention due to many advantages such as reduction of duration, recycling. The modular structure is being used for urban regeneration recently. However, even though most facilities in the modular structures which are used as urban regeneration building are commercial spaces, exhibition spaces, eating and drinking spaces, there are lack of natural or mechanical ventilation systems. Also, there are relatively limited spaces on modular structure characteristic. Therefore, indoor environment performance of four buildings, which are performed as urban regeneration in Seoul, was evaluated by HCHO and $CO_2$ emissions. Consequently, the HCHO and $CO_2$ emissions of the commercial and exhibition spaces were confirmed that can influence on health of occupants. Therefore, the urban regeneration modular structure needs to add local ventilation systems for improvement of indoor air quality to more healthy and comfortable.

The Intelligent Determination Model of Audience Emotion for Implementing Personalized Exhibition (개인화 전시 서비스 구현을 위한 지능형 관객 감정 판단 모형)

  • Recently, due to the introduction of high-tech equipment in interactive exhibits, many people's attention has been concentrated on Interactive exhibits that can double the exhibition effect through the interaction with the audience. In addition, it is also possible to measure a variety of audience reaction in the interactive exhibition. Among various audience reactions, this research uses the change of the facial features that can be collected in an interactive exhibition space. This research develops an artificial neural network-based prediction model to predict the response of the audience by measuring the change of the facial features when the audience is given stimulation from the non-excited state. To present the emotion state of the audience, this research uses a Valence-Arousal model. So, this research suggests an overall framework composed of the following six steps. The first step is a step of collecting data for modeling. The data was collected from people participated in the 2012 Seoul DMC Culture Open, and the collected data was used for the experiments. The second step extracts 64 facial features from the collected data and compensates the facial feature values. The third step generates independent and dependent variables of an artificial neural network model. The fourth step extracts the independent variable that affects the dependent variable using the statistical technique. The fifth step builds an artificial neural network model and performs a learning process using train set and test set. Finally the last sixth step is to validate the prediction performance of artificial neural network model using the validation data set. The proposed model is compared with statistical predictive model to see whether it had better performance or not. As a result, although the data set in this experiment had much noise, the proposed model showed better results when the model was compared with multiple regression analysis model. If the prediction model of audience reaction was used in the real exhibition, it will be able to provide countermeasures and services appropriate to the audience's reaction viewing the exhibits. Specifically, if the arousal of audience about Exhibits is low, Action to increase arousal of the audience will be taken. For instance, we recommend the audience another preferred contents or using a light or sound to focus on these exhibits. In other words, when planning future exhibitions, planning the exhibition to satisfy various audience preferences would be possible. And it is expected to foster a personalized environment to concentrate on the exhibits. But, the proposed model in this research still shows the low prediction accuracy. The cause is in some parts as follows : First, the data covers diverse visitors of real exhibitions, so it was difficult to control the optimized experimental environment. So, the collected data has much noise, and it would results a lower accuracy. In further research, the data collection will be conducted in a more optimized experimental environment. The further research to increase the accuracy of the predictions of the model will be conducted. Second, using changes of facial expression only is thought to be not enough to extract audience emotions. If facial expression is combined with other responses, such as the sound, audience behavior, it would result a better result.

The Effects of a Marine Leisure Exhibition Event's Service Quality Dissatisfaction on Complaining Behaviors and Repurchase Intentions (해양레저전시이벤트의 서비스품질 불만족이 불평행동 및 재구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study were to analyze the effects of a marine leisure exhibition event(MLEE)'s service quality dissatisfaction levels on complaining behaviors and repurchase intentions and thus to provide fundamental marketing information for the event to be more successful. In order to accomplish such study purposes, this study employed a survey method with a total of 350 visitors to a MLEE hosted by G Province in 2012. The data collected were analyzed using multiple regression analysis and following findings were derived from current study. First, levels of service quality dissatisfaction were ranged from 3.29 point to 3.85 point at 7 point Likert scale. Second, both environment and exhibition facility had a positive effect on visitors' complaining behaviors, and both employee and environment factors had a positive effect on non complaining behavior. Third, only exhibition facility had a negative effect on repurchase behaviors including revisit intention and recommendation intention. Finally, complaining behavior had a negative effect on recommendation intention as well as revisit intention. Such findings provide important marketing information for induce more visitors to a MLEE, which are an index for the event's performance.

Study on the Development of Environmental Design Checklist at Exhibition Facility Based on Physical Characteristics of the Elderly (고령자의 신체특성을 반영한 전시시설 환경디자인 체크리스트 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The whole world enters the ageing era and 'lifelong education' is issued where the elderly can learn knowledge and techniques caused by era-change. Museum is a cultural public-facility and taking roles to provide education with spatial composition of contents and articles at exhibition. Therefore, museum can be a learning space for the elderly, performance of learning, environmental support to museum is required considering their physical characteristics. This study aims to develop a environmental design checklist at museum and to provide a frame for environmental plans to support the elderly for smooth watching of exhibition and education at museum. The environmental design checklist at museum was drawn for the spaces for entry, exhibition, public-service, educational activity and movement at museum, based on physical characteristics of the elderly or the criteria of 'sense (eye-sight, hearing and feeling by tough)' / 'exercise (skeleton, movement, physical strength and muscular strength). The environmental design checklist at museum for the elderly was composed newly by combining existing related acts, manuals, and preceded studies. For future studies, actual survey items at site and questionnaires for the elderly watchers were drawn.

  • In this paper, we designed a multi humanoid robot control method for performing an exhibition that will maximize the efficiency and user convenience and implementation. In recent years, an increasing number of case and to take advantage of the robots in the field performances and exhibitions, plays, musicals, orchestra performances are also various genres. In concert with the existing small humanoid exhibition to source from outside by using a computer and MP3 player and play, while pressing the start button of communication equipment for the show to start the robot began performing with the zoom. Thus, due to the dual source and robot operation and synchronization does not work well is the synchronization of the start of the concert sound starting point of the robot and robot motion and sound are reproduced separately were frequently occurs when you need to restart the show. In addition, when the center of gravity or lose the robots who were present during the performance problems such as performance or intervene to restart the show. In order to overcome this, in this paper, Multi-small humanoid robot was designed to control the efficiency and the user of the GUI-based human interface S/W to maximize convenience, Zigbee communication to transmit a plurality of data in al small humanoid It was used. In addition, targeting a number of the small humanoid robot demonstrated the effectiveness and validity of the user's convenience by gender actual implementation.

Analyzing the User Intention of Booth Recommender System in Smart Exhibition Environment (스마트 전시환경에서 부스 추천시스템의 사용자 의도에 관한 조사연구)

  • Exhibitions have played a key role of effective marketing activity which directly informs services and products to current and potential customers. Through participating in exhibitions, exhibitors have got the opportunity to make face-to-face contact so that they can secure the market share and improve their corporate images. According to this economic importance of exhibitions, show organizers try to adopt a new IT technology for improving their performance, and researchers have also studied services which can improve the satisfaction of visitors through analyzing visit patterns of visitors. Especially, as smart technologies make them monitor activities of visitors in real-time, they have considered booth recommender systems which infer preference of visitors and recommender proper service to them like on-line environment. However, while there are many studies which can improve their performance in the side of new technological development, they have not considered the choice factor of visitors for booth recommender systems. That is, studies for factors which can influence the development direction and effective diffusion of these systems are insufficient. Most of prior studies for the acceptance of new technologies and the continuous intention of use have adopted Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM). Booth recommender systems may not be new technology because they are similar with commercial recommender systems such as book recommender systems, in the smart exhibition environment, they can be considered new technology. However, for considering the smart exhibition environment beyond TAM, measurements for the intention of reuse should focus on how booth recommender systems can provide correct information to visitors. In this study, through literature reviews, we draw factors which can influence the satisfaction and reuse intention of visitors for booth recommender systems, and design a model to forecast adaptation of visitors for booth recommendation in the exhibition environment. For these purposes, we conduct a survey for visitors who attended DMC Culture Open in November 2011 and experienced booth recommender systems using own smart phone, and examine hypothesis by regression analysis. As a result, factors which can influence the satisfaction of visitors for booth recommender systems are the effectiveness, perceived ease of use, argument quality, serendipity, and so on. Moreover, the satisfaction for booth recommender systems has a positive relationship with the development of reuse intention. For these results, we have some insights for booth recommender systems in the smart exhibition environment. First, this study gives shape to important factors which are considered when they establish strategies which induce visitors to consistently use booth recommender systems. Recently, although show organizers try to improve their performances using new IT technologies, their visitors have not felt the satisfaction from these efforts. At this point, this study can help them to provide services which can improve the satisfaction of visitors and make them last relationship with visitors. On the other hands, this study suggests that they managers along the using time of booth recommender systems. For example, in the early stage of the adoption, they should focus on the argument quality, perceived ease of use, and serendipity, so that improve the acceptance of booth recommender systems. After these stages, they should bridge the differences between expectation and perception for booth recommender systems, and lead continuous uses of visitors. However, this study has some limitations. We only use four factors which can influence the satisfaction of visitors. Therefore, we should development our model to consider important additional factors. And the exhibition in our experiments has small number of booths so that visitors may not need to booth recommender systems. In the future study, we will conduct experiments in the exhibition environment which has a larger scale.
