A structural control algorithm using CMAC(Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) neural network is proposed Learning rule for CMAC is derived based on cost function. Learning convergence of CMAC is compared with MLNN(Multilayer Neural Network). Numerical examples are shown to verify the proposed control algorithm. Examples show that CMAC can be applicable to structural control with fast learning speed.

In this manuscript, we consider electromagnetic imaging of perfectly conducting cracks completely hidden in a homogeneous material via boundary measurements. For this purpose, we carefully derive a topological derivative formula based on the asymptotic expansion formula for the existence of a perfectly conducting inclusion with a small radius. With this, we introduce a topological derivative based imaging algorithm and discuss its properties. Various numerical examples with noisy data show the effectiveness and limitations of the imaging algorithm.

We provide a step-by-step, easy-to-follow procedure for the method of controlled Lagrangian systems. We apply this procedure to solve the energy shaping problem for four benchmark examples: the inertial wheel pendulum, an inverted pendulum on a cart, the system of ball and beam and the Furuta pendulum.

The increase need for agricultural machinery production and its globalization through international Joint ventures are discussed in this paper. Examples of joint businesses for the overseas manufacturing of farm machinery are given and problems are pointed out. Overseas production of automobiles is illustrated through a few examples and suggestions are made for farm machinery production . Measures to be taken to promote global production of agricultural machinery through international joint ventures are mentioned.

This paper has two objectives. The first objective is to study slant submanifolds of quaternion Kaehler manifolds. We give characterization theorems and examples of slant submanifolds. For the second objective, we introduce the notion of semi-slant submanifolds which are different from the definition of N. Papaghiuc [15]. We obtain characterization theorems, examples of semi-slant sub manifolds and investigate the geometry of leaves of distributions which are involved in the definition of semi-slant submanifolds.

We provide some examples around AP and WAP spaces which are connected with higher convergence properties-radiality, semiradiality and pseudoradiality. We also prove a theorem (Theorem 3.2) that (a) any pseudo-open continuous image of an AP-space is an AP-space and (b) any pseudo-open continuous image of an WAP-space is an WAP-space. This answers the question posed by V. V. Tkachuk and I. V. Yaschenko [10].

We extend the work of A. Beauville on rank 2 vector bundles on a smooth curve in several directions. We give families of examples with large dimension, add new existence and non-existence results and prove the existence of indecomposable limits with arbitrary rank. To construct the large dimensional families we use the examples of limits of rank 2 trivial bundles on ℙ² and ℙ³ due to C. Banica. We also consider a more flexible notion: limits of trivial bundles on nearby curves.

A 2-D four-noded finite element which contains a ${\lambda}$ singularity is developed. The new element is compatible with quadratic standard isoparametric elements. The element is tested on two different examples. In the first example, an edge crack problem is analyzed using two different meshes and different integration orders. The second example is a crack perpendicular to the interface problem which is solved for different material properties and in turn different singularity order ${\lambda}$. The results of those examples illustrate the efficiency of the proposed element.

This paper considers inspection station location problem for a flexible assembly line that consists of multiple stages. By considering the trade-off between locating an station at an "early" stage and at a "late" stage, we have developed some dominance relations on a graph. Based on the dominance relations, we then present an algorithm that finds an optimal inspection plan and a heuristic approach that finds a near-optimal inspection plan. The effectiveness of these two algorithms is demonstrated by two numerical examples. numerical examples.

The algebraic structure of the natural integral cohomology operations is explored by means of examples. We decompose the generators of the groups $H^m(\mathbb{Z},\;n)$ with $2\;{\leq}\;n\;{\leq}\;7$ and $2\;{\leq}\;m\;{\leq}\;13$ into the operations of cup products, cross-cap products and compositions. Examination of these decompositions and comparison with other possible generators demonstrates the existence of relations between integral operations that have withheld formulation. The calculated groups and generators are collected in a table for practical reference.
