  • Having previously presented an article entitled "Further approximate optimum inspection intervals" in this Journal, here the author derives an alternative set of general explicit formulae using Cardan's solution to a cubic equation and presents a modified heuristic algorithm for solving Baker's model. The examples show that this new alternative approximate solution procedure for determining near optimum inspection intervals is as accurate and computationally efficient as the one suggested in the previous article. Through the examples, the author also indicates the relative merits and demerits of the two algorithms.

  • In this expository paper, we present an abridged report on the max-plus eigenspaces of max-plus matrices with its brief history. At the end of our work, a number of examples are presented with maple codes, and then we make a claim from the observation of these examples, which is on the euclidean dimension of the max-plus eigenspaces of strongly definite matrices.

  • We define a new algebraic structure called Legendrian racks or racks with Legendrian structure, motivated by the front-projection Reidemeister moves for Legendrian knots. We provide examples of Legendrian racks and use these algebraic structures to define invariants of Legendrian knots with explicit computational examples. We classify Legendrian structures on racks with 3 and 4 elements. We use Legendrian racks to distinguish certain Legendrian knots which are equivalent as smooth knots.

  • We present ${\alpha}$-type rational F-contractions in metric-like spaces, and respective fixed and common fixed point results for weakly ${\alpha}$-admissible mappings. Useful examples illustrate the effectiveness of the presented results. As applications, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions of a certain type of integral equations followed by examples of nonlinear fractional differential equations that are verified numerically.

  • In this paper, topological entropy of iterated function systems (IFS) on one dimensional spaces is considered. Estimation of an upper bound of topological entropy of piecewise monotone IFS is obtained by open covers. Then, we provide a way to calculate topological entropy of piecewise monotone IFS. In the following, some examples are given to illustrate our theoretical results. Finally, we have a discussion about the possible applications of these examples in various sciences.

  • In this paper we study the structures and properties of a single cycle T-finction, whose theory has been lately proposed by Klimov and Shamir. Any cryptographic system based on T-functions may be insecure. Some of the TSC-series stream ciphers have been successfully attacked by some attacks. So it is important to analyze every aspect of a single cycle T-function. We study some properties on a single cycle T-function and we show some examples are single cycle T-functions by these properties, whose proof is easier than existing methods.

  • The boundary conditions $\tilde{P}_0$ and $\tilde{P}_1$ were introduced in [5] by using the Hodge decomposition on the de Rham complex. In [6] the Atiyah-Bott-Lefschetz type fixed point formulas were proved on a compact Riemannian manifold with boundary for some special type of smooth functions by using these two boundary conditions. In this paper we slightly extend the result of [6] and give two examples showing these fixed point theorems.

  • This paper aims to provide a general review of Opinion Dynamics (OD) and its related models, along with application examples for special agents. We will discuss special classes of social actors, such as informed actors, opponents, and extremists, in the context of opinion dynamics. Our main objective is to determine the extent to which opinion dynamics, as a mathematical sociology, relates to social reality. To achieve this, we present key elements of mathematical sociology in Opinion Dynamics, which we then apply to real socioeconomic phenomena using modeling assumptions and mathematical formulations.
