  • The Gauge-Uzawa method [GUM] in [9] which is a projection type algorithm to solve evolution Navier-Stokes equations has many advantages and superior performance. But this method has been studied for backward Euler time discrete scheme which is the first order technique, because the classical second order GUM requests rather strong stability condition. Recently, the second order time discrete GUM was modified to be unconditionally stable and estimated errors in [12]. In this paper, we contemplate several GUMs which can be derived by the same manner within [12], and we dig out properties of them for both stability and accuracy. In addition, we evaluate an stability condition for the classical GUM to construct an adaptive GUM for time to make free from strong stability condition of the classical GUM.

  • The evolution of EDI has opened the flexible and efficient way for business to conduct a greater portion of the routine buyer-seller business activities online. This study focuses on the role of factors that change the innovation characteristics for implementation success of EDI. Three factors promotional efforts, proactive implementation strategy, and provision of technical expertise are proposed to affect EDI implementation success, as these factors directly influence three general and most important attributes of innovation relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity respectively. Hypotheses indicate that promotional efforts, proactive implementation strategy, and provision of technical expertise directly affect EDI implementation success that is represented by three variables volume, depth, and diversity. A structural equation modeling approach(LISREL) is used to analyze data from EDI adopters. The results show that proactive implementation strategy and provision of technical expertise positively affect implementation success of EDI. Given the significant impact of the wide spread use of the EDI system, this study offers quite useful insights on the factors facilitating innovation characteristics under which EDI can be successfully diffused in organizations.

  • In this paper, we study the existence of classical and generalized solutions for nonlinear differential inclusions $x^{\prime}(t){\in}F(t,x(t))$ in Hilbert spaces in which the multifunction F on the right-hand side is hemicontinuous and satisfies the semimonotone condition or is condensing. Our existence results are obtained via the selection and fixed point methods by reducing the problem to an ordinary differential equation. We first prove the existence theorem in finite dimensional spaces and then we generalize the results to the infinite dimensional separable Hilbert spaces. Then we apply the results to prove the existence of the mild solution for semilinear evolution inclusions. At last, we give an example to illustrate the results obtained in the paper.

  • The fractional order evolutionary integral equations have been considered by first author in [6], the existence, uniqueness and some other properties of the solution have been proved. Here we study the continuation of the solution and its fractional order derivative. Also we study the generality of this problem and prove that the fractional order diffusion problem, the fractional order wave problem and the initial value problem of the equation of evolution are special cases of it. The abstract diffusion-wave problem will be given also as an application.

  • In the present study, deposition of discrete and small particles on a filter fiber was simulated by stochastic method. Trajectory of each particle was numerically solved by Langevin equation. And Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) was used to solve flow field around the filter collector for considering complex shape of deposit layer. Interaction between the flow field and the deposit layer was obtained from a converged solution from an inner-loop calculation. Simulation method is properly validated with filtration theory and collection efficiency due to different filtration parameters are examined and discussed. Morphology of deposit layer and its evolution was visualized in terms of the particle size. The particle loaded effect on collection efficiency was also discussed.

  • Several models physically based to predict the evolution of the snowpack have been proposed. Validity of these models for hourly estimation is, however, questionable, since they have been tested only on a daily basis. A computational model to predict the amount of snowpack on an hourly basis in terms of snowload from a set of meterological measurements was developed and investigated the rapid snowmelt conditions during Fohn events in the Takada plain.

  • The stabilized Gauge-Uzawa method (SGUM), which is a second order projection type algorithm to solve the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations, has been newly constructed in 2013 Pyo's paper. The accuracy of SGUM has been proved only for time discrete scheme in the same paper, but it is crucial to study for fully discrete scheme, because the numerical errors depend on discretizations for both space and time, and because discrete spaces between velocity and pressure can not be chosen arbitrary. In this paper, we find out properties of the fully discrete SGUM and estimate its errors and stability to solve the evolution Navier-Stokes equations. The main difficulty in this estimation arises from losing some cancellation laws due to failing divergence free condition of the discrete velocity function. This result will be extended to Boussinesq equations in the continuous research (part II) and is essential in the study of part II.

  • A numerical study has been carried out on the evolution of the particle size distribution for unipolar charged particles that experience coagulation in an alternating electric field. The collision frequency function of charged particles was analytically derived. The log-normal size distribution function is utilized for representing a poly-disperse size distribution and the moments of the particle size distribution are used to solve the general dynamic equation considering only AC electric force effect. The results are compared with the effects of brownian coagulation.

  • This paper presents a neural network-based computational scheme to generate the optimized robotic assembly sequence for an assembly product consisting of a number of parts. An assembly sequence is considered to be optimal when it meets a number of conditions : it must satisfy assembly constraints, keep the stability of in-process subassemblies, and minimize assembly cost. To derive such an optimal sequence, we propose a scheme using both the Hopfield neural network and the expert system. Based upon the inferred precedence constraints and the assembly costs from the expert system, we derive the evolution equation of the network. To illustrate the suitability of the proposed scheme, a case study is presented for industrial product of an electrical relay. The result is compared with that obtained from the expert system.

  • Stability of a Bi-2223/Ag tape was studied by using a numerical method. A numerical modeling has been developed to analyze the dynamic evolution of normal zone in a composite tape Bi-2223/Ag. In this paper, the stability of HTS tape is studied by considering the non-uniform temperature distribution in a cross-sectional area. The finite-difference method(FDM) is used to solve the two-dimensional heat conduction equation. Two kinds of analyses are compared to quantify the critical disturbance energy fur quenching HTS tapes. One is the length-thickness(x-y) side and the other is the length-width(x-z) side. The results of analyses shows that the critical disturbance energies for each cases seem to be very close for considered Bi-2223/Ag tape.
