  • In order to investigate the seismic behavior and seismic design methods in the transverse direction of a shield tunnel, a series of model shaking table tests and a two-dimensional finite element dynamic analysis on the tests are carried out. Two kinds of static analytical methods based on ground-tunnel composite finite element model and beam-spring element model are proposed, and the validity of the static analyses is verified by model shaking table tests. The investigation concerns the dynamic response behavior of a tunnel and the ground, the interaction between the tunnel and ground, and an evaluation of different seismic design methods. Results of the investigation indicate that the shield tunnel follows the surrounding ground in displacement and dynamic characteristics in the transverse direction; also, the static analytical methods proposed by the authors can be used directly as the seismic design methods in the transverse direction of a shield tunnel.

  • Described in this paper is the software to design of a railway interlocking table, which describes the functional specifications of an interlocking device. Interlocking tables has been designed mainly based on personal expertise among signal engineers. However, this expertise needs to be analyzed with technical uniformity and integrated in an organized system. The proposed software is amount to the signal engineer's expertise, yet a generalization of interlocking reasoning. The algorithm is based on the train route setting principle, and is applicable in solving practical problems by computers. The software was evaluated through man-made and machine-made interlocking tables are compared. The evaluation results proves the software to be effective for computer control of the signaling system as interlocking system with a much improved safety.

  • Shaking table tests were performed to investigate the response of liquefaction mitigation of rammed aggregate piers(RAP) on soft ground. The displacements of the soft ground reinforced by RAP under area replacement ratio 7, 14, 28% during seismic loading were measured. The result of tests showed that effects of liquefaction mitigation were affected various area replacement ratios and ground acceleration on RAP systems.

  • The effects of drainage system on evapotranspiration and drainage flows are studied. Data from drainage field experiment at Castalia in North Central Branch, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center were used in this study. A water table management model, ADATP (Agricultural Drainage and Pesticide Transport), which was developed by combining the GLEAMS and the subsurface drainage part of the DRAINMOD model with several modifications, was evaluated and used to predict hydrologic components. The ET is very much affected by the presence of tile drainage system but not significantly affected by the surface drainage system. The combined surface and subsurface drainage system gives the largest total outflow values while the surface drainage only system gives the smallest. Comparisons of model predicted and measured values of surface runoff only, subsurface drainage only, and combined surface runoff and subsurface drainage system are in satisfactory agreement. The model predicted values are within the range of the variations of the observed replications in general. Based on the results of the model evaluation study, it is concluded that ADAPT model can be used to design water table management systems.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate seismic performances of a modular house system developed by a simple 4-clip fastening method and double metal assembly made of lightweight metals. In order to evaluate structural and non-structural seismic performances of the system. Shaking table test was carried out with full-scale modular units, and a nonlinear pushover analysis was performed to obtain suitable seismic responses for story drifts, displacements, force resistances and dynamic properties of the system. Through 3D analysis and shaking table test, the current method of lightweight modular metal unit assembly and systems with seismic performance of a 4-clip fastening type modular house were demonstrated safe and effective to seismic design.

  • To determine the quality control of UGIS, we acquired 105 patients sampling image at 21 general screening centers. The results of image quality evaluation table containing two countries's UGIS showed that the mean of image qualified education table of our country was 73.3 and the standard error was 4.49; In addition, 19 organizations of 21 general screening centers were given appropriate judgement. The average of image qualified education table of Japan was 58 and the standard error was 4.45. Only 8 organizations were given appropriate judgement. Although we made the image quality evaluation tables with same images, there were many differences in the result of two tables. We figured out the problem about the description of whole stomach and photograph skills. Furthermore, we analysed the situation of the UGIS at each general screening center with the acquired images. The biggest problem of the UGIS of our country was that the procedures were performed without clear medical methods. Methods of UGIS were different at every 21 general screening centers, and most of them did not take exam of anterior surface of stomach of the UGIS. In addition, some general screening centers did not include mucosal relief method or esophagography which is required to include in the image qualified education table of our country. Because polisography is used in the same body position, the problem occured about indiscreet exposure dose of patients. Therefore we have to make an effort to get X-ray images which have enough diagnosis information by the quality control of UGIS.

  • Technical efficiency of semiforcing watermelon growers is 0.8248 on average, and distributed between 0.6744 and 0.9268. The result showed that semiforcing watermelon growers had by 18% of technical inefficiency and could be assumed that increasing technical efficiency could induce watermelon production more increase. Consequently, if growers' technical efficiency were improved while other environments were constant, watermelon production could be increased. Following the results from the inefficiency effect model, all assumption coefficient such as growers age etc, are significant at 10% level. Estimate of dispersion parameter ${\gamma}$ is 0.89, which confirms those differences between practical output and frontier output were derived from the technical efficiencies among growers. Differences of production system between high and low level growers in production efficiency were showed at side altitude, ventilation and heat-retaining in section of facilities and automation, soil test and calcium application in section of environment management, transplant preparation and duration of pollination in section of crop management and shipment place, sorting degree and management record analysis in section of business management respectively. As a result of analyzing consulting data by using standard diagnosis table of watermelon cultivation under structure which cultivated on semi-forced watermelon growers, gap between high and low level growers was 7.0 points in facility automation section, 7.1 points in environment section, 8.8 points in crop management section and 13.6 points in business management section, respectively, which were the biggest one among them. In case of excluding information-related items from the evaluation index of business management section, changes of business achievement are to occur. Therefore, it is recommended for us to review the standard diagnostic table of watermelon cultivation under structure by dividing evaluation index of management section into management and information.

  • In order to answer the research question of 'how the listed World Cultural Heritage is being managed now?' the indicators of management effectiveness evaluation were set up based on international principles on the basis of the preceding research. The weights and priorities of each evaluation indicators were worked out through the Analytic Network Process(ANP) Technique. Therefore, the evaluation system to evaluate the management status of the World Heritage Sites have been established. Also, through calculate the converted score of 100 points based on the relative importance of these evaluation indicators among the World Heritage Site management effectiveness evaluation index for scoring and the score table was created. When evaluated for the management status of World Heritage Sites to set five rating of the final evaluation score: very deficiency, deficiency, general, good, excellent. According to the results the follow-up study will be carried out in the future.

  • This paper presents an applicable basic design that can configure non-contact levitation table for conveying a large sheet of glass. The suggested air levitation table consists of a series of air chambers with porous pads and fans as the conveyor system. The air supply chambers are arrayed to supply an adequately strong upward airflow for supporting the glass. Levitation is controlled by the size and discharge velocity, of the chamber arrays, as well as the glass supporting height. After pre-evaluation of the glass rigidity and the filer functional performance, a one-way fluid structure interface (FSI) analysis is performed for predicting pressure and deflection working of the 8G glass in the transverse and longitudinal directions, respectively. After comparing calculated levels of flatness of the glass, it determines the chamber array for the linear non-contact conveying motion.
