VALIDATION OF ON-LINE MONITORING TECHNIQUES TO NUCLEAR PLANT DATA

  • The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) demonstrated a method for monitoring the performance of instrument channels in Topical Report (TR) 104965, 'On-Line Monitoring of Instrument Channel Performance.' This paper presents the results of several models originally developed by EPRI to monitor three nuclear plant sensor sets: Pressurizer Level, Reactor Protection System (RPS) Loop A, and Reactor Coolant System (RCS) Loop A Steam Generator (SG) Level. The sensor sets investigated include one redundant sensor model and two non-redundant sensor models. Each model employs an Auto-Associative Kernel Regression (AAKR) model architecture to predict correct sensor behavior. Performance of each of the developed models is evaluated using four metrics: accuracy, auto-sensitivity, cross-sensitivity, and newly developed Error Uncertainty Limit Monitoring (EULM) detectability. The uncertainty estimate for each model is also calculated through two methods: analytic formulas and Monte Carlo estimation. The uncertainty estimates are verified by calculating confidence interval coverages to assure that 95% of the measured data fall within the confidence intervals. The model performance evaluation identified the Pressurizer Level model as acceptable for on-line monitoring (OLM) implementation. The other two models, RPS Loop A and RCS Loop A SG Level, highlight two common problems that occur in model development and evaluation, namely faulty data and poor signal selection

Development and Application of New Evaluation System for Ride Comfort and Vibration on Railway Vehicles

  • Vibrations related to ride comfort should be considered at the beginning of design stage. In general, ride comfort of human is mainly affected by vibration transmitted from the floor and seat. Also, vibration level is very important regarding with running safety on freight wagon. To ensure ride comfort for passenger coach and vibration level for freight wagon, tests had been repeated by different test procedures with several equipments. With different measuring and evaluations for these results, it took much time to evaluate test results. In this paper, a new evaluation procedure was developed combining several software for ride comfort and vibration level test on railway vehicles. In addition, this developed system is capable of ride comfort test and vibration test by a single integrated system that is capable of immediate reporting the test result. With this developed system, the comfort in a passenger coach and the vibration in a freight car were evaluated. And the simulation results from the proposed system are verified by a field test.

  • 본 연구는 다양한 기술의 융합과 체계통합기술이 고도로 복잡하게 요구되는 국방기술을 이해하고, 분야별 특성이 반영된 가치평가방법을 제안하고자 한다. 가치평가 대상 무기체계의 기술 수준의 척도, 기술 간의 통합(체계통합기술)척도, 제조준비 및 성숙도 척도를 측정요소별 항목에 맞추어 측정하여 시스템성숙도를 확인하고, 시스템의 성숙도를 활용한 핵심기술의 계량적인 가치예측모형의 틀을 제시하고자 한다. 국방기술의 가치를 기술분야별 특성을 고려하여 이에 맞는 가치평가방법을 제안하는 연구이다. 각 분야의 역량있는 기술전문가들에 의해 분야별 기술적인 특성이 반영된 평가 기준에 따라 평가되고, 전체 시스템의 완성도를 정량적인 수치로 표현할 수 있는 시스템성숙도(SRL)를 활용하여 국방기술가치를 평가하는 방안을 제안한다.

  • Many companies still struggle with the issue of research and development(R&D) performance measurement, in particular, the nonfinancial performance measurement of R&D with coming of knowledge-based society, Of course, we would not deny the fact that financial measures play the central role in assessing the overall performance of R&D, The aim of this paper is to provide the new model to evaluate the quantitative value of technology (nonfinancial benefits). This new model is based on the technology stock(technology level) acquired in R&D process, That is, we take it for granted that the acquired technology below a certain level(<70% compare to the advanced country) can not be utilized in developing the new products or in proving the manufacturing processes, The evaluation model we create can explains the quantitative relation between the technology stock and the market value considering R&D expenditure to acquire the technology above certain level(>70%) and cost to prevent the technology obsolescence. The value of non-destructive testing technology, which is one of the electric Power technology, is measured quantitatively using our new model as a case study, We also discussed briefly the possibility of capitalization of the measured technology value.

Insulation Design and Reliability Evaluation of ±80kV HVDC XLPE Cables

  • This paper describes insulation design and its reliability evaluation of ${\pm}80kV$ HVDC XLPE cable. Recently, the construction of HVDC transmission system, which is combined overhead line with underground cable, has been completed. This system is installed with existing 154 kV AC transmission line on the same tower. In this paper, the lightning transient analysis is firstly reviewed for selection of basic impulse insulation level and nominal insulation thickness. Then the electrical performance tests including load cycle test and superimposed impulse test based on CIGRE TB 496 are performed to evaluate the reliability of newly designed HVDC cable. There is no breakdown for ${\pm}80kV$ HVDC XLPE cable during electrical performance test. Finally, this system is installed in Jeju island based on successful electrical performance test (Type test). After installation tests are also successfully completed.

단안카메라를 활용한 ACC 시험평가 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation Method of ACC Test Using Monocular Camera)

  • Currently, the second level of the six stages of self-driving technology, as defined by SAE, is commercialized, and the third level is preparing for commercialization. The purpose of ACC is to be evaluated as a system useful for preventing and preventing accidents by minimizing driver fatigue through longitudinal speed control and relative distance control of the vehicle. In this regard, for the study of safety assessment methods in the practical environment of ACC. Distance measurement method using monocular camera and data acquisition equipment such as DGPS are utilized. Based on the evaluation scenario considering the domestic road environment proposed by the preceding study, the relative distance obtained from equipment such as DPGS and the relative distance using a monocular camera in the actual test is verified by comparing and analyzing the safety assessment. The comparison by scenario results showed a minimum error rate of 3.83% in Scenario 1 and a maximum of 14.61% in Scenario 6. The cause of the maximum error is that the lane recognition is not accurate in the camera image and irregular operation conditions such as rushing in or exiting the surrounding area from the walkway. It is expected that safety evaluation using a monocular camera will be possible for other ADAS systems in the future.

역해석법에 의한 피복재의 부분안전계수 산정 (Evaluation of Partial Safety Factors of Armor Units by Inverse-Reliability Analysis)

  • A reliability model of Level II AFDA is developed to analyze the stability of armor units on the sloped coastal structures. Additionally, the partial safety factors of random variables related to armor units can be straightforwardly evaluated by applying the inverse-reliability method in which influence coefficients and uncertainties of random variables, and target probability of failure are combined directly. In particular, a design equation for armor units is derived in terms of the same criteria as deterministic design method in order to apply the reliability-based design method of Level I without some understanding to the reliability analysis. Finally, it is confirmed that several results redesigned by the reliability-based design method of Level I have satisfactorily agreement with results of CEM as well as those of Level II AFDA.

공공기관 정보보호서비스 대가 모델의 개선 방안 (The Improvement of Information Protection Service Cost Model in Public Institution)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 관련 연구를 SW 중심의 대가 산정, 비용-편익분석, 보안성 지속서비스 대가 산정으로 구분하여 조사하였고, 사례 분석은 미국과 일본, 국내 A기관을 대상으로 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 현 제도와의 비교를 통해 개선모델을 마련하였다. 비용-효용분석 측면에서 효용성이 높은 서비스 수준 협약(SLA ; Service Level Agreement)과 NIST Cybersecurity Framework를 적용하여 정보보호서비스별 특성과 수행기준, 가중치를 기준으로 대가를 산정하는 방식인 SCS(Security Continuity Service) 성과평가체계 기반 정보보호서비스 대가 산정 모델을 제안한다. 이 모델은 공공기관에서 정보보호서비스 대가를 객관적으로 산정하는 도구로 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 현재 권고수준인 법률을 적용 강제성 수준으로 강화, 국가기관 및 공공기관의 평가제도 개선, 국가인증기관의 정보보호서비스 검증제도 도입, 모든 정보시스템 및 서비스로의 확대 등을 통해 본 제도의 정착될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

국방물자정보시스템 성능개선 사업평가에 대한 사례 (A Case on the Evaluation of the Information System Project to Enhance the Performance of DIMS(Defense Material Information System))

  • There are many evaluation models to measure the informatization level of an organization and information system project in the ministry of National Defense of Korea. A information system has to keep up with the environment change as well as the advanced recent information technology (IT). Therefore, the evaluation of an information system project to enhance the performance of the information system should be different from the existing evaluation methods. This study suggests an evaluation case of information system projects to enhance the performance of an information system. In order to achieve the objective of this study, the following steps are taken. First, it reviews the background and the scope of the project to enhance the performance of the Defense Material Information System (DMIS). And it sets up the evaluation logic and develops performance indexes. Then it applies these newly developed performance indexes to the information system project and measures the performance. From this study, we found that both the diffusion and the experience accumulation by its continuous use are significant factors in such evaluations.

멀티코어 시스템에서 쓰레드 수에 따른 병렬 색변환 성능 검증 (A Performance Evaluation of Parallel Color Conversion based on the Thread Number on Multi-core Systems)

  • 멀티 코어 프로세서의 보급 확산으로 최근에는 임베디드 시스템에서도 채택되고 있다. 따라서 일반적으로 대규모의 컴퓨팅과 메모리 접근을 필요로 하는 멀티미디어 응용은 멀티 코어 플랫폼 기반의 병렬화가 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 멀티 코어 CPU을 이용한 효율적 색 공간 변환을 위한 스레드 수준 병렬 기법의 성능 향상을 검증하였다. 스레드 수준 병렬화 특히 멀티 코어 프로세서기반 공유 메모리 컴퓨팅 시스템에서는 매우 유용한 병렬 처리 패러다임이 되고 있다. 본 구현에서 스레드 수준 병렬화는 각 스레드에 다른 입력 픽셀을 할당하여 실행하였다. 성능 평가를 위해 직렬 및 병렬 구현들 사이의 처리 속도의 비교에 기초하여 대표적 멀티 코어 프로세서에서 색 변환을 위한 성능 향상 정도를 평가하였다. 결과는 스레드 수준의 병렬 구현에 관계없이 다른 멀티 코어에서 전반적으로 비슷한 성능 향상의 비율을 보여주었다.
