  • The primary role of traction power systems is to provide reliable and continuous electrical energy to satisfy traction loads. AC traction substation transforms power from generation company and supply the power to the electric railway power line. Forced outage rate(FOR) of the equipment of substation should be used in the evaluation. This paper proposes the fast and easy way to evaluate by using Bayes' theory when a new equipment is added to the existing substation facility.

  • It has developed a PCM signal acquisition(PCMA) system which can analyze status of signals in order to establish rapid diagnosing in TDX-families signaling service equipment. We develop the quick Fourier transform(QFT) for length 2$\^$M/ data to analyze the power spectral of the PCMA system. This algorithm can reduces the number of floating-point operations necessary to compute the DFT by a factor of two or four over direct methods or Goertzels method for prime lengths. In the experimental results, the system classifies the type of signals and finally discriminates the digit.

  • The shock absorbing equipment for railway rolling is one of the most important components. It's effects on the safety of both passengers and vehicle itself and reduce shock, vibration and noise. The shock absorber equipment is mainly consisted of the yoke, plate and rubber draft gear. The objective of the this paper is to evaluation of structure and strength for the yoke in railway vehicles. Structure and strength analysis has been performed by use of finite element method and experimental stress analysis.

  • This study was performed to design and develop an ergonomic equipment for strawberry sorting and packing in agricultural working environments. Potential risk of work related musculo-skeletal disorders associated with farm workers performing strawberry sorting and packing was analyzed through interviews, field surveys, work measurement, and working posture evaluation. For the evaluation of working posture, we used REBA, OWAS, and RULA assessment methods to identify multi-factorial risk factors. Based on the result of comprehensive assessment, a new concept of multi-level rotating table for strawberry sorting and packing was proposed to modify awkward working postures and improve the effectiveness of the farm work. Finally, the characteristics and effectiveness of new equipment was discussed in terms of improvements in productivity, safety, and subjective ratings of farm workers. The results of analysis showed that working conditions improved significantly.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a basic data of playground design that can arouse various curiosities and interests of children. The 13play areas 'A' kindergartem's playground that parent, music, play equipment, soccer field, water, sand, tunnel, maze, animal, plant, ground hill, bike road, and inner court were evaluated by 16 teachers and 165 children between the age of 4 and 5. POE data of teachers were collected by questionnaire. And children chose and rated very fun and interesting 5 play areas of 13 ones based on the photos. The results were as following. 1) 13 play areas were generally used evenly with diverse purpose. 2) the environment of the play areas was deemed very appropriate. 3) maze area and play equipment area were recognized as the most favored play areas by children. 4) teachers recommended soccer field, plants, maze, tunnel, music area as the most favorable play areas.

  • Recently, industrial accidents have been getting great damage to an enterprise management directly and indirectly, the industrial injuries of conventional type are decreasing : on the other hand, musculoskeletal injuries are trending to a rapid increase. This shows that most of carrying works have been performing in almost all production process and convey objects, machine equipment and work method. Then, they are made by unfitted design which doesn't consider physical condition of workers, so it causes them to bring about forceful motion. In this paper, it was used NIOSH standard the data of spot. The ergonomic design of machine equipment and the evaluation of biomechanical compression force at theL_5/S_1$and back power, intend to provide the basis which can be applied, compared, and analyzed between before process improvement and after.

  • The most important thing to secure safety and reliability of railway vehicles is to verify performance characteristics of equipments, and related companies or research institutes had many efforts to verify performances and functions of equipments synthetically and efficiently. KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been developed by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as transformers and converter are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of KHST. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A new method to measure temperature was applied to the ]measurement system. By using the system, fault diagnosis and performance evaluation of electric equipment in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.
