  • This paper presents deterministic and adaptive control laws for two-link flexible arm. The flexible arm has considerable structural flexibility. Because of its flexbility, dynamic equations are very complex and difficult to get, dynamic equations for two-link flexible arm are derived from Bernoulli-Euler beam theory and Lagrangian equation. Using the fact that matrix is skew symmetric, controllers which have a simplified structure with less computational burden are proposed by using Lyapunov stability theory.

  • In this paper, robust vibration control of a one-link flexible robot arm based on variable structure system is discussed. We derive dynamic equations of it using a Lagrangian assumed modes method based on Bernoulli-Euler Beam theory. The optimal sliding surface is designed and the problem of chattering is also solved by the adoption of a continuous control law within a small neighborhood of the switching hyperplane.

  • The Forced vibration characteristics of elastically restrained pipe conveying fluid with the attached mass are investigated in this paper. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the equation of motion is derived by using Hamilton's principle. The effect of attached mass and spring constant on forced vibration of pipe system is studied. Also, the critical flow velocities and stability maps of the valve-pipe system are obtained as each parameters.

  • The free vibration of partially embedded piles is investigated. The pile model is based on the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory and the soil is idealized as a Winkler model for mathematical simplicity. The governing differential equation for the free vibrations of such members is solved numerically The piles with one typical end constraint (clamped/hinged/free) and the other hinged end with rotational spring are applied in numerical examples. The lowest three natural frequencies are calculated over a range of non-dimensional system parameters: the rotational spring parameter, the relative stiffness and the embedded ratio.

  • At this paper Dynamic respones of bridges for the Korean high-speed railway are analyzed by a modal analysis. To control vibration of bridges, Tuned Mass Damper(TMD) that is passive type control device is used. Opimize and prove it. Newmark method is used for a numerical analysis. In case of vehicle is modeled for moving mass that considers the effects of the moving. Also this paper is assumped as the simple supported Bernoulli-Euler beam and considered two dimensional Interaction motion between vehicle and bridge.

  • The non-linear differential equations of motion of a fluid conveying curved pipe are derived by making use of Hamiltonian approach. The extensible dynamics of the pipe is based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Some significant differences between linear and nonlinear equations and the basic analysis results are discussed. Using eigenfrequency analysis, it can be shown that the natural frequencies are changed with flow velocity.

  • The dynamic interaction of vehicle-bridge is studied by using transfer matrix method in this paper. The vehicle model is simplified as a spring-damping-mass system. By adopting the idea of Newmark-${\beta}$ method, the partial differential equation of structure vibration is transformed into a differential equation irrelevant to time. Then, this differential equation is solved by transfer matrix method. The prospective application of this method in real engineering is finally demonstrated by several examples.

  • This paper introduced a simple numerical analysis algorithm for the calculation of the dynamic responses of the beam structure with a moving mass. The dynamic equation of motion of the Bernoulli-Euler beam is derived by considering the moving mass as a moving particle, and the dynamic equation of motion is transformed into an integro-differential equation by use of the structural influence function. The numerical solutions of the integro-differential equation are obtained by the modal analysis approach, and compared with those cited from well-known references. The proves that the numerical analysis algorithm proposed herein provide very reliable results, and thus it can be utilized in the design analysis of the beamlike structures exited by a mass which is traveling on it.

  • A linearised buckling analysis of thin-walled beams is addressed in this paper. Beam theories formulated according to a unified approach are presented. The displacement unknown variables on the cross-section of the beam are approximated via Mac Laurin's polynomials. The governing differential equations and the boundary conditions are derived in terms of a fundamental nucleo that does not depend upon the expansion order. Classical beam theories such as Euler-Bernoulli's and Timoshenko's can be retrieved as particular cases. Slender and deep beams are investigated. Flexural, torsional and mixed buckling modes are considered. Results are assessed toward three-dimensional finite element solutions. The numerical investigations show that classical and lower-order theories are accurate for flexural buckling modes of slender beams only. When deep beams or torsional buckling modes are considered, higher-order theories are required.
