A standard for national seismological observatory was proposed on 1999. Since then, Quanterra digitizer has been installed and is operating on almost all of seismic stations which belong to major seismic monitoring organizations. Quanterra digitizer produce and transmit real-time event packet and data packet. Characteristics of event packet and arrival time of each channel's data packet on data center were investigated. Packet selection criteria using signal to noise ratio (hereafter SNR) and signal period from real-time event packet based on 100 samples per second (hereafter sps) velocity data were developed. Estimation of epicenter using time information of the selected event packet were performed and tested. A series of experiment show that event packets were received approximately 3~4 second earlier than data packets and the number of event packet was only 0.3% compare to data packets. Just about 5% against all of event packets were selected as event packet were related P wave of real earthquake. Using the selected event packets we can estimate an epicenter with misfit less than 10 km within 20 sec for local earthquake over magnitude 2.5.

The Area of a domestic railway station is designed based on the 4-step traffic demand forecasting model with the average daily passenger count as one of its parameter. However, nowadays, due to increasing rate of railway station's function, the non-passengers are increasing. In order to consider those non-passengers who aren't using trains, assumed volume are added to the average daily passenger count of station to estimate the area, but the criteria being applied has no concrete basis. Therefore, this study aimed to recalculate the increasing non-passenger rate based on actual survey data of station users in any type of railway station to obtain the optimum area. Subsequently, the the design area was performed through pedestrian simulation. According to the result of the simulation, it was found that the total space of the exciting railway stations can be reduced up to 45% and will still satisfy the level of service(LOS) requirement.
Forest statistics of local administrative districts have many social needs, nevertheless we have some difficulties for working out an accurate statistics because of insufficient data in small-area level. Thus, new small-area estimation method has to set aside additional data, decrease errors of statistics and consider the local forest characteristics at the same time. In this study, we researched the spatial divisions that can set aside additional data for statistics production and satisfy the major premise, which is "forest characteristics of spatial divisions have to be equal to that of small-area". And we compared synthetic estimation methods based on three different spatial divisions(provinces, neighbor districts and new expanded districts). New expanded districts were divided based on the criteria of climate, soil type and tree species composition that affects local forest characteristics. Small-area statistics were assessed in terms of the ability to estimate local forest characteristics and consistency within large-area statistics. As a result, new expanded districts synthetic estimation was assessed to calculate statistics that reflects local forest characteristics better than other two estimation methods. Moreover, this synthetic estimation method produced the statistics that was included within 95% confidence interval of large-area statistics and was the closer to large-area statistics than the neighbor districts synthetic estimation.

When CT image quality control assessment on the basis of the results such as the above, if using an image processing program to minimize the subjective judgment of the error evaluator and is determined more efficient than would be made quantitative evaluation.

The purpose of this study is to develope an assessment method for parking lot remodeling alternative by adopting the asset management technique. In order to identify the Level of Service(LOS) and the Evaluation Measurement(EM), literatures was implemented which documented the consideration of parking lot plan, needs of the apartments' tenant, and various design standards. In addition, the authors conducted a three-time delphi survey for the identified 5 LOS and 19 EM to evaluate suitability and necessity of them and to collect additional opinion of experts. The LOS of parking lot were categorized into 5 areas such as Environmental effect and Convenience, Accessibility and so on. The 19 EM were determined to estimate the LOS quantitatively. The researchers analyzed the degree of importance of LOS and EM by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. But construction cost was excepted from the analysis, because it is used as an independent variable in alternative assessment. In conclusion, the authors proposed the estimation criteria for EM, and the method and process for alternative assessment be performed to benefit-cost analysis using the LOS variation and construction cost. The assessment method for parking lot remodeling alternative was demonstrated effective to assess the parking lot remodeling alternative by case-study. This study has a academic significance by adopting the asset management techniques in the area of the parking lot remodeling. And the assessment method is expected to help deciding a reasonable remodeling alternative of parking lot, as it ensures the diversity for remodeling of the parking lot and reflects the needs of the occupant.
Up to date, the economic feasibility analysis on land consolidation and on-farm development projects were mainly depended upon the direct benefits from market value of project outputs. Therefore the projects were neglected in allocation of the government's financial funds and loans on account of undervaluation of the project benefits including socio-economic and environmental values of the projects. Accordingly the Extended Benefit Cost Analysis Method should be adapted to cover not only the benefits such as non-market values of environmental functions of the projects and but also the economic market values of the project outputs. The main objectives of this study is (1) to provision of the guideline for economic feasibility analysis based on the IBRD and ADB guidelines, (2) to estimate the benefits such as Productivity increase effect, labor saving effect, off-farm income increase effect during off-farm season, saving of O&M cost of farm mechanization, enhance of farmer's public health, increase of environmental public function of paddy fields, effect of food security and establishment of peaceful and uncontroversial rural society by implementing the land consolidation and on-farm development, (3) to introduce the newly adapted analytical method as the extended benefit cost analysis which could make possible the analysis of non-market goods such as the food security value and the environmental public value of paddy fields. To carry out the study, the publication on the guideline for economic analysis of agricultural projects were reviewed and consulted and for the post evaluation of the land consolidation and on-farm development project, field survey in Jeongja area were made for the feasibility study of the project by new method. According to the initial project plan, Jeongja land consolidation and on-farm development project has 96ha of benefit area and the project was started in 1989 and completed in the spring, 1990. The total project costs were amounted to 1,052 million won and the annual project benefits were estimated at 135.4 million in 1989 constant market prices. On the other hand, the newly estimated project benefits as a part of post evaluation of the project were amounted to 602.1 million won including all the benefits from the market and non-market commodities of the project as mentioned above column. The original IRP(Internal rate of return) of the project was estimated at 15.81%. On the other hand, the IRR of the post evaluation of the project was amounted to 16.83%. In case of including the benefit from the environment public function of paddy field, the SRR(Social Rate of Return) was reached to 38.81% and when we added the benefit from food security of the project, the SRR showed very high rate as 46.41%. In conclusion, the project were verified socio-economically feasible and environmentally sustainable considering the above decision making criteria.

The seismic performance of a structure designed without consideration of seismic loading can be effectively enhanced through seismic rehabilitation. The appropriate level of rehabilitation should be determined based on the decision criteria that minimize the anticipated earthquake-related losses. To estimate the anticipated losses, seismic risk analysis should be performed considering the probabilistic characteristics of the hazard and the structural damage. This study presents the decision procedure in which the probabilistic seismic demand model is utilized for the effective estimation and minimization of the total seismic losses through seismic rehabilitation. The probability density function and the cumulative distribution function of the structural damage for a specified time period are established in a closed form, and are combined with the loss functions to derive the expected seismic loss. The procedure presented in this study could be effectively used for making decisions on the seismic rehabilitation of structural systems.

Collaborative filtering which is used explicit method in a existing recommedation system, can not only reflect exact attributes of item but also still has the problem of sparsity and scalability, though it has been practically used to improve these defects. This paper proposes the personalized recommendation system using RFM method and k-means clustering in u-commerce which is required by real time accessablity and agility. In this paper, using a implicit method which is is not used complicated query processing of the request and the response for rating, it is necessary for us to keep the analysis of RFM method and k-means clustering to be able to reflect attributes of the item in order to find the items with high purchasablity. The proposed makes the task of clustering to apply the variable of featured vector for the customer's information and calculating of the preference by each item category based on purchase history data, is able to recommend the items with efficiency. To estimate the performance, the proposed system is compared with existing system. As a result, it can be improved and evaluated according to the criteria of logicality through the experiment with dataset, collected in a cosmetic internet shopping mall.
A new strut-tie model using secant stiffness, Direct Inelastic Strut-Tie Model, was developed. Since basically the proposed design method uses linear analysis, it is convenient and stable in numerical analysis. At the same time, the proposed design method can accurately estimate the inelastic strength and ductility demands of struts and ties because it can analyzes the inelastic behavior of structure using iterative calculations for secant stiffness. In the present study, the procedure of the proposed design method was established, and a computer program incorporating the proposed method was developed. Design examples using the proposed method were presented, and its advantages were highlighted by the comparison with the traditional strut-tie model. The Direct Inelastic Strut-Tie Model, as an integrated analysis/design method, can directly address the design strategy intended by the engineer to prevent development of macro-cracks and brittle failure of struts. Since the proposed model can analyze the inelastic deformation, indeterminate strut-tie model can be used. Also, since the proposed model controls the local deformations of struts and ties, it can be used as a performance-based design method for various design criteria.
This study were to simulate major criteria air pollutants and estimate regional source-receptor relationship using air quality prediction model (TAPM ; The Air Pollution Model) in the Seoul Metropolitan area. Source-receptor relationship was estimated by contribution of each region to other regions and region itself through dividing the Seoul metropolitan area into five regions. According to administrative boundary, region I and region II were Seoul and Incheon in order. Gyeonggi was divided into three regions by directions like southern(region III), northern(IV) and eastern(V) area. Gridded emissions ($1km{\times}1km$) by Clean Air Pollicy Support System (CAPSS) of National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) was prepared for TAPM simulation. The operational weather prediction system, Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System (RDAPS) operated by the Korean Meteorology Administration (KMA) was used for the regional weather forecasting with 30km grid resolution. Modeling period was 5 continuous days for each season with non-precipitation. The results showed that region I was the most air-polluted area and it was 3~4 times more polluted region than other regions for $NO_2$, $SO_2$ and PM10. Contributions of $SO_2$$NO_2$ and PM10 to region I, II and III were more than 50 percent for their own sources. However region IV and V were mostly affected by sources of region I, II and III. When emissions of all regions were assumed to reduce 10 and 20 percent separately, air pollution of each region was reduced linearly and the contributions of reduction scenario were similar to those of base case. As input emissions were reduced according to different ratio - region I 40 percent, region II and III 20 percent, region IV and V 10 percent, air pollutions of region I and III were decreased remarkably. The contributions to region I, II, III were also reduced for their own sources. However, region I, II and III affected more regions IV and V. Shortly, graded reduction of emission could be more effective to control air pollution in emission imbalanced area.
