In this paper, we propose a new scheme of motion tracking based on fuzzy inference (FI)and wavelet transform (WT) from image sequences. First, we present a WT to segment a feature extraction of dynamic image . The coefficient matrix for 2-level DWT tent to be clustered around the location of important features in the images, such as edge discontinuities, peaks, and corners. But these features are time varying owing to the environment conditions. Second, to reduce the spatio-temporal error, We develop a fuzzy inference algorithm. Some experiments are peformed to testify the validity and applicability of the proposed system. As a result, proposed method is relatively simple compared with the traditional space domain method. It is also well suited for motion tracking under the conditions of variation of illumination.

This study is to determine if teaching of measuring the area of plane figures in elementary school is successful. While they teach to measure the area of figures in elementary school, students don't measure the segment of the figure directly until now. The figures are presented with auxiliary line and numerical information. When students measure the area of such figure, they do only substitute the number and calculate it. This study found that such teaching is not successful and propose the new teaching method of measuring the plane figures.
This paper presents a methodology for the electric field analysis of substation. For the electric field analysis of substation, the electrodes(substation busbars) must be represented by finite line with nonlinear charge density. In the case of dividing finite line into uniform segments, a large number of variables have to be used to obtain the accuracy within a desired tolerance. To deal with the problem, nonuniform charge arrangement modeling method is suggested. To reduce potential calculation errors, the linear charge density function is considered particularly for the segment charge model ling. If the charge arrangement is improper, the accuracy not improved regardless of increment in the number of segments. This paper proposes an optimal charge arrangement method through potential error analysis. And, the optimal charge arrangement function is formulated by a lot of simulation results.
The simplest method which has been used extensively for vibration analysis is the transfer matrix method introduced by Myklestad and was later extended by many researchers. The crude approximation results in considerable error on the predicted natural frequencies and to increase the accuracy the number of elements used in the analysis must be increased. In addition, numerical instability can occur as a result of matrix multiplication. Also the main disadvantage of the finite element method is the large computer memory requirements for complex systems. The new method proposed in this paper combines the transfer matrix and finite dynamic element techniques to form a powerful algorithm for vibration analysis of rotor system. It is shown that the accuracy improves significantly when the transfer matrix for each segment is obtained from finite dynamic element techniques.
The basic goal of quantization for probability distribution is to reduce the number of values, which is typically uncountable, describing a probability distribution to some finite set and thus to make an approximation of a continuous probability distribution by a discrete distribution. It has broad application in signal processing and data compression. In this paper, first we define the uniform distributions on different curves such as a line segment, a circle, and the boundary of an equilateral triangle. Then, we give the exact formulas to determine the optimal sets of n-means and the nth quantization errors for different values of n with respect to the uniform distributions defined on the curves. In each case, we further calculate the quantization dimension and show that it is equal to the dimension of the object; and the quantization coefficient exists as a finite positive number. This supports the well-known result of Bucklew and Wise [2], which says that for a Borel probability measure P with non-vanishing absolutely continuous part the quantization coefficient exists as a finite positive number.

This work is concerned with the algorithm of generating a new circular are interpolation. This research presents a new biarc curve fitting that is a circular interpolation method based on a triarc curve fitting. The triarc method, where a segment span is composed of three circular arcs, using maximum error estimation has the advantage of generating arc splines easily to a given tolerance. The new biarc method is called when the adjacent radii are the same in the same in the triarc method. In generating the machining data for various cam curves in CNC machining with the biarc method and the new biarc method, the latter accomp- lished faster NC-code generation, shorter NC-code block formation and machined the same cam profile more efficiently.
This paper proposes an image-based modeling method which recovers 3D models using projected line segments in multiple images. Using the method, a user obtains accurate 3D model data via several steps of simple manual works. The embedded nonlinear minimization technique in the model parameter estimation stage is based on the distances between the user provided image line segments and the projected line segments of primitives. We define an error using a finite line segment and thus increase accuracy in the model parameter estimation. The error is defined as the sum of differences between the observed image line segments provided by the user and the predicted image line segments which are computed using the current model parameters and camera parameters. The method is robust in a sense that it recovers 3D structures even from partially occluded objects and it does not be seriously affected by small measurement errors in the reconstruction process. This paper also describesexperimental results from real images and difficulties and tricks that are found while implementing the image-based modeler.

The method of moments (MoM) is implemented to simulate scattering from a PEC (perfectly electric conductor) cylinder in the TE(transversw electric) EFIE (Electric Field Integral Equation) approach. The procedure expresses the singularity integral and the hypersingularity integral in terms of an analytic function and employs a singularity isolation process coupled with numerical technique along the discretized segment to evaluate the self terms. It is known that, in the MoM technique, the choice of base functions and test functions is very important for the accuracy and convergence of the numerical analysis. Thus, in this paper, three conditions, obtained from the combination of basis functions and test functions, are adopted to get the induced currents on the PEC surface. These currents are compared to the analytical one in the relative rms current error to get the condition that shows fast convergence rate. The fast order of convergence of the current error, 2.528, is obtained under the combination of pulse basis function/delta test function.

In this paper, a feature based panorama image generation algorithm using FAST(Features from Accelerated Segment Test) method that is faster than SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) and SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) is proposed. Cylindrical projection is performed to generate natural panorama images with numerous images as input. The occurred error can be minimized by applying RANSAC(Random Sample Consensus) for the matching process. When we synthesize numerous images acquired from different camera angles, we use blending techniques to compensate the distortions by the heterogeneity of border line. In that way, we could get more natural synthesized panorama image. The proposed algorithm can generate natural panorama images regardless the order of input images and tilted images. In addition, the image matching can be faster than the conventional method. As a result of the experiments, distortion was corrected and natural panorama image was generated.

Current distribution measurement technique based on a segmented bipolar plate (BP) has been widely adopted to visualize the distribution of current density in a polymer electrolyte membrane. However, a concern is raised how closely the current density of a segmented BP can approach that of a corresponding non-segmented membrane. Therefore, in this paper, the accuracy of the measurement technique is numerically evaluated by applying a three-dimensional, two-phase fuel cell model to a $100\;cm^2$ area fuel cell geometry in which segmented BPs and non-segmented membrane are combined together. The simulation results reveal that the errors between the current densities of the segmented BPs and non-segmented membrane indeed exist, predicting the maximum relative error of 33% near the U-turn regions of the flow-field. The numerical study further illustrates that the erroneous result originates from the BPs segmented non-symmetrically based on the flow channels that allows some currents bypassing flow channels to flow into its neighboring segment. Finally, this paper suggests the optimal way for bipolar plate segmentation that can minimize the deviation of current measured in a segmented BP from that of a corresponding membrane region.
