  • We consider three classes of numerical methods for solv-ing the semi-explicit differential-algebraic equations of index 1 and higher. These methods use implicit multistep fixed stepsize methods and several iterative processes including simple iteration, full a2nd modified Newton iteration. For these methods we prove convergence theorems and derive error estimates. We consider different ways of choosing initial approximations for these iterative methods and in-vestigate their efficiency in theory and practice.

  • Determinations of conformal map from the unit disk onto a Jordan region are reduced to solve the Theodorsen equation which is an integral equation for the boundary correspondence function. Among numerical conformal maps the Wegmann's method is well known as a Newton efficient one for solving Theodorsen equation. However this method has not so wide class of convergence. We proposed as an improved method for convergence by applying a low frequency filter to the Wegmann's method. In this paper, we investigate error analysis and propose an automatic algorithm based on this analysis.

  • In a digital communication system, the transmission channel may introduce error into the digital signal being transmitted. It would be useful if a process could be devised so that the error could be removed in order to recover the transmitted digital signal. We design a corrective filter that is inverse filter, which will generate an output signal identical to the input signal. in order for two systems connected in cascade to produce an output which is identical to the input signal, the over-all unit sample response of the cascade connection must be a unit sample function.

  • 시변 특성을 갖는 무선 채널 환경에서 UEP(Unequal Error Protection) 채널 부호화 방법은 효율적인 정보 전송을 가능케 한다. 본 논문에서는 IP-SCCC (Interleaved Puncturing Serially Concatenated Convolutional Codes)로 CSI(Channel State Information)와 SSI(Source Significance Information)를 이용한 두가지 UEP 채널 부호화 방법을 제안한다. 또한 AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise)과 Rayleigh 페이딩이 존재하는 채널을 가정하고 모의 실험을 통해 알고리즘의 우수성을 검증한다.

  • We present a local convergence analysis for inexact Newton-like method in a Banach space under weaker Lipschitz condition. The convergence ball is enlarged and the estimates on the error distances are more precise under the same computational cost as in earlier studies such as [6, 7, 11, 18]. Some special cases are considered and applications for solving nonlinear systems using the Newton-arithmetic mean method are improved with the new convergence technique.

  • We provide a local convergence analysis for Newton-like methods for the solution of generalized equations in a Banach space setting. Using some ideas of ours introduced in [2] for nonlinear equations we show that under weaker hypotheses and computational cost than in [7] a larger convergence radius and finer error bounds on the distances involved can be obtained.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive algorithm based on a method of dynamic error signal generation suitable for signal state by examining the equalizer output signal in blind equalization. In the proposed method, it estimates the error signals using single modulus and multiple modulus each effective to the early stage of equalization or steady-state, and it generates a new error signal from the two error estimates. Two equalizer structures are implemented and their performances are compared: 1-equalizer structure that generates a new error signal by combining the two error estimates weightedly and updates the equalizer using this, and 2-equalizer structure that updates two equalizers respectively depending on the weights of the two error signals. In the proposed method, as the error signals were generated optimally before and after the initial convergence respectively, it was confirmed by computer simulations that the equalizer was updated effectively.

  • Experimental demonstration of bipolar spectral encoding code-division multiple-access with modified pseudorandom noise codes is presented. Bipolar spectral encoding is achieved with an erbium-doped fiber amplifier amplified spontaneous emission source and arrayed waveguide gratings. The bit-error rate performance of 1.25 Gbps signal transmission over 80 km single mode fiber is measured in a multiple-user environment.
