Among modern computer vision and video surveillance systems, the pedestrian counting system is a one of important systems in terms of security, scheduling and advertising. In the field of, pedestrian counting remains a variety of challenges such as changes in illumination, partial occlusion, overlap and people detection. During pedestrian counting process, the biggest problem is occlusion effect in crowded environment. Occlusion and overlap must be resolved for accurate people counting. In this paper, we propose a novel pedestrian counting system which improves existing pedestrian tracking method. Unlike existing pedestrian tracking method, proposed method shows that average filter tracking method can improve tracking performance. Also proposed method improves tracking performance through frame compensation and outlier removal. At the same time, we keep various information of tracking objects. The proposed method improves counting accuracy and reduces error rate about S6 dataset and S7 dataset. Also our system provides real time detection at the rate of 80 fps.
This paper presents a complete S-shape feed rate scheduling approach (CSFA) with confined jerk, acceleration and command feed rate for parametric tool path. For a Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) tool path, the critical points of the tool path where the radius of curvature reaches extreme values are found firstly. Then, the NURBS curve is split into several NURBS sub-curves or blocks by the critical points. A bidirectional scanning strategy with the limitations of chord error, normal/tangential acceleration/jerk and command feed rate is employed to make the feed rate at the junctions between different NURBS blocks continuous. To improve the efficiency of the feed rate scheduling, the NURBS block is classified into three types: short block, medium block and long block. The feed rate profile corresponding to each NURBS block is generated according to the start/end feed rates and the arc length of the block and the limitations of tangential acceleration/jerk. In addition, two compensation strategies are proposed to make the feed rate more continuous and the arc increment more precise. Once the feed rate profile is determined, a second-order Taylor's expansion interpolation method is applied to generate the position commands. Finally, experiments with two free-form NURBS curves are conducted to verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.
Recently, a crowdsensing system that provides a new sensing service with real-time sensing data provided from a user's device including a sensor without installing a separate sensor has attracted attention. In the crowdsensing system, meaningless data may be provided due to a user's operation error or communication problem, or false data may be provided to obtain compensation. Therefore, the detection and removal of the abnormal data determines the quality of the crowdsensing service. The proposed methods in the past to detect these anomalies are not efficient for the fast-changing environment of crowdsensing. This paper proposes an anomaly data detection method by extracting the characteristics of continuously and rapidly changing sensing data environment by using machine learning technology and modeling it with an appropriate algorithm. We show the performance and feasibility of the proposed system using deep learning binary classification model of supervised learning and autoencoder model of unsupervised learning.

This paper deals with the performance comparison and evaluation of blind adaptive equalizer, the PMCMA-MDD and DW-MCMA, that is used for compensation of the amplitude and phase distortion which occurs in the time dispersive channel. Basically, these algorithms are modification of MCMA cost function in order to obtain the fast convergence speed and reduced residual isi by taking the parallel and serial double structured and the combination of the concept of RCA for the updating the tap coefficient. We implements the algorithm of it and compare the recovered constellation, residual isi, MSE characteristics curve and SER in the signal to noise ratio given the time dispersive channel. As a result of simulation, the PMCMA-MDD has a good in recovered constellation than DW-MCMA. But in the SER, the DW-MCMA has a good than PMCMA-MDD.

This paper compares the equalization algorithm of CR-MMA (Constellation Reduction-Multi Modulus Algorithm) and RMMA (Region based Multi Modulus Algorithm) for the compensation of channel's distortion in nonconstant modulus signal. In order to obtain the error signal for adaptive equalization, every signal points are reduced to the constant modulus signal in CR-MMA and every signal points are separated into the 4 regions, then the reductions are performed based on this region in RMMA. These two algorithm based on the reduction principle such as in order to updating the tap coefficient in the adaptive equalization, it has different equalization performance. The computer simulation was performed in order to compare the each equalization performance in this paper. As a result of computer simulation, RMMA has more good performance in the residual isi, maximum distortion and SER performance than CR-MMA, but not in convergence speed.

This paper describes an interframe image coding using motion compensated and classified vector quantizer (MC-CVQ). It is essential to carefully encode blocks with significant pels in motion compensated vector quantizers (MCVQ). In this respect, we propose a new CVQ algorithm which is appropriate to the coding of interframe prediction error after motion compensation. In order to encode an image efficiently at a low bit rate, we partition each block, which is the processing element in MC, into equally sized 4 vectors, and classify vectors into 15 classes according to the position of significant pels. Vectors in each class are then encoded by the vector quantizer with the codebook independently designed for the class. The computer simulation shows that the signal-to-noise ratio and the average bit rate of MC-CVQ are 35-37dB and 0.2-0.25bit/pel, respectively, for the videophone or video conference type image.

This paper presents a novel multiple orthogonal subcarrier modulation based UHF band RFID communication system. In tag-to-reader communication, the demonstration system can deliver 1.6 Mbps through four subcarriers. To improve data rate while suppressing increase in circuit complexity, tag employs square-waves as the subcarriers and uses individual load modulators for each subcarrier. By using multiple orthogonal subcarrier based modulation, proposed communication system can be operated under existing UHF band RFID regulation. In reader, an OFDM demodulator is used. Since the tag backscatters the reader's CW carrier, carrier frequency offset compensation is not necessary in reader demodulator. Experimental results show that the demonstration system achieves a bit error rate of 10-5 at an Eb/N0 of 10.8 dB.

In this paper, to compensate the degraded performance in high-resolution infrared sensor due to assembling error, the influence of each component was evaluated through the sensitivity analysis of lens assembly, axis mirror, and detector and also suggested detector tilt mechanism for compensation. 3 detector tilt mechanisms were investigated. The first one is 'Shim plate' method which is applying shim on installing plane. The second one is 'Tilting screw' method that is using tilt screw for adjusting detection plane. The last one is 'Micrometer head' method that is installing micrometer on detection plane and acquiring quantitative data. Based on the investigation result, 'Tilting screw' method was applied due to ease of user control, small volume, and real-time controllability, thereby we could acquire high-resolution infrared images. The research result shows that the tilting mechanism is necessary technology for the implementation of high-resolution infrared imaging system.

This paper presents the results of a novel test structure for process control monitor for uncooled IR detector technology of microbolometer arrays. The proposed test structure is based on resistive network configuration. The theoretical model for resistance of this network has been developed using 'Compensation' and 'Superposition' network theorems. The theoretical results of proposed resistive network have been verified by wired hardware testing as well as using an actual 16x16 networked bolometer array. The proposed structure uses simple two-level metal process and is easy to integrate with standard CMOS process line. The proposed structure can imitate the performance of actual fabricated version of area array closely and it uses only 32 pins instead of 512 using conventional method for a $16{\times}16$ array. Further, it has been demonstrated that the defective or faulty elements can be identified vividly using extraction matrix, whose values are quite similar(within the error of 0.1%), which verifies the algorithm in small variation case(${\sim}1%$ variation). For example, an element, intentionally damaged electrically, has been shown to have the difference magnitude much higher than rest of the elements(1.45 a.u. as compared to ${\sim}$ 0.25 a.u. of others), confirming that it is defective. Further, for the devices having non-uniformity ${\leq}$ 10%, both the actual non-uniformity and faults are predicted well. Finally, using our analysis, we have been able to grade(pass or fail) 60 actual devices based on quantitative estimation of non-uniformity ranging from < 5% to > 20%. Additionally, we have been able to identify the number of bad elements ranging from 0 to > 15 in above devices.
In FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System) and CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), machine-tools have been the target of integration in the last three decades. The conventional concept of integration is being changed into the autonomous manufacturing device based on the knowledge evolution by applying advanced information technology in which an open architecture controller, high-speed network and internet technology are included. In the advanced environment, the machine-tools is not the target of integration anymore, but has been the key subject of cooperation. In the near future, machine-tools will be more improved in the form of a knowledge-evolutionary intelligent device. The final goal of this study is to develop an intelligent machine having knowledge-evolution capability and a management system based on internet operability. The knowledge-evolutionary intelligent machine-tools is expected to gather knowledge autonomically, by producing knowledge, understanding knowledge, reasoning knowledge, making a new decision, dialoguing with other machines, etc. The concept of the knowledge-evolutionary intelligent machine is originated from the machine control being operated by human experts' sense, dialogue and decision. The structure of knowledge evolution in M2M (Machine to Machine) and the scheme for a dialogue agent among agent-based modules such as a sensory agent, a dialogue agent and an expert system (decision support agent) are presented in this paper, with intent to develop the knowledge-evolutionary machine-tools. The dialogue agent functions as an interface for inter-machine cooperation. To design the dialogue agent module in an M2M environment, FIPA (Foundation of Intelligent Physical Agent) standard platform and the ping agent based on FIPA are analyzed in this study. In addition, the dialogue agent is designed and applied to recommend cutting conditions and thermal error compensation in a tapping machine. The knowledge-evolutionary machine-tools are expected easily implemented on the basis of this study and shows a good assistance to sensory and decision support agents.
