  • Several tests are performed to evaluate road booming noise. Baseline test delivers the information of road noise characteristics. Coupling effect between structure and acoustics is obtained from the mode shapes and the natural frequencies by the modal test. Equivalent stiffness at joint areas between chassis and car-body system can be determined by the input point inertance test. Noise sensitivity of body mounting point of a chassis part can be obtained from the noise transfer function test with input point inertance test. Operational deflection shape makes us analyze the actual vibration modes of the chassis system under actual leading and find noise sources very easily. Finally, the transfer path analysis is used to Identify noise Paths through the chassis system. The objectives and the procedures of the tests are described in this Paper Also, the guideline for efficient road noise evaluation test can be found.

  • Thermal noise generated in the electrolyte is modeled for the electrolyte-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors. Two noise sources contribute to output noise currents. One is the thermal noise generated in the bulk electrolyte region, and the other is the thermal noise from the double-layer region at the electrolyte-oxide interface. By employing two slightly-different equivalent circuits for two noise current sources, the power spectral density of output noise current is calculated. From the modeling and simulated results, the bulk electrolyte thermal noise dominates the double-layer thermal noise. Electrolyte thermal noise are computed for three different concentrations of NaCl electrolyte. The derived formulas give a good agreement with the published experimental data.

  • The LQG/LTR method is applied to the real servomechanism with the unknown modeling error and system noise variance Q$_{2}$. The equivalent discretized LQG controller is implemented on the 16-bit microcomputer and the experimental results show the improved stability and the satisfactory performance when the noise variance Q$_{2}$ is increased infinitly.
