Roof Crush Analysis Technique Using Simple Model with Plastic Hinge Concepts (소성 힌지를 갖는 단순 보 모델을 이용한 루프 붕괴 해석 기술)

  • This paper presents a computational technique to predict roof crush resistance in early design stage of passenger car development. This technique use a simple F.E. model with nonlinear spring elements which represent plastic hinge behavior at weak areas. By assuming actual sections as equivalent simple sections, maximum bending moments which weak areas in major members can stand are theoretically calculated. Results from prediction of roof crush resistance are correlated well with test results.

  • Steel fibers are added to concrete to improve energy absorption, impact resistance and apparent ductility, and to provide crack resistance and crack control. This study is to investigate the toughness index and post-crack equivalent tensile strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete properties on the load-deflection behaviors of the steel fiber reinforced concrete beam model specimens.

  • An analysis on a passive current sharing characteristics of a multi-phase synchronous buck converter is presented. The passive current sharing method is simple but its characteristics depend on the converter equivalent resistance and PWM uniformity. In this paper, the load sharing and power consumption of the passive current sharing system for the converter equivalent resistance and duty ratio inequalities are investigated through the simulation and experiment.

A Study on the Physical Characteristics of the Low-voltage Circuit Breaker Based on the Accelerated Degradation Test (가속 열화 시험에 따른 저압용 차단기의 물리적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of insulation resistance and operating time based on an accelerated degradation test of a low-voltage circuit breaker. The experimental sample used a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) and an earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB). After measuring the insulation resistance of the circuit breakers, the leakage current was affected by an external rather than an internal structure. Furthermore, the insulation resistance of the circuit breakers with accelerated degradation was measured using a Megger insulation tester. In the accelerated degradation test, aging times of five, ten, 15, and 20 years were applied according to a temperature derived using the Arrhenius equation. Circuit breakers with an equivalent life of ten, 15, and 20 years had increased insulation resistance compared to those with less degradation time. In particular, the circuit breaker with an equivalent life of ten years had the highest insulation resistance. Component analysis of the circuit breaker manufactured through an accelerated degradation test confirmed that the timing of the increase in insulation resistance and the time of additive loss were the same. Finally, after analyzing the operating time of the circuit breakers with degradation, it was confirmed that the MCCB did not change, but the ELCB breaker failed.

  • The equivalent circuit of LIM is generally composed as the same that of rotary induction motor. However it is very difficult to move the LIM at synchronous velocity for open-secondary circuit test. The resistance representing the core losses in the primary core can not be ignored because the air-gap of LIM is larger than that of rotary induction motor. In this paper, the T-type equivalent circuit of a LIM with the core loss resistance is chosen using static zero slip test and theoritical analysis.

  • A circuit model simulating the electrical characteristics of EEFL(External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp) is proposed. The model is based on linear approximation that represents the equivalent resistance and capacitance as a function of power. Simulation waveforms and experimental results are presented to verify feasibility of the equivalent model.

  • We have suggested an equivalent circuit model for switching performance of bipolar spin transistor composed of a nonmagnetic metal film (N) sandwiched between two ferromagnetic metal films (F1 and F2). The 'ON' or 'OFF' operation of this equivalent circuit model is simulated by depending on the orientation of the magnetization of F1 and F2 rather than the strength of the external magnetic filed. Changing the coupling coefficient, turn number of two inductances, (L1:L2) like a transformer, and parallel variable resistance R4 connected to L2 at the collector region, we can explain the magnetic characteristics and the dependence of magneto resistance ratio on the orientation of spin-polarized electrons.

  • In this paper, the input equivalent resistances of the n phase-diode average and envelope detection. circuits for the sinusoidal signal waveforms are analytically derived from the power loss in their load resistances, and the input equivalent resistance of the n phase-diode envelope detection circuits for the arbitrary signal waveforms is also obtained from the same physical conception.

  • We have investigated equivalent-circuit analysis of organic light-emitting diodes using frequency-dependent response of $ITO/Alq_3(60nm)/Al$ device at two different bias voltages. Complex impedance Z of the device was measured in the frequency range of 40Hz~1MHz. A Cole-Cole plot shows that there are two dielectric relaxations at the bias below turn-on voltage, and one relaxation at the bias above turn-on voltage. We are able to interpret the frequency-dependent response in terms of equivalent-circuit model of contact resistance $R_s$ in series with parallel combination of resistance $R_p$ and capacitance $C_p$. We have obtained contact resistance $R_s$ around $90{\Omega}$, mainly from the ITO anode.
