Conclusion: Effective standard operation procedures (SOP) and safety standards should be established and applied for each stage of the dispatch and on-site response considering the fire characteristics and risk factors of each warehouse by scale.
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles is rapidly increasing in order to effectively utilize limited manpower and minimize casualties on the battlefield. The requirements for ground control equipment vary depending on the operating concept and environment of the unmanned aerial system, but there are still common requirements. However, the lack of standardized system configurations to meet these common requirements makes it difficult to reuse common functions, leading to continuous acquisition costs. To solve this problem, this paper develops a Korean version of the UCS model using the UCS architecture. Furthermore, after designing elements related to service development not specified in the architecture (such as framework, communication middleware, service structure, etc.), we develop a Boilerplate to enhance developers' work efficiency based on this. The results of this study will serve as a foundation for effectively and economically carrying out the development of ground control equipment for unmanned aerial systems.
In general, the design of structures and its construction processes are fundamentally dependent on their foundation and supporting ground. Thus, it is imperative to understand the behavior of the soil under certain stress and drainage conditions. As it is well known that certain characteristics and behaviors of soils with fines are highly dependent on water content, it is critical to accurately measure and identify the status of the soils in terms of water contents. Liquid limit is one of the important soil index properties to define such characteristics. However, liquid limit measurement can be affected by the proficiency of the operator. On the other hand, dynamic properties of soils are also necessary in many different applications and current testing methods often require special equipment in the laboratory, which is often expensive and sensitive to test conditions. In order to address these concerns and advance the state of the art, this study explores a novel method to determine the liquid limit of cohesive soil by employing video-based vibration analysis. In this research, the modal characteristics of cohesive soil columns are extracted from videos by utilizing phase-based motion estimation. By utilizing the proposed method that analyzes the optical flow in every pixel of the series of frames that effectively represents the motion of corresponding points of the soil specimen, the vibration characteristics of the entire soil specimen could be assessed in a non-contact and non-destructive manner. The experimental investigation results compared with the liquid limit determined by the standard method verify that the proposed method reliably and straightforwardly identifies the liquid limit of clay. It is envisioned that the proposed approach could be applied to measuring liquid limit of soil in practical field, entertaining its simple implementation that only requires a digital camera or even a smartphone without the need for special equipment that may be subject to the proficiency of the operator.

Recently, the number of high-rise buildings being built in Korea by major construction companies for residential and commercial use has been increasing. When constructing a high-rise building, it is necessary to apply massive amounts of concrete to form a mat foundation that can withstand the huge load of the upper structure. However, it is of increasing concern that due to limitations in terms of the amount of placing equipment, available job-sites and systems for mass concrete placement in the construction field, it is not always possible to place a great quantity of concrete simultaneously in a large-scale mat foundation, and for this reason consistency between placement lift cannot be secured. In addition, a mat foundation Is likely to crack due to the stress caused by differences inhydration heat generation time. To derive a solution for these problems, this study provides test results of a hydration heat crack reduction method by applying placement lift change and setting time control with a super retarding agent for mass concrete in a large-scale mat foundation. Mock-up specimens with different mixtures and placement liftswere prepared at the job-site of a newly-constructed high-rise building. The test results show that slump flow of concrete before and after adding the super retarding agent somewhat Increases as the target retarding time gets longer, while the air content shows no great difference. The setting time was observed to be retarded as the target retarding time gets longer. As the target retarding time gets longer, compressive strength appears to be decreased at an early stage, but as time goes by, compressive strength gets higher, and the compressive strength at 28 days becomes equal or higher to that of plain concrete without a super retarding agent. For the effect of placement lift change and super retarding agent on the reduction of hydration heat, the application of 2 and 4 placement lifts and a super retarding agent makes it possible to secure consistency and reduce temperature difference between placement lifts, while also extending the time to reach peak temperature. This implies that the possibility of thermal crack induced by hydration heat is reduced. The best results are shown in the case of applying 4 placement lifts.
In the recent downtown works, there are frequent cases where the work on existing piles is impossible due to the influence from lack of space and surrounding environment. In such cases, there has been growing cases of using the micropile method that is available to work with the small equipment and asserts the bearing capacity of the existing piles. The micropile method is a type of drilled shaft with the diameter of a pile to be around 75 mm~300 mm that, even for a case where it has certain surrounding structure, foundation and spatial obstacle, there is almost no work difficulty and the work is feasible under all types of soil conditions. In addition, the work can be done in places where the ceiling of the building is low with less vibration and noise in the work process that such method is significantly used for foundation reinforcement of existing buildings. With respect to the motion characteristics that are changed depending on the foundational characteristics or when the micropile is applied with compression or tensile force, there is very few studies conducted. Therefore, under this study, through the data analysis of the field loading test regarding the micropile worked in the fields, it clarifies the settlement and characteristics of bearing capacity following the embedded condition of the ingredients and piles that consist the foundation if the compression and tensile force are applied to the micropile, and by facilitating the statistical analysis program, SAS, to carry out the analysis on the main elements influencing on settlement of the micropile and bearing capacity.

When designing building structures, dynamic serviceability is one of the most important items. Much research is being carried out on machine vibrations that affect inside residents and expensive equipment in the building structure. The vibration effect generally depends on the mass ratio, and an adequate mass ratio is determined by comparison with the serviceability limit according to the criteria. This study investigates the evaluation of vibration serviceability by using ISO 2631 to confirm the propriety of adequate mass ratios and it is verified that the application of a complicated FE model to model the real large shaking table facility with the mathematical model simulated as a SDOF system. The weighted RMS value is then compared with the comfort limit given by ISO 2631. As a result, the analysis of the numerical model is consistent with analysis of the FE model. Moreover, it is found that the adequate mass ratio of the concrete foundation and shake table, considering the self-weight of the real facility, should be less than 0.013. It is also confirm that the sample facility is satisfies the requirement of an adequate mass ratio.

In the shipyard, aerial images are acquired at regular intervals using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for the management of external storage yards. These images are then investigated by humans to manage the status of the storage yards. This method requires a significant amount of time and manpower especially for large areas. In this paper, we propose an automated management technology based on a semantic segmentation foundation model to address these challenges and accurately assess the status of external storage yards. In addition, as there is insufficient publicly available dataset for external storage yards, we collected a small-scale dataset for external storage yards objects and equipment. Using this dataset, we fine-tune an object detector and extract initial object candidates. They are utilized as prompts for the Segment Anything Model(SAM) to obtain precise semantic segmentation results. Furthermore, to facilitate continuous storage yards dataset collection, we propose a training data generation pipeline using SAM. Our proposed method has achieved 4.00%p higher performance compared to those of previous semantic segmentation methods on average. Specifically, our method has achieved 5.08% higher performance than that of SegFormer.
Objectives : To review a Tanzanian medical engineering education program and determine improvement measures for the Official Development Assistance (ODA) healthcare projects. This paper presents the development of a floating outboard type of compact water jet propulsion system. The planning case of the water jet system is developed by performing precision processing after manufacturing FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) from plug mold casting. This system is composed of an intake, impeller, diffuser, reverse bucket, and main shaft. In addition, a rebuilt engine was applied through marine engineering. The water jet propulsion system performance was verified to discharge a maximum $0.29m^3/s$ of flow rate and 37 m/s of flow velocity in a test pool on land. A field test was performed by installing the water jet propulsion device on board a ship that was tested off the coast of Korea. The weight of the hull, engine, and other equipment was approximately 1.2 tons, and the sailing speed was a maximum 22 knots at 3,600 rpm.
A high-order nonlocal strain gradient model is developed for wave propagation analysis of porous FG nanoplates resting on a gradient hybrid foundation in thermal environment, for the first time. Material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent and graded in the nanoplate thickness direction. To consider the thermal effects, uniform, linear, nonlinear, exponential, and sinusoidal temperature distributions are considered for temperature-dependent FG material properties. On the basis of the refined-higher order shear deformation plate theory (R-HSDT) in conjunction with the bi-Helmholtz nonlocal strain gradient theory (B-H NSGT), Hamilton's principle is used to derive the equations of wave motion. Then the dispersion relation between frequency and wave number is solved analytically. The influences of various parameters (such as temperature rise, volume fraction index, porosity volume fraction, lower and higher order nonlocal parameters, material characteristic parameter, foundations components, and wave number) on the wave propagation behaviors of porous FG nanoplates are investigated in detail.
