생태관광자원으로서의 우포늪의 지속가능성 평가모형 (The Sustainability Assessment Model for Upo Wetland as a Eco-Tourism Resources)

  • 생태생태관광자원의 지속가능성을 평가하기 위해 생태관광과 관련한 전문가 집단 135명을 대상으로 설문조사하여 지속가능성에 크게 영향을 미치는 중요요인에 대한 가중치의 산정, 평가지표의 개발 및 수리적 평가모형을 정의하여 우포늪을 대상으로 평가를 실행하였다. 그 결과 현재 상태의 우포늪에 대한 지속가능성 등급수준을 확인하였으며, 등급수준의 상향을 위해 세부항목별 향상방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 우포늪을 대상으로 하였으나, 생태관광자원의 지속가능성 평가에 대한 구체적인 연구모형과 방법을 제시함으로써 보다 과학적이며 체계적으로 지속가능성을 평가할 수 있는 근거를 마련하였다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

  • 이 글은 물질흐름분석(MFA)이 지속가능성을 둘러싼 추상적인 개념 대립(약지속가능성과 강지속가능성)을 극복하고 지속가능성의 문제를 구체적인 정책 수준에서 논의할 수 있음을 보인다. 이를 위해 물질흐름분석이란 동일한 논리구조가 현실의 국민경제(EW-MFA)에서부터 산업(PIOT/NAMEA) 그리고 제품(LCI)에 이르기까지 구체적이고 일관성 있게 적용될 수 있음을 보이고, 각 유형의 MFA가 지닌 의의와 정책적 함의를 구명한다.

시스템사고로 본 압축도시의 공간적 특성과 지속가능성과의 동태적 관계 (System Thinking Perspective on the Dynamic Relationship between Spatial Characteristics of Compact City and Urban Sustainability)

  • The purpose of this paper is to review relationship between spatial characteristics of compact city and urban sustainabiliy from system dynamics perspective using causal loop analysis. It has been argued that spatial characteristics of compact city, high population density and mixed land use, are positively related to urban sustainability. However, research results that are not consistent with pros of compact city argument have been accumulated too. It is especially true when spatial characteristics of compact city are examined with regard to each dimension of sustainablility: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Reviewing each dimension of sustainability with regard to spatial characteristics based on causal loop analysis, this paper provides more clear understanding on relationship between compact city and sustainability. Also this paper provides a base for system dynamics simulation for future study.

6차 산업에서 기업가 정신이 지속가능성과 혁신성과에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Entrepreneurship on Sustainability and Innovation Performance in the 6th Industry)

  • Purpose: This study highlights the importance of emphasizing entrepreneurship and sustainability among managers to address the challenges of Industry 6.0, especially in situations of increasing environmental uncertainty. The research model reveals the important structural relationship between entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation performance, and through empirical analysis, we sought to confirm that entrepreneurship in the 6th industry is related to technological innovation. Methods: A survey was conducted targeting 6th industry entrepreneurs, and the relationship was analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. Results: Despite a non-significant direct relationship between entrepreneurship and innovation performance, a notable effect of sustainability on innovation performance was identified. This highlights the fact that entrepreneurship contributes to firm performance through innovation activities, especially in the form of technological innovation. Conclusion: This study highlights the essential characteristics of entrepreneurship and sustainability, highlights their interconnectedness and suggests that their inclusion in the same management activities improves performance.

How to Keep the Sustainability of the Landscape Resources of the East Coast in South Korea

  • The purpose of this study is to present the conditions and methods for keeping the sustainability of the landscape resources of the East Coast of Gangwon province, the Republic of Korea by investigating the landscape resources management in the area and pointing out its problems. The unit of analysis in this study is four cities and two counties located along the national road route seven in Gangwon province. The classification and characteristics of the landscape resources in this area was analyzed by a literature review, and we surveyed the tourists visiting the area and statistically analyzed the data in order to examine their satisfaction with the landscape resources management and make recommendations. The problems of the landscape resources management are: 1) the disturbance of the persistence of life by reclamation, the population reduction in the ecosystem due to the overload in environmental capacity, and the severance of space between land and water. 2) the reduction of the benefits from indirect experience by interfering with the conservation of fluxes --- the manipulation of horizontal arrangement of the landscape resource, the visual disturbance by the construction of high-storied buildings, and the disharmony between the color/image and the environment. The means for keeping sustainability of the landscape resources include the regulations of development and use, the change in the recognition of the value of landscape resources and the moral system, and the improvement of resource management skills.

A Basic Study to Measure the Effectiveness of the Korean Green Building Certification System in Terms of Sustainability

  • Humanity is facing a number of serious issues associated with increased energy consumption and environmental pollution. Various studies/guidelines concerning sustainable building construction have suggested solutions to these disastrous problems, including: net-zero energy buildings, the green building certification system, and others. Sustainability pursues three expected effects: environmental, social, and economic merits. Korean Green Building Council (K-GBC) has also announced the Korean Green Building Certification System (K-GBCS) since 2003 based on sustainability. Some positive social and environmental aspects of the K-GBCS have already been reported. However, it is somewhat difficult to verify its economic merits, which are crucial to ensuring the validity of the K-GBCS. This research aims to verify the economic merits of the eco-friendly Korean-style condominiums accredited by K-GBCS. Following this, the expected economic effectiveness of K-GBCS will be examined in terms of sustainability. The underlying assumption is that the potential economic effect should reflect the actual economic merits, and should reflect the value of the housing in particular. According to the analysis of the variance, it can be concluded the value of green certified buildings is statistically higher than the value of non-certified buildings. Furthermore, it was also observed that this tendency was more dominant in Gyeonggi Province than in the City of Seoul. This may be caused by one of the variables: the proximity to downtown. In future studies, this variable should be studied in greater detail.

국제항만 운영에서 지속가능한 항만경쟁력 확보방안 (Sustainable Port Competitiveness in International Port Operations)

  • 경쟁력을 바탕으로 지속가능한 성장이 요구되는 동북아 항만경쟁 구조에서 경제적 사회적 환경적 측면을 아우르는 지속가능한 항만경쟁력 확보의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 하지만 경쟁력을 다루는 기존 연구들은 단기적인 관점에서 항만 자체의 경쟁능력을 구성하는 결정요인들에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 항만의 지속가능성을 다루는 연구 역시 기후변화 또는 환경부화의 최소화와 같은 환경적 요인을 중점적으로 다루면서, 항만의 경쟁력과 지속가능성 간의 이론적 괴리가 발생하였다. 이 연구는 지속가능성을 구성하는 TBL(Triple bottom line)을 바탕으로 지속가능한 항만경쟁력을 재해석하였고, 다각적으로 관련 활동들을 분석/분류함으로써 지속가능한 항만경쟁력 확보 방안 및 시사점을 도출하였다. 연구결과는 항만경쟁력 연구의 이론적 진보뿐만 아니라, 상업적 항만의 지속가능한 개발/운영 전략 수립 및 전략적 의사 결정에 중대한 시사점을 제공한다.

생태관광지의 지속가능성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Sustainability of Ecotourism Destination)

  • 생태관광은 관광객의 다양한 욕구를 충족시켜주는 동시에 관광지의 환경을 보전할 수 있는 관광유형으로 인식됨으로써 지속가능한 관광과 동일한 것으로 규정되어왔다 그러나 최근에 형성된 다수의 생태관광지가 환경파괴에 직면하고 있음으로써 생태관광에 대한 인식의 새로운 전환이 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 제주도내 3개 생태관광지의 지속가능성을 평가함으로써 지속가능한 관광으로의 적격여부를 판단하고, 생태관광에 대한 인식의 새로운 지평을 확립하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 조사 결과 송당리 아부오름과 종달리 체험어장의 지속가능성은 낮은 것으로 나타났고, 예래동 생태관광마을은 지속가능성이 논은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 곧 생태관광이 지속가능한 관광과 동일하지 않다는 것을 의미하며, 올바른 관광계획, 개발, 관리에 따라 지속가능한 관광으로 발전할 수 있음을 시사하는 것이다.
