The purpose of this research is to provide a basic framework of design guideline for elderly people who can live without inconvenience. It is time to think about how to create an age-friendly city for the Korean society which is rapidly advancing in population aging. Design guidelines studied in this research cover not only architecture but also urban, landscape and transportation fields, and consist of 90 items in 7 areas (park&open space, buildings, pedestrian street, crosswalk&bicycle lane, bus stop&subway station, parking housing). The importance of each item and each area were surveyed to verify objectivity. The result of importance of each item can be used to select design guidelines which can be applied first to create an aged-friendly physical environment.

The purpose of this study is to analyze minimalism in the environment-friendly aspect and to suggest methodology of environment-friendly fashion design. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is possible to create newly fashion-designed goods by re-arranging used goods. This method is environment-friendly, in that it recycles resources and simplifies production process. It can also meet the sense of beauty of consumers by reviving the intrinsic beauty of the used goods. Second, When we produce brand new fashion-designed goods with used goods as raw materials, the new ones reflect specific characters of the used goods which originate from their own times and regions. In this way, this method can be a fashion design which accommodate multi-cultural trends. Third, it is possible to produce goods designed by inspiration from a human body. This fashion-design method includes several ways, such as usage of human body silhouette, composition of colors using natural dyeing, and usage of natural materials. Recognizing a human being as a creature interacting with the nature can broaden range of imagination in design methodology.

Housing problems in city have being caused social contradiction that contains social discord and conflict between poor and rich. And they have raised one of social problems including a disequilibrium of demand and supply, a housing trouble, and a poor residential environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest to the improvement of social housing that exposes to a poor environment for social integration. For this, this study is to extract environmental-friendly design factors for each building phase by in-depth evaluation of experts, and to analyze the problems of domestic social housing and environment-friendly design factors considered prior literature. The results as follow. It might be considered highly phase of schematic design, The building construction, and performance management having factors. Specially, it analyzed to 'Living Environment', 'Economic Efficiency', and 'renewable Energy Systems' should be considered highly. Ultimately, this study would be reconsidered the improvement of social housing proposed by the Government for the social outcast.

The attention of brand apartment is flourishing along with growing concerns about resident's health and their housing. This study examined the environment-friendly features on six brand apartments in Kangnam area in Seoul since 2000. The findings were as follows: The environment-friendly features of most brand apartments are in satisfactory level. The environment-friendly parking lot and greenzone were satisfactory on the viewpoint of ecology. From the perspective of relationship between housing and environment there was lack of the consideration of locality issues. However, from the perspective of health and comfortability there was lack of indoor planting.

Recently the importance of the elderly facilities and the eco-friendly buildings is on the rise, due to the rapid increase of the aged population and the more and more serious global environment issues, respectively. Thus, the purpose of this study is to suggest an eco-environmental improvement plan which aims to improve the quality of life for the aged in planning nursing homes hereafter by reviewing the theory of the eco-friendly architectural concept and the same conceptual design, which become the issues of late, and thus analyzing the state of applying the eco-friendly design techniques to the municipal nursing homes located in Seoul. In this study its direction of the eco-friendly design required in nursing homes was established by reviewing the characteristics which the aged and nursing homes may have, and thus extracting the elements required for the quality of life for them. The theoretical studies showed that the environment-friendly natural elements necessary for the nursing houses are light, air and plants, from which three design elements are obtained: daylighting, natural ventilation and natural landscape. In conclusion, the eco-friendly nursing homes must be planned to improve the quality of life for the aged by recognizing that the eco-friendly architecture concept, emerged as a new paradigm, is the one to be put before all the considerations for those who are sensitive to the environment, and thus reviewing the characteristics found out from them.

본 연구 목적은 아동친화도시의 관점에서 초등학교 주변 환경에 적용된 공공디자인을 살펴보고 이를 위한 개선방안과 지침을 제시하고자 하는 데에 있다. 먼저 <아동권리공약>을 기준으로, UN에서 발표한 아동친화도시의 관련 문헌 및 선전시 아동친화도시와 관련된 문헌을 종합하여 아동친화학교의 주변환경에 적용된 공공디자인의 5대 원칙을 도출한다. 5대 원칙은 안전한 환경, 보호 조치, 보행에 적합한 환경, 혼자 외출할 수 있는 환경, 편리과 재미있는 환경이다. 다음으로는 앞서 도출한 5대 원칙을 기준으로 중국 선전시 복전구에 위치한 25개 국립초등학교의 주변 환경에 적용된 공공디자인을 조사, 연구하고, 5대 원칙에 따라 공공디자인의 품질수준을 평가하였으며, 낮은 품질 수준의 공공디자인이 존재한 문제점을 지적하였다. 선전시에 위치한 초등학교 주변의 공공디자인에 존재하는 문제는 공공공간, 공공시설, 그리고 공공매체 디자인이라는 세 가지 방면에서 개선이 가능하며, 보다 환경의 안전성을 확보할 수 있고 아동을 보호할 수 있어야 한다, 또한 아동의 보행환경에 적합하고 아동이 혼자서도 쉽게 다닐 수 있게 되며, 아동의 생리와 심리적 요구에 부합한 편리성과 재미있는 디자인을 적용할 수 있어야 한다. 디자인을 통해 아동에게 친화성을 유발할 수 있을 것이다. 선전시 초등학교 주변 환경을 위한 개선 방법은 선전시의 아동 친화도시를 조성하기 위한 발전적 지표가 될 것이다.

The ideal housing in the 21st century means that it can provide people with the balanced life between nature and human life, while is possible through the systematic harmony of nature, environment, and human. As our society increasingly pays attention to the importance of environment, environment friendly houses and ecological dwellings are being built. If we add our own cultural environment attribute and historical identity to the ecological housing, we can create the most unique Korean ecological architecture. This study examines ecological interior expression methods from the traditional housing architecture which started out of nature, in order to find out an ecological approach in the interior design of the dwelling space. Based upon this examination, it mainly focuses on how these methods can be applied to a modern housing architecture. From an ecological perspective, the traditional house interior has two distinct characteristics; nature friendly and human friendly, because it considered nature and human harmoniously. The interior of the traditional housing can be divided into three types; nature friendly, health friendly, and human friendly. Finally, this study investigates the ecological value of the three types and application of them to modern housing. It will help to find out the harmonious way of building a house harmonizing both nature and human. Especially, considering that the nature is being destructed and the health of human is deteriorating due to the destruction of the nature, this study will show a feasible alternative to build the most Korean style of environmental architecture.

This study focused on designing environment-friendly furnitures by recycling useless stuffs. I designed environment-friendly furnitures by using plastic manekings, which do not decay easily. Designing environment-friendly furnitures by using maneking, we should consider the following; to make our surrounding comfortable and pleasant, to make the appearance of the streets more beautiful, and to consider our future environment. We need to use reusable and recyclable wastes much more to make environment-friendly furnitures from now on.

Recently severity of ecological adaptation and climatic change due to global warming grows larger. According to the fourth report of IPCC in 2007, emission quantity of the earth greenhouse gas(GHGs) generated by activity of mankind increased with 80% since 1970. And it is forecasted that worldwide greenhouse gas will be increased with 25~90%(corresponding to $CO_2$) between 2000 and 2030. This increment of greenhouse gas($CO_2$) is expected to raise average temperature of the earth with the maximum $6.4^{\circ}C$, and sea surface with 59cm in 2090. Like this, destruction of environment by greenhouse gas is regarded as universal problem threatening the existence, not only the problem of one nation. Consequently, systematic correspondence to the global warming at the aspect of energy consumption is also needed in Korea. From the analysis result of 'Statistics of Energy Consumption' published by Green Korea in 2007, energy consumption increment of domestic universities was higher as many as 3.7 times than 22.5% of the whole energy consumption increment in our country. This says to be the direct example which shows that universities are huge sources of greenhouse gas emission. New constructing and enlarging buildings of each universities within campus are the most major reason for such a large increment of energy consumption in universities. The opinion that the possibility of causing energy waste and efficiency reduction is raised by increased buildings of universities has been propounded. That is, universities should make concrete goal and the plan for reducing emission of green house gas against climatic change, and should practice. Accordingly, there is the meaning that 2 aspects of environment-friendly design characteristics, that is application of energy utilizing technology, material usage of energy efficiency-side and environment-side, and introduction of natural element in the environmental aspect, were analyzed for facilities of university campus designed in environment-friendly point of view from initial stage of plan, and direction of environment-friendly design of university facilities in the future was groped in order to grasp environment-friendly design tendency of internal and external University facilities based on this analysis of this paper.
