The Study for the Assessment of the Noise Map for the Railway Noise Prediction Considering the Input Variables (철도소음예측시 입력변수의 영향을 고려한 소음지도 작성 및 평가)

  • The noise map can be applied to predict the effect of noise and establish the noise reduction measure. But the predicted value in the noise map can vary depending on the input variables. Thus, we surveyed the several prediction models and analyzed the changes corresponding to the variables for obtaining the coherency and accuracy of prediction results. As a result, we know that the Schall03 and CRN model can be applied to predict the railway noise in Korea and the correction value, such as bridges correction, multiple reflection correction, curve correction must be used for reflecting the condition of the prediction site. Also, we know that the prediction guideline is an essential prerequisite in order to obtain the unified and accurate predicted value for railway noise.

  • Apartment and large residence buildings are necessary to ensure a comfortable noise/vibration environment. So. it must be performed a anti-vibration/noise evaluation at early design stage, such as utility room arrangement, machinery installation method and so on. In this paper. environment noise status on problem areas, which was issued by resident. was investigated to understand the noise transmission property generated from underground machinery room and to device a optimized countermeasure in order to enhance noise environment. Also, the measured noise levels before and after modification works are compared to confirm the effectiveness of proposed countermeasure.

Analysis of Noise Environment of Cafe Occupants According to Interior Finishing (실내 인테리어 마감재에 따른 카페 재실자의 소음 환경 영향 분석)

  • Indoor noise environment is an important factor when it comes to occupants comfort, especially in cafe. Results of the survey, 33.9% of occupants were feel unpleasant and sensitive about noise environment. Noise in cafe fluctuate depending on the finishing of both wall and ceiling, volume of the room, and the number of occupants in the room. Therefore, the noise meter device was used for measurement of various under conditions. Also, the subjective assessment of occupant noise was conducted through questionnaires. When the interior finish was exposed concrete, the maximum value of the noise measurement was 66.6 dB and the minimum value was 63 dB, respectively. Also, the result of subjective assessment of unpleasant noise were 5.43 and 4.96 point of 10 point of noise and echo, respectively. Otherwise, the interior finish was gypsum board, the maximum value of the noise measurement was 73.8 dB and the minimum value was 60.4 dB, respectively. Also, the result of subjective assessment of unpleasant noise were 3.88 and 3.95 point of 10 point of noise and echo, respectively. The results of the study showed that the noises and echoes in the cafes were lower than when did not.

Noise Reduction Method for Environment Friendly Housing Estate (신도시 친환경 주거단지조성을 위한 소음저감 대책방안)

  • For housing estate of a new administrative capital city, Noise reduction method is a important design factor. As measuring a noise level of traffic noise according to separation from road, it can be created a quite housing estate. Analyzing of merits and demerits in sound barrier walls and tunnels can be proposed environment friendly soundproofing facilities. Number of measurement was performed to know what kind of layout of housing estate is good for noise reduction. Through this measurement, ㄷ shaped layout or parallel layout has the advantage of sound insulation rather than right angled layout. In this case (ㄷ shaped layout or parallel layout) buildings neighboring to the road should be designed to insulate sound. Evergreen trees should be planted between housing estate and road more than 30m (at least 7~8m) in order to reduce noise and have masking effects. If broad-leaved trees are planted more than 30m, approximately 10dB noise is reduced and 2~4dB if 7~8m. Roads in the estate should be designed considering pedestrians first, and special roads for moving and ambulance should be designed as skew road, if possible. The result shows that 15$^{\circ}$-sloped‘S’road reduces 1~2dB noise and 30$^{\circ}$-sloped road reduces 4~7dB. If noise barrier is inevitably installed, it should be designed to go well wit neighboring environment so as to install Environment Friendly Noise Barrier using materials and trees including wood and soil. Through this study the results are used to guideline for construction of environment friendly housing estate

  • Noise map is becoming an increasingly important tool supporting noise policy. In order to main am a quiet environment of urban areas, noise map was developed by using GIS technique which combines geographic and noise informations with a database management system. By evaluating various methods of the spatial anal: sis, it was concluded that the inverse distance weighted method gave the best results and was applied to develope the noise maps of road noise.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose indoor noise level in residential buildings affected by transportation noise (road traffic, railway and air-craft noise) based on subjective evaluations, 30 subjects participated in the experiment to evaluate the noise. Experimental environment reproduced real living and office environment, and in asking subjects' annoyance to the noise. An experiment to investigate the subjective responses to various computer noises (CD-Rom, HDD, Fan) in office environment was also undertaken. The Result shows that the lower limit of transportation noise is $40{\sim}41dB(A)$ and upper limit is $55{\sim}60dB(A)$, whereas the lower limit of various computer noises is $36{\sim}40dB(A)$ and upper limit is $45{\sim}52dB(A)$.

  • The ship working environment of combat service support boat is very inferior to the ground working environment. For this reason, the crew of a combat service support boat suffer from an occupational disease such as hardness of hearing. Owing to its small size and low status, the improvement of its working and residential environment is occasionally ignored and its indoor noise was not fully investigated. In this study, for improving its residential environment indoor, the indoor noise of its shipboard compartments was analysed.

  • Recently, the impact on hearing induced by using of portable audio equipment have been actively studied. In general, Because they turn the volume up with loud background noise, they may expose to louder noise. In this study, we investigated the maximum noise level of 20 the domestic potable audio equipment and estimated the impact of the hearing induced by portable audio equipment in according to exposure time. As a result, the use of portable audio equipment is assumed to be more three hours when the level of more than 50 % of volume is most likely to affect the hearing.

A Study on Perceptual Evaluation of Noise Sources in Living Environment (생활소음의 감성적 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The subjective unwantedness felt from the noise sources in living environment has been evaluated by investigating the limit of perceptual loudness of the noise. The noise limits were selected by the subjects. And the noises were analyzed to find out whether there is any correlation with Zwicker parameters and ACF/IACF factors. It seemed that the loudness of noise from vacuum cleaner does not affect its perceives noisiness. Traffic noise also seems to be less influential in annoyance rating. It was resealed that floor impact noise generated by bang machine is the most irritating noise that can be heard in residential buildings.
