Development of Contents Syndication Systems for Engineering Information Management in Semi-conductor Industries (반도체 산업의 공학 정보 관리를 위한 컨텐츠 신디케이션 시스템의 개발)

  • Enterprise Content Integration (ECI)is an IT strategy that improves enterprise' competitive advantages by integrating enterprise wide information and content into a unified view, which in turn supports efficient and effective decision making. Content Syndication Systems (CSS) is a solution that implements the ECI strategy. In semi-conductor industries, it is usual that enterprise content is scattered over tens of legacy systems. Therefore, engineers in semi-conductor companies spend a few hours to locate required engineering information on a daily basis as part of their jobs. In this paper, we develop an enterprise CSS system that integrates enterprise wide contents into a unified view that is suitable for semi-conductor industries. For this research, we first define enterprise CSS, then identify their systems requirements. Then we propose an architecture supporting the identified requirements, and present the implemented prototype. One of the most important requirements is the individualized subscription rule setting for engineering information. For this purpose, we developed methods to represent the information properties and subscription rules.

The Effects of Internal Communication, Techno-stress, and Task-Technology Fit on Intention of Continuous Use of Enterprise Content Management System (사내 커뮤니케이션, 기술 스트레스, 업무기술 적합성이 기업콘텐츠관리시스템 지속적 이용 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, organizations are making significant technology investments to build a centralized content management system. However, high-quality technology adoption can conversely create techno-stress in the user and cause negative behavior. The purpose of this study is to suggest the negative effects and mitigation directions of enterprise content management system(ECMS) related techno-stress. In order to verify the hypothesis, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on employees of organizations that adopted content management technology and conducted structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, ECMS related techno overload and complexity decreased the intention of continuous use of ECMS. But, internal communication activities reduced ECMS related techno stress and task-technology fit moderated the relationship between techno-stress and intention of continuous use of ECMS. The study has implications in terms of suggesting a strategic direction to minimize the negative causes of the use of content management systems.

Virtual Folder Based Approach to Digital Contents Control (가상폴더 접근방식의 디지털콘텐츠 관리방안)

  • EDMS systems have been a main alternative for enterprise content management (ECM), which provide valuable functions for the effective control and management of organization-level digital contents. However, it has not been effective frequently for the purpose of integrative control of overall contents in an organization. One of reasons for this problem is that individuals usually create and store files with their own personal computers and do not move them to the central storage and control device, EDMS. Many occasions show that this situation can cause undesirable results for better management of enterprise contents. This paper introduced an approach of virtual folder which can directly connect individual computers and EDMS storage device without users' inconvenience. Adding the capacity of restricting usage of individual computer, users unavoidably and conveniently store and retrieve digital contents using EDMS server system. Several modules and implementing architecture for the virtual folder system are shown and the results of utilizing the system are explained with a case of application.

Management Accounting System Utilized to Encounter COVID-19: A Case of Small Enterprises in the Service Sector in Thailand

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate COVID-19's impact on firm survival, as well as the management accounting system's role in adjusting operation efficiency for business survival. Two sets of data comprising small enterprises in the service sector were used. The first business group serves customers who have changed their lifestyle to a new normal. The second business group serves customers who are affected by social distancing measures. The data was collected based on an in-depth interview method. The data was then evaluated using content analysis and analytic comparison. The results show that the COVID-19 situation positively impacts the business survival of the service businesses group that serves customers who have changed lifestyles. However, COVID-19 has a negative effect on the survival of service business groups that serve customers affected by social distancing measures. In addition, the management accounting used during COVID-19, small enterprises have analyzed the operating environment and used the information stored in the database to determine goals for the operation. This study provides comprehensive economic effects and the utilization of management accounting systems. The accounting systems helped to decide to adjust the operation process during the quick changing of the environment of the small enterprise in the service sector.

  • This research proposes a new approach to measure corporate contributions to sustainability called Sustainable Value. With some global corporations which recognize the seriousness of environmental crisis and their social responsibility, enterprises are positively accepting the sustainable management. Also, publication of the sustainability report is proliferating which is showing the enterprise's strategy, activity, result and influence in environmental, economic, social cases to the stakeholder. However, to settle and proliferate this current, it rests with how to evaluate enterprises sustainability in reasonable and reliable figure. In this context, what introduced and taking effects are sustainability report evaluation and awarding system. But the quality of sun stainability report and its content's depth and the evaluation of enterprise's sustainability itself should be distinguished. Because the enterprise which published excellent graded sustainability report is not always the enterprise that is sustainable. Then, how could we prove the result of enterprise's sustainable management based on sustainability report? This paper is to find the answer and to utilize it based on sustainability report, particularly sustainable value model as the central figure.

  • Electronic commerce part is changing rapidly for more efficient service support according to customer's inclination and request which pass over the time and space. That is, It was considered in customer's side that process and management of content by various articles, and component base development was considered in side of developer and administrator to operate this effectively. So, electronic commerce system need component based development that can be coped with efficient and active it and goods contents management to customers various inclination. Thus, in this research we implemented goods purchase system based on EJB(Enterprise Java Beans) of sewer side component mode. That is, each function part from goods contents to purchase is implemented to component which is independent execution module. Accordingly, component which is independence function part can cope actively in process of contents that change variously.

  • As systematic information protection and management is recognized as an organization's core value, organizations are pursuing a shift from an individual-centered information management method to an organization-oriented information management method. The Enterprise content management system(ECMS) is a solution that supports document security and information sharing by insiders and is being introduced by many organizations due to recent technological developments. The purpose of this study is to present a method of improving performance through continuous use of the ECMS from the user's point of view and also suggest a method to improve the intention of continuous use through the expansion of the technology acceptance model. This study surveyed the employees of organizations that adopted the ECMS and verified the research hypothesis derived from previous studies through structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, usefulness, and ease of use affected on the intention of continuous use of the ECMS, and the knowledge sharing culture and the ECMS quality factors affected the technology acceptance model factors. The results of this study have academic and practical significance in terms of suggesting a plan to increase the usability of the ECMS from the user's point of view.

  • Negotiation is a process of reaching an agreement on the terms of a transaction. such as price, quantity, for two or more parties. Negotiation tries to maximize the benefits for all parties concerned. instead of using human-based negotiation. the e-commerce environment provides such an environment as adopting automated negotiation. Thus. choosing agent technology is appropriate for an automatic electronic negotiation platform. since autonomous software agents strive for the best deal on behalf of the human participants. Negotiation agents need a clear-cut definition of negotiation models or strategies. In reality, most bargaining systems embody nearly one negotiation model. In this article. we present a mobile agent negotiation system with reusable negotiation strategies that allows agents to dynamically embody a user's favorite negotiation strategy which can be preinstalled as a component in the system. We develop a prototype system, which is fully implemented in compliance with FIPA specifications, and then. describe the benefits of using the system.

  • Intranet is an enterprise network using Internet protocols as communication standard and HTML as content standard. The Internet is like a house built on information water. It has a lot of strong points as a future enterprise network. However, companies wish to have confidence in its functional and economic effectiveness and security before adopting it. The security issue especially is a problem to solve inevitably. Enterprises will hold back to adopt Intranet unless there are enough security counter plans and countermeasures against vulnerabilities of Intranet(it is the wise decision !). Nevertheless the researches related to Intranet has been concentrated on techniques for building it. In this paper, we focus the security aspect of Intranet. Intranet security must be considered on the whole from structure design to users' services. We propose a security-based Intranet structure and security management system.

  • As information is recognized as an important asset of an organization, organizations are increasing their resource input for knowledge management. In particular, the enterprise content management system(ECMS) is a solution for organization-oriented content management, and it has high utility by helping to achieve business performance through systematic utilization of content and improve the level of internal information security. The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to improve the intention to use organizational employee's ECMS and to suggest the effect of the relationships between information system quality characteristics and work environment characteristics on intention to use. In this study, a research hypothesis was presented based on previous studies, a questionnaire was conducted on workers of organizations that adopted an ECMS, and the hypothesis was verified by applying structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, information and service quality of the ECMS and task interdependence increased the intention to use, but task conflict decreased the intention to use. In addition, task interdependence and task conflict moderated the positive relationship between the quality factors of the ECMS and the intention to use it. This study has implications in terms of suggesting the direction of the organization's behavior through factors that increase the use of ECMS.
