S 대학교 교양필수 과목인 영어회화는 영어교육을 강화하기 위해 블렌디드 학습으로 설계되었다. 이 블렌디드 학습이 학습자의 학업성취도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 학업성취도의 변인에 대한 연구가 진행되었다. 연구결과로 성별, 전공, 군복무, 해외거주 경험, 면대면 출석, 퀴즈, 온라인 출석이 학업성취도에 영향을 미치고 온라인 학습방식(학습장소, 학습시간, 학습빈도)은 학업성취도와 상관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 온라인 학습만족도는 강사 만족도, 학습내용 만족도, 시스템 만족도로 나누어 조사했는데, 그 결과 단지 시스템 만족도만 학업성취도에 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.

본 논문에서는 영어 회화 교육을 위한 예제 기반 대화 시스템에 대해 논한다. 기존의 획일적인 멀티미디어 영어 학습에서 벗어나 자연어 처리 및 대화 기술을 이용하여 지능적인 일대일 영어 회화 교육 제공을 목적으로 한다. 본 시스템은 미숙한 학습자 발화를 이해할 수 있으므로 불완전한 언어 구사 능력으로도 대화를 참여할 수 있는 체험형 학습을 제공한다. 이를 통해 학습자에게 영어를 배우려는 흥미로운 동기를 부여한다. 또한 학습자의 표현력 향상을 위한 교육적인 도움 기능을 갖추고 있다. 이를 위해 우리는 학습자의 미숙한 표현을 이해하는 담화 상황 고려 발화의도 인식 모델, 도메인 확장성이 뛰어난 예제 기반 대화 관리 모델, 교육 및 평가 기능을 개발하였다. 실험 결과 학습자의 발화에 에러가 많아도 높은 발화의도 인식 성능을 보였으며 대화 상황에 적합한 피드백을 제공하여 학습자가 회화 연습을 끝까지 마치도록 도와 교육 효과에 이바지함을 알 수 있었다.

The present design, which is the result of English Zone Project for 'I' Girls' High School in Yeonsu dong, Incheon, purposed to produce atmosphere like a cafe so that students can attempt more comfortable and diverse learning methods, breaking away from the structure and atmosphere of traditional language labs while providing functions such as experiential learning, teaching learning and native speaker conversation. In addition, it applied colors close to primary colors so that students throw away their fixed idea of language lab as a special class and access it easily at any time. Moreover, it was designed for the maximum changeability using foldable and portable furniture so that various types of group study can be performed. Ultimately the design project is expected to suggest methods of experiential learning distinguished from existing knowledge delivering education as it provides teaching learning methods beyond simple interior design.

Past studies conducted on the students' verbal participation both in and out of class have explored and identified variables affecting the process of learning to speak English. However, little is known about the causes and effects of these variables. A survey form developed from a previous study was administered to 468 university students taking English conversation classes from native speakers of English. To better understand the causes and effects of speaking barriers, path analysis was administered as the main tool of investigation. The results of the study indicate that familiarities toward NS (Native Speaker) teachers, learner faithfulness, che-myon, NS teachers' classroom management skills, and NS teacher's trustworthiness account for 50.72% of speaking grades. These factors are causally related to learner attitudes. However, with regard to speaking grades, all of the above factors except che-myon are also causally related with each other. Therefore, it was concluded that learner attitudes can be improved by minimizing che-myon, however, che-myon itself cannot be a predictor of speaking grades. To validate the findings of the study, related research work is discussed and implications are provided.

These days, interest and demand on smart learning has rapidly increased. Video English and mobile system based English speaking service have become popular. This study gave prototype of application to give and take voice message with world people and to give new concept of voice pen-pal beyond exchange of text messages. In modern society having rapidly increasing demand on smart learning, you can study foreign language by smart phone and communicate with foreigners by voice anytime and anywhere. The app allows global exchange to learn conversation. Recruitment of initial users and profit model have problems. We shall develop to improve problems and to solve difficulty.

While use of computers to teach English in a conventional educational environment promotes motivation and effective learning in students, the method generates problems such as provision of learning materials without consideration of teaching methods and evaluation without consideration of individual differences in students. To solve these problems and produce a superior system, we propose knowledge representation of expert module for an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS).

최근 교육 분야에서 다양한 인공지능 기술을 활용한 연구와 개발이 이뤄지고 있다. 인공지능을 활용한 교육 중 특히 대화형 에이전트는 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 음성인식, 번역과 같은 다양한 인공지능 기술과 결합해 더 효과적인 언어 학습을 가능하게 한다. 본 논문은 상용화된 교육용 플랫폼 중 이용자 수가 많고 영어 학습을 위한 대화형 에이전트가 활용된 플랫폼에 대한 동향 분석을 진행하였다. 동향 분석을 통해 현재 상용화된 교육용 플랫폼의 대화형 에이전트는 여러 한계점과 문제점이 존재했다. 구체적인 문제점과 한계점 분석을 위해 사전 학습된 최신 대용량 대화 모델과 비교 실험을 진행하였고, 실험 방법으로 대화형 에이전트의 대답이 사람과 비슷한지를 평가하는 Sensibleness and Specificity Average (SSA) 휴먼 평가를 진행하였다. 실험 내용을 바탕으로, 효과적인 학습을 위해 개선방안으로 대용량 파라미터로 학습된 대화 모델, 교육 데이터, 정보 검색 기능의 필요성을 제안했다.

본 연구에서는 Keller의 ARCS 모형이라 불리는 체제적 접근 방법을 통하여 영어학습용 웹 코스웨어를 개발하여 동기유발 속성을 개선시켜 주는데 그 목적이 있다. Keller의 ARCS 동기 모형에는 네 개의 요소- 주의력, 관련성, 자신감, 만족감 -가 있다. 이 네 요소들의 웹 코스웨어에 대한 전략적 적용은 보다 효율적이고 체제적인 영어회화 학습을 가능하게 할 것이다. 본 연구를 설계하고 구현하기 위하여 ASP(Active Server Page)로 웹 페이지를 구성하였으며, 웹 서버로는 Personal web server를 사용하였고, 코스웨어를 저작하기 위한 도구로는 오쏘웨어를 이용하였다.

외국어 교육을 실현하기 위하여 기존의 다양한 교육 매체들이 제공되고 있지만, 교구 및 매체프로그램에 대한 비용이 많이 들고 실시간 대응력이 떨어지는 단점이 존재한다. 이 논문에서는 VR과 음성인식을 기반으로 한 인공지능 유형의 영어회화 시스템을 제안한다. 시스템 구축을 위해 Google CardBoard VR과 Google Speech API를 이용하며 가상현실 환경 제공 및 대화를 위한 인공지능 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 제안하는 음성인식 서버시스템에서는 사용자가 발화한 문장을 단어 단위로 분리해 데이터베이스에 저장된 데이터 단어들과 비교하여 확률적으로 가장 높은 것을 답으로 제공할 수 있으며 사용자들이 가상현실의 인물과 적절한 대화 및 응답이 가능하다. 대화가 제공되는 기능은 상황별 대화와 주제에 독립적이며, AI 비서와 나눈 대화 내용을 사용자 시스템에서 실시간 확인이 가능하도록 구현하였고 실험을 통하여 음성인식에 대한 응답비율을 확인하였다. 이 논문에서 제안하는 가상현실과 음성인식 기능을 접목한 시스템을 통하여 4차 산업혁명에 관련한 가상교육 콘텐츠 서비스 확장에 이바지할 것을 기대한다.

This paper determined students' ranks of difficulty on the use of materials in terms of 1) understanding the layout of the learning materials, 2) reading comprehension of the learning materials, and 3) realization on relevance to needs of the learning materials. It also determined students' 4) rank and frequency of attitude on the materials. With the data gathered through 128 survey questionnaires, 7 focused group discussions, and 10 interviews, the results were found out that there was an inappropriate assessment procedure set by this particular university. The researcher concludes that: 1) design of four types of classes by just using the two textbooks with their respective workbooks is grammar-based with limited conversation activities; 2) placement for these students in one big class size was implemented without considering their common interest and motivation and language levels; and, 3) qualification of teachers teaching these EFL students did not support students' real needs and the language program itself. Content professors who were made to teach may have the ability to input learning, but their teaching styles may differ from the ones who are real English teachers. This paper then recommends that teachers and school administration should have an appropriate placement exam before students attend the class, especially in a big class size. There could only be a few problems among students in one big class size when students' level of competence is proportioned. With this, topics and conversation activities can even be more flexible with the maneuver of art of questioning, various dimensions of thinking, strategic competence, learning attitude or behavior, etc. to ensure sustenance of communicative mode and level of interest and motivation in the classroom. Grammar-based instruction can only be taught when a need arises. Thus, the course description of each class will be able to transact the objectives ready for developing students' communication competence. Moreover, proper measurement can be utilized to validly assess the amount of students' learning and the progress of language curriculum design in terms of materials selection and teaching approach.
