Heart Sound Recognition using Principal Components Analysis (주성분 분석 기법을 이용한 심음 인식)

  • Recently many researches concerning heart sound analysis are being processed with development of digital signal processing and electronic components. But there are few researches about recognition of heart sound, especially full cardiac cycled heart sound, In this paper, a new recognition methods about. full cardiac cycled heart sound was proposed. For the first, the database was built by principal components analysis on training heart sound set. This database is used to recognize new input of heart sound, Ilear sounds were classified into seven classes such as normal(NO) class, pre-systolic murmurr(PS) class, early systolic murmur(ES) class, late systolic murmurr(LS) class, early diastolic murmur(EI) class, late diastolic murmur(LD) class and continuous murmuru(CM) class. As a result, we could verify that our new method has better efficiencies for the recognition the characteristics of heart sound than any precedent research. The maximum recognition rates of the new method are 71% for NO, 80% for PS and ES, 78% for LS, 87% for ED, 60% for LD and 20% for CM. Although the present results aren't practically sufficient to use our new method in recognizing heart sound, the importance of this paper is for recognition of heart sound within full cardiac cycle. We can get a better result by building a more efficient database.

Dominant Design Technology Strategy Based on Open Innovation : High Skewed Propeller(HSP) Design and Production System of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (개방형 기술혁신 기반의 지배적 디자인 기술개발 및 확보 전략 : 현대중공업의 HSP(High Skewed Propeller) 설계 및 생산 시스템)

  • This study presents a research model that demonstrates the dominant design technology strategy for developing and securing dominant design technology based on open innovation. For this purpose, this study developed a strategic model for the development and acquisition of design technology, production technology, and production system of propeller which satisfies the requirements of ship propulsion system required by ship owners and shipbuilders. By studying large propellers for ships, it is possible to embody a strategic model that can be used as a technology development strategy of dominant design that is effective in technology field of other industries. In this study, HSP (High Skewed Propeller) strategy of Hyundai Heavy Industries, which occupies the largest global market share (47.5%, 2007) for more than 30 years until now, is analyzed as a successful case to verify this strategic model. The development and acquisition strategy model of dominant design technology presented in this study consists of four stages : dominant design project strategy, dominant design engineering technology strategy, dominant design production technology strategy, and dominant design production system strategy. The strategic model summarizes the key activities at each stage. In addition, the steps and core activities of this strategic model were confirmed through the case study. As a technology development strategy of HSP products, Hyundai Heavy Industries utilized open innovation technology to cooperate with outside, that is, collaborative research and development with KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) research team, and succeeded in achieving technology development of dominant design of HSP products by linking it with HSP technology development and acquisition strategy.

Optimal Design of Thick Composite Wing Structure using Laminate Sequence Database (적층 시퀀스 데이터베이스를 이용한 복합재 날개 구조물의 최적화 설계)

  • This paper presents the optimum design methodology for composite wing structure which automatically calculates the safety margin using optimization framework integrating failure modes. Particularly, its framework is possible to optimize sizing procedure to prevent failure mode which has the greatest effect on reducing the sizing time of composite structure. The main failure mode was set as the first ply failure, buckling failure mode, and bolted joint stress field, and the margin was calculated to minimize the weight. The design variable is a laminate sequence database and the responses are strain, buckling, bolted joint stress field. The objective function is the mass of the wing structure. The results of buckling analysis were compared using the finite element model to verify the robustness and reliability of Composite Optimizer.

A Stduy on Learning Model for Effective Coding Education (효과적인 코딩교육을 위한 학습 모델에 대한 연구)

  • With our society entering the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there has been heightened interest in coding education, which has led to an increased number of coding classes offered in schools. Once catered to degree holders only, coding courses are now being offered as liberal arts courses to even non-majors. As the importance of computing abilities and creativity-oriented education through software learning becomes increasingly pronounced, the need for research on effective coding learning is growing more urgent. The present study sought an effective coding education model that would encourage and enhance learners' participation and interest in coding. The proposed learning model is designed to invoke learner's recognition of various coding grammars and data search in the process of designing and performing their own unique project. Application of the proposed learning model and analysis of such case studies showed improvement in learning outcomes. One can expect improved performance among learners if the proposed learning model is applied to various coding courses.

Design of Congestion Standardization System Based on IoT (IoT를 접목한 지하철 객차 내 혼잡도 평준화 시스템 설계)

  • The Seoul Metropolitan Subway, which started operating in 1974, plays a major role in transporting 7,289 thousands passengers daily. This trend of a steadily increase in passengers from 2012 has increased the congestion rate because of the limited capacity and time. To solve this problem, Seoul city is consistently working on improving the subway facilities, such as the construction of a detour path. This project, however, has only a slight effect on improving the congestion rate and is too expensive to construct the facilities. Hence, this study suggests The Congestion Standardization System based on the IoT for improving the subway congestion rate. Based on the system, the expected effect analysis was performed, which resulted in a decrease in ride passengers from 34 to 20. In addition, this expected effect analysis shows that the number of subway vehicles can increase from 20 to 24. The suggested system will have a significant effect on the efficiency of the management system.

  • In an environment transformed by smart factories, measuring the current level of the manufacturing system, deriving improvement targets and tasks and increasing the level of manufacturing competitiveness become the basic activities of the company. However, research on the component analysis and maturity assessment to ensure the future competitiveness of the company is in progress and in the early stages. This study analyzed the existing research on various models, development process, and framework for manufacturing system. In addition, we designed a structural model by deriving the components of future manufacturing system through smart factory related maturity assessment studies. We designed a meta-model that includes an assesment model and a transformation model, and derived the framework development process to propose an integrated framework for the maturity assessment of the future manufacturing system. We verified it by applying it into an actual evaluation project of smart factory.

Designing public service design education program to strengthen public service competencies -Focused on the case of workshop for policy providers- (공공서비스 역량 강화를 위한 공공서비스디자인 교육 프로그램 설계 -정책공급자 대상 워크숍 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to design public service design education to strengthen the public service competencies of policy providers necessary in the changing service administration era and to confirm the effectiveness through empirical cases. Based on the theoretical research of public service and public service design, an educational program linking public service competency elements with public service design methodology was designed, and the effects through case studies and surveys demonstrated through workshops were confirmed. Team activities and practice-oriented methods and tools based on the contents of the public service design project were particularly effective in strengthening collaboration and communication competencies, and overall satisfaction was confirmed. The educational program model of this study is meaningful by presenting and demonstrating practical education linking public service competencies for policy providers, and future studies will subdivide and verify the effectiveness of competency-based education model design.

  • To stem the ever-prevalent occurrence of industrial accidents in the construction industry, which is emerging as a social problem, efforts must be invested by various stakeholders. Specifically, among stakeholders, the orderer is at the top of a project's decision-making structure. Therefore, the orderer's awareness of safety and health directly affects the process of securing the safety of the overall construction site. In this light, the present study aims to identify differences in the perceptions of each stakeholder regarding the obligatory safety and health measures for clients that have recently been introduced. In addition, it suggests specific implementation plans in the Korean context. The data used for analysis were collected through a survey targeting stakeholders such as orderers, safety managers, and site managers, and the collected data were quantitatively reviewed by using multivariate analysis methods such as analysis of variance. As a result of the analysis, the introduction of safety and health obligations for the owner was found to be necessary, and the designation and operation of safety and health experts as an action plan was deemed reasonable. The authors expect that the results of this study can be used as basic data for revising the related regulations in Korea. Moreover, as a further study, a review of the effectiveness after improving regulations would contribute strongly to the domain.

60 Years of Korean Meteorological Society on Climate Change (기후변화 연구에 관한 한국기상학회 60년사)

  • This paper aims to examine from various perspectives how domestic research studies and projects related to climate change have been conducted to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean Meteorological Society (KMS). The 『50-year History of the Korean Meteorological Society』, published more than a decade ago, has never dealt with the history of development of individual fields of meteorology such as climate change. Therefore, it is of significance to look at the history of research activities and studies achieved by KMS members in the area of climate change over the past 60 years. The research on climate change in KMS is classified by era from the beginning to the latest and the contents are examined by major research projects at that time. During the past 60 years, climatological research in KMS has been mainly focused on general climate, synoptic climate, and applied climate (urban climate) until the 2000s. However, since the 1990s, climate change has become an important area for climate research. The 2000s are the beginning era of climate change research, since the major projects and researches for climate change has begun in the period. The 2010s can be a time when climate change prediction and monitoring are expanded and refined to meet the rapidly increasing demands for climate information from a wide range of areas. We concluded that the development of the research capabilities of the society over the past 60 years, in particular in the past two decades, in the field of climate change research is remarkable.

  • Large-scale online platforms such as MOOCs-Massive Open Online Courses, which provide a variety of educational contents, have provided a learning environment that allows students to freely access and learn anytime and anywhere. Currently, the proportion of online lectures and home-based learning is increasing, and portfolio or experience-based learning such as bootcamp, field activities, and team project-based group learning are also being actively carried out for educational outcomes. At present, interest in nano or microdegree focused on core technology in units of hours or credits is increasing significantly because such strategic intensive education enables effective learning in terms of continuity and efficiency of education. In an era of large changes in job market due to the reorganization of the industrial structure by new technologies, intensive education in specialized new technology fields such as smart mobility, big data, and artificial intelligence is much more conducive to finding a job. With this reason it is attracting attention as an alternative to lifelong learning are receiving In this paper we propose an educational platform that can efficiently and effectively support the purpose learning for the personalized microdegree education in the online learning era.
