  • Concurrent behaviors of multithreaded programs cannot be described effectively by automata-based models. Thus, concurrent program intrusion attempts cannot be detected. To address this problem, we proposed the process algebra-based detection model for multithreaded programs (PADMP). We generate process expressions by static binary code analysis. We then add concurrency operators to process expressions and propose a model construction algorithm based on process algebra. We also present a definition of process equivalence and behavior detection rules. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately detect errors in multithreaded programs and has linear space-time complexity. The proposed method provides effective support for concurrent behavior modeling and detection.

  • The tight integration of the part design and process planning is very effective to high quality product development and cost effective manufacturing. Moreover, the integration in the early design stage, that is, the integration of the conceptual design and the conceptual process planning may take a big impact with the forecasting the alternative of the design and manufacturing. In this paper, the real field parts are studied about the relations among the Feature, Function, and Manufacturing Process taking the style of reverse engineering method, to found the base of the systematic computer system for the integrated product design and manufacturing process planning.

  • In terms of productivity, the speed of machining process has been increasing in most of engineering part. But the tapping process does not reach at enough level compared with other machining processes because of its complicate cutting mechanism. In the high speed tapping process, the one of important elements is tool monitoring system to prevent tool breakage. This paper describes tool monitoring system by acoustic emission(AE) in the tapping process. We used 2 types of AE sensors in this test. The one is commercial sensor which is used in other machining monitoring system like polishing and the other is a self-fabricated sensor for this test. In this test we purpose to find out the frequency of AE signal in tapping process and verify the possibility of applying AE sensor in in-process tapping monitoring system. Also grasp of characteristic of tapping process by AE signal is handled.

  • A flexible disk grinding process model was developed based on the dynamic relationship proposed by Kurfess and the influence of the major system parameters which potentially affect the grinding process was studied. Due to the process complexities, several new parameters were assumed to be kinematically dependent on the geometric layouts of the process. Different process stages had been defined depending on the kinematic relationships between the grinding disk and workpiece. A trend of depth of cut was simulated using the proposed model and compared with the empirically measured data in two dimensions. Due to a poor prediction capability of the first model, a modified model was proposed and a better performance has been proved to reveal a closer description of processed surface quality. Also a deflection length has been verified using a different analytical approach.

  • The injection molding process has several advantages enabling it to produce large quantities of molded plastic products using a repetitive process. In recent years, it has been necessary to develop an injection molding process with micro/nano-sized patterns for application to the semiconductor industry and to the bio/nano manufacturing industry. In this study, we apply gas pressure to the inside of a mold and consider the gas dissolution phenomenon for a resin filling into a micro pattern with a line structure. Using numerical analysis, we calculate the filling ratio with respect to time for various internal gas pressures and various aspect ratios of the micro-patterns.

  • Bonding glasses is one of the important PDP (Plasma Panel Display) manufacturing processes. Bonding process includes aligning front and rear glasses with fixing clips. In this process, clips have to maintain perfect alignment between the front and rear glasses. The panel which is fixed by clips goes to next process called sealing. The sealing process is performed in high temperature ($465^{\circ}C$). During sealing process, alignment is very important because it can affect seriously on the PDP screen quality. This study suggests redesigned clips to improve PDP panel alignment and also shows stabilization of clips in a high temperature during sealing process.

  • The Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) process is an enhanced method to extract oil from bitumen which involves surface and central process facilities. This paper describes the Central Process Facilities (CPF) of SAGD and proposes several retrofit plans to the Heat Exchanger Network (HEN). In this approach, the process integration scheme is applied to estimate the energy saving in HENs, and various cases are modeled in favor of a commercial simulator. Throughout this work, a minimum approach temperature of 10℃ is assumed. The results reveal that, due to the HEN optimization using process integration, the heating and cooling duties can be reduced to 29.68MW and 1.886MW, respectively. Compared with the Husky case, all cases considered in this study indicate a potential reduction of at least 6% in total cost, including investment and operation costs.
