지하시설물 BIM 설계 교육을 위한 효율적인 업무프로세스 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Workflow Improvement for Underground Facilities BIM Design Education)

  • 전세계적으로 다양한 산업영역에서 디지털전환을 통한 새로운 가치 창출을 하고 있다. 특히 건설산업의 설계분야에서는 기존 CAD를 이용한 설계방식을 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 설계로 전환하고 있으며 국토부에서는2025년부터 BIM 설계 의무화를 추진하고 있다. 그러나 건설산업영역에서는 BIM 설계방식을 대응하기 위하여 노력하고 있으나 현실적으로 BIM 설계가 가능한 인력을 구하기 어려운 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 건설산업의 지하시설물 토목 설계분야에서 BIM 설계가 가능하도록 효율적인 업무 프로세스 개선 방안에 대하여 소개하고 BIM 설계 전문 인력 양성을 위한 방법론을 제안한다.

프로젝트 중심의 토목공학 입문설계 교과목 사례 분석 (Case Study for a Project based Introductory Design Course in Civil Engineering)

  • Although more than 15 years have passed since the introductory design courses were opened due to the introduction of engineering education certification in the civil engineering field, these courses have been operated somewhat unsatisfactorily compared to their importance as an introductory course for engineering design. This is partially because the quality of classes is affected by the instructor's individual ability due to the fact that a standard training plan for these courses has not been established so far. Therefore, in this paper, we try to present a reference model for the introductory design course by introducing a class operation case established through continuous improvement process over the last 10 years at Chungbuk National University. This case aims to cultivate students' problem solving and system design skills by carrying out projects to develop egg drop and wood bridge systems based on creative problem solving methodologies. As a result of a questionnaire survey conducted after the class, we found that students' problem solving and system design capabilities were improved significantly and there was a meaningful increase in level of interest and attention in civil engineering by taking this class.

공학설계에서 인지적 팀 다양성, 공학설계 자기효능감 및 팀 창의성의 관계 (Relationships among Cognitive Team Diversity, Engineering Design Self-Efficacy, and Team Creativity in Engineering Design)

  • This study examined the moderating effect of engineering design self-efficacy on the relationship between cognitive team diversity and team creativity. For this study, 377 mechanical engineering students in engineering design classes were included in the analysis. The results showed that both cognitive team diversity and engineering design self-efficacy were positively correlated with team creativity. The analysis of moderating effect indicated that engineering design self-efficacy further reinforced the positive relationship between cognitive team diversity and team creativity. Finally, implications and limitations of this study were explored.

토목환경공학과 특성을 고려한 공학입문설계 학습지도 사례연구 (Case Study on Course Plan of Introductory Engineering Design for Students Majoring Civil and Environmental Engineering)

  • This study summarized the case study of a course development of introductory engineering design considering the characteristics of civil and environmental engineering. The course mainly depends on conducting the design projects. The self-developed text book for the course consists of learning and activities of the core elements for the creation and decision of ideas and two independent design projects. Especially, the design project drew from a survey of students majoring in civil and environmental engineering and is well knitted to help students obtain the potential for soft-landing at higher major courses.

건축설비 관련 현황과 교육면에서의 개선방향 고찰 (A Study on Present Condition and Educational Improvement Plan of Building Services System)

  • The education of building services field at university is not enough, although the field has become to be very important in architectural engineering. This lack of education is one of the reason that the level of domestic building services field is lower than that in developed countries. Present conditions of related laws, fields of work after graduation and education at university in building services field have been studied, and education conditions have been investigated divided into four-year architectural engineering course and five-year architecture course. Though building services field has become more important at university education, the number of credits and professor of the field is still small than other fields of architectural engineering. More practical curriculums are necessary to meet the expectation of companies, and it will be one of the method to meet it that criteria of curriculum constitution is according to ABEEK(Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea) in more architectural engineering department.

ABET Assessment of a Mechanical Engineering Program through Senior Capstone Design Courses at University of the Pacific

  • This paper describes two capstone senior design courses for the Mechanical Engineering program at University of the Pacific. The first course taught in the Fall semester is entitled "Engineering Design/Senior Project I." The second course taught in the Spring semester is entitled "Engineering Design/Senior Project II." All Mechanical Engineering students with senior standing are required to take these two classes in this sequence. At the end of every Spring semester, industrial advisors are invited to assess the final senior projects during an annual Senior Project Day. This assessment is performed using the Program Outcomes and Program Educational Objectives established for Pacific's Mechanical Engineering program. Since all Mechanical Engineering students are required to complete senior projects, this is a 100% evaluation process. After the evaluations are done, the data sets are compiled and reviewed by the faculty for assessment purposes. It is important to note that the industrial advisors perform the evaluations, but the faculty members assess the information to determine if modifications need to be made to the program or courses. In addition to the senior project evaluations, general feedback from Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Committee (MEIAC) members is also useful for the outcomes-based assessment process in addition to the definition and evaluation of Program Outcomes and Program Educational Objectives.

"Computer Programming IV" as Capstone Design and Laboratory Attachment

  • A new obligatory subject, Computer Programming IV, is organized in the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, Yamagata University. The purposes of the subject are as follows: (1) Attachment to each laboratory for bachelor thesis was usually at the initial stage of the student's fourth academic year. This subject actually moves up the attachment because students are tentatively attached to a laboratory for this subject. The interval to complete their bachelor thesis is extended by half a year. (2) In each laboratory, students cooperate with each other to complete their project. The project becomes capstone design which JABEE (Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education) is recently emphasizing. We not only explain the introduction of this subject, but also report some case studies.

  • 본 논문은 공학기초설계 과목에서의, 사이버강좌를 통한 교육에서의 튜터의 역할에 관해서 논한다. 창의설계과목은 학생들과의 피드백이 매우 중요한 교과목으로서, 튜터와 교수, 학생간의 역할이 정확히 정립되어 있어야 함이 매우 중요하다. 이 논문에서는 튜터의 역할 중 교수법, 선후배간 유대관계, 관리차원과 기술적인 측면에서의 튜터들의 역할을 논의하고 있으며, 학생들의 참여도를 향상시킬 수 있는 튜터 활용의 중요성을 논하고 있다.

인포그래픽 기반 STEAM 프로그램 개발 및 효과성 검증 (Development of an Infographic-Based STEAM Program)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an infographic-based STEAM program for high school students and test its effectiveness. In this study, we converged high school 'art' education with 'Korean language' and 'mathematics.' The program was divided into four phases. The effectiveness of the program was analyzed by conducting matched pair t-test for 377 students at a girl's high school in Seoul before and after the program. The study found that the students' self-concept on mathematics and their attitude towards choosing science and engineering career showed significant increases after the program. By connecting high school courses through data visualization based on cognitive information design, findings from this study suggest that our infographic-based STEAM program should be implemented more frequently at high schools.

기계공학과에서 제시하는 Hands-on Experience 중심의 "엔지니어링 디자인" 교과목의 강의사례 (A Case Study of "Engineering Design" Education with Emphasize on Hands-on Experience)

  • 본 논문은 공학 교육에서 강조하고 있는 창의력, 협업 능력 및 의사소통능력의 함양을 주 목적으로 홍익대학교 기계 시스템디자인공학과에서 새로이 개발한 교과목에 관하여 소개하고자 한다. '기계 시스템 디자인공학과'는 엔지니어링 디자인을 강조하는 새로운 교과목을 갖춘, 기존 홍익대학교 기계공학과의 새로운 이름이다. 급변하는 교육환경과 산업계의 요구에 부응하기위해서 기계공학과는 아날로그 기반, 산업중심의 하드한 관점에서 디지털 기반, 인간 중심의 소프트한 가치 중심으로 그 교육 접근방식을 전환하였다. 이러한 관점에서 새로이 개설된 세 가지 학과목인 기계 시스템디자인 개론, 창의적 공학 설계, 제품디자인은 공통적으로 팀 프로젝트를 통해서 손으로 직접 만들고 대화하고 표현하는(이하 Hands-on experience)경험을 중요시 하고 있다. 또한 이들 과정에서는 브레인스토밍(Brain Storming)과 스케치를 통한 시제작(Prototyping) 과정을 강조하고 있으며, 전통적으로 다루기 힘들고 무거운 금속 소재 대신에 폴리스티렌 블록이나 카드보드와 같은 가볍고 유연성 있는 소재를 사용하여 가능한 다양하고 창의적인 원형(Prototype)을 만들고, 팀원들간의 활발한 의사소통을 체험 할 수 있도록 유도하였다. Hands-on experience 중심 프로그램들은 학생들로 하여금 협업능력을 강조한 학과목들을 통해 시각적이며 구체적인 체험을 하게 하여 전통적으로 분석적이고 수학적이며 추상적인 사고에 초점을 맞춘 공학과목들을 균형적으로 보완하는 역할을 할 것으로 보이며, 졸업 후 그들이 산업현장에서 접하게 될 복잡하고 구체적인 엔지니어링 과제들을 해결하는 엔지니어링 감각과 창의력을 개발하는데 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
