IFCXML BASED AUTOMATIC DATA INPUT APPROACH FOR BUILDING ENERGY PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

  • To analyze building energy consumption, the building description for building energy performance analysis (BEPA) is required. The required data input for subject building is a basic step in the BEPA process. Since building information modeling (BIM) is applied in the construction industry, the required data for BEPA can be gathered from a single international standard file format like IFCXML. However, in most BEPA processes, since the required data cannot be fully used from the IFCXML file, a building description for BEPA must be created again. This paper proposes IFCXML-based automatic data input approach for BEA. After the required data for BEPA has been defined, automatic data input for BEPA is developed by a prototype system. To evaluate the proposed system, a common BIM file from the BuildingSMART website is applied as a sample model. This system can increase the efficiency and reliability of the BEPA process, since the data input is automatically and efficiently improved by directly using the IFCXML file.

산적화물선의 에너지 저감 장치들의 성능 비교에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Comparison of Energy Saving Devices for Handy-size Bulk Carrier)

  • 최근에 CO2 배출에 대한 환경 규제가 마련되었고, 연료유 가격은 계속해서 상승하고 있다. 이런 상황들을 극복하기 위해 연료소모량을 감소시키고 추진효율을 개선한 에너지 저감 추진장치들이 계속해서 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에는 핸디형 산적화물선에 적용한 PBCF, SCHNEEKLUTH duct, 비대칭 러더 벌브, Mewis duct의 성능 실험을 서술하였다. 그 결과, SCHNEEKLUTH duct가 다른 에너지 저감 장치들에 비해 연료소모량 절감과 추진효율의 향상 측면에서 더 효과적이었다. 또한 SCHNEEKLUTH duct가 거주구 진동에도 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 그리고 연료소모량은 주기관 de-rating을 통해서도 절감할 수 있었다.

하이브리드 굴삭기의 에너지 관리 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Energy Management Control of Hybrid Excavator)

  • According to the successful development of hybrid vehicle, hybridization of construction equipments like excavator, wheel loader, and backhoe etc., is gaining increasing attention. However, hybridization of excavator and commercial vehicle is very different. Therefore a specialized energy management control algorithm for excavator should be developed. In this paper, hybridization of excavators is investigated and a new energy management control algorithm is proposed. Four control parameters, i.e., lower baseline, upper baseline, idling generation speed, and idling generation torque, are newly introduced and a new operating principle using those four control parameters is proposed. The use of Genetic Algorithm for the optimization of the four control parameters from the view point of minimization of fuel consumption for standard excavating operation is suggested. In order to verify the proposed algorithm, dedicated simulation program of hybrid excavator was developed. The proposed algorithm is applied to a specific hydraulic excavator and 20.7% improvement of fuel consumption is achieved.

  • 정보통신부에서 소비되는 에너지는 우체국 건물의 운영에 주고 사용되고 있어, 에너지절약은 건물의 실비를 효율적으로 관리하는 것이 매 중요하다. 이에 우체국 건물의 에너지 소비현황과 운용실태를 조사 분석하였으며, 그 결과 비효율적인 운영체계가 문제점으로 도출되었다. 이 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 시스템, 조직, 인력, 운영 등을 유기적으로 통합 관리 할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 본 논문은 도출된 문제점에 근거하여, 인터넷을 이용한 군 관리시스템 도입으로 전국에 우체국 건물의 자원을 통한, Group 관리하는 방안을 제시하였으며, 군(群) 관리시스템 적용 시 얻어지는 예산질감 및 기대효과에 대하여 도시하였다.

  • Now, in Korea, the performances of the building service equipment relay on the individual superintendent's share for the assessment of performance, fault detection, deterioration diagnosis of the building service equipment. As the result, very different quality of the performance or the durability of equipment is being obtained with his skill and effort and it is also not easy to assess that quality. This finally lead to the waste of labor force and the operating cost due to the high-cost, low-efficiency system. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to save energy, resource and to conserve performance of building service equipment. The FEMIS, facility, energy/environmental management & information system, for building service offer management process integrated with BAS, FMS and EMS and so on.

Optimal installation of electric vehicle charging stations connected with rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems: a case study

  • Electric vehicles (EVs) have been growing to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector. The increasing number of EVs requires adequate recharging infrastructure, and at the same time, adopts low- or zero-emission electricity production because the GHG emissions are highly dependent on primary sources of electricity production. Although previous research has studied solar photovoltaic (PV) -integrated EV charging stations, it is challenging to optimize spatial areas between where the charging stations are required and where the renewable energy sources (i.e., solar photovoltaic (PV)) are accessible. Therefore, the primary objective of this research is to support decisions of siting EV charging stations using a spatial data clustering method integrated with Geographic Information System (GIS). This research explores spatial relationships of PV power outputs (i.e., supply) and traffic flow (i.e., demand) and tests a community in the state of Indiana, USA for optimal sitting of EV charging stations. Under the assumption that EV charging stations should be placed where the potential electricity production and traffic flow are high to match supply and demand, this research identified three areas for installing EV charging stations powered by rooftop PV in the study area. The proposed strategies will drive the transition of existing energy infrastructure into decentralized power systems. This research will ultimately contribute to enhancing economic efficiency and environmental sustainability by enabling significant reductions in electricity distribution loss and GHG emissions driven by transportation energy.

Energy Management and Performance Evaluation of Fuel Cell Battery Based Electric Vehicle

  • Plug-in Hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) show great potential to reduce gas emission, improve fuel efficiency and offer more driving range flexibility. Moreover, PHEV help to preserve the eco-system, climate changes and reduce the high demand for fossil fuels. To address this; some basic components and energy resources have been used, such as batteries and proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells (FCs). However, the FC remains unsatisfactory in terms of power density and response. In light of the above, an electric storage system (ESS) seems to be a promising solution to resolve this issue, especially when it comes to the transient phase. In addition to the FC, a storage system made-up of an ultra-battery UB is proposed within this paper. The association of the FC and the UB lead to the so-called Fuel Cell Battery Electric Vehicle (FCBEV). The energy consumption model of a FCBEV has been built considering the power losses of the fuel cell, electric motor, the state of charge (SOC) of the battery, and brakes. To do so, the implementing a reinforcement-learning energy management strategy (EMS) has been carried out and the fuel cell efficiency has been optimized while minimizing the hydrogen fuel consummation per 100km. Within this paper the adopted approach over numerous driving cycles of the FCBEV has shown promising results.

이기종 무선망에서 에너지 효율 개선을 위한 망간 협력 기반 스케쥴링 기법 (A Cooperative Energy-efficient Scheduling Scheme for Heterogeneous Wireless Networks)

  • 무선망에서 소모 전력, 전송률, 통신 반경 등 서비스 요구 사항에 따라 상호 다른 망의 발전이 진행되어 왔다. 최근 차세대 무선망 환경에서는 초고속, 초저지연, 저전력 등 서비스 요구 사항이 보다 다양해지고 높은 수준으로 설정되고 있으며, 이를 만족하기 위한 방안으로 이기종간 효과적인 연동에 대한 연구에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이기종 무선망 환경에서 망간 연동을 통해 데이터 서비스가 이루어지는 상황에서 에너지 효율성을 반영하는 스케쥴링 기법을 제안한다. 특히 이기종 무선망 환경에서 사용자 형평성을 고려하면서 데이터 수율을 개선하는 비례균등 스케쥴링 방식을 기반으로 에너지 효율에 관한 요소를 반영하는 문제를 고려하고 에너지 효율을 개선함과 동시에 사용자 형평성, 데이터 수율을 모두 감안하는 에너지 효율적인 비례균등 스케쥴링 방식을 제안한다. 또한 모의실험을 통해 제안된 방식으로 비례균등 달성도를 유지하면서 에너지 효율이 개선됨을 보인다.

The Impact of Intellectual Capital Efficiency on Jordanian Companies Performance: The Moderating Roles of CEO Duality

  • CEO duality and its impact on firm performance represent one of the most contentious issues in both academia and business. This study, therefore, aims to examine the moderating role of CEO duality in the relationship between intellectual capital Efficiency (human, structural, relational, Capital Employed, and Innovation) and firm performance (earnings per share and Tobin's Q) among Jordanian companies. The study sample consists of services listed companies on Amman Stock Exchange. The study used panel data for the period 2014-2018 with a sample size of 230 observations. SPSS software was used to analyze the collected data. The regression results indicate a significant relationship between, IC and firm performance. When CEO Duality is incorporated into the model as a moderator, there is an increase in the R2 by 7.9%. The findings from this study expand the theoretical underpinning of corporate governance research by identifying the performance implications of CEO duality within the Jordanian context. It also contributes significantly to the literature review about the current status of the practices taken in the intellectual capital components efficiency among companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. Findings from this study also provide contributions to the concerned policymakers such as the Ministry of Finance, Securities Commission, and Amman Stock Exchange in Jordan, to improve the current policies related to intellectual capital efficiency.

전기자동차 배터리를 활용한 공장의 에너지 관리 방안 제안 (Proposal of a Factory Energy Management Method Using Electric Vehicle Batteries)

  • 공장의 에너지 효율을 높이는 방안 중 공정 스케줄링은 제조 공정에서 자원을 최적으로 할당하여 제품의 생산 계획을 수립하는 활동이다. 그러나 야간 근로가 불가피한 경우에는 이러한 전략이 효과적으로 적용되지 않을 수 있다. 또한, 생산 요구량의 지속적인 변화로 인해 실제 공장에서의 적용에 어려움이 있다. 최근에는 전기자동차의 보급이 급증함에 따라 전기자동차 배터리를 에너지 저장 시스템으로 활용하는 기술이 주목을 받고 있다. 이러한 배터리를 활용한 기술은 공장 에너지 관리를 위한 대안이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기자동차 배터리를 활용한 공장 에너지 관리 방안을 제안한다. 제안된 방안은 전기자동차 배터리 충전 상태 및 TOU(Time-of-use)를 고려하여 PSCAD/EMTDC 소프트웨어에서 분석된다. 제안된 방안은 예측된 전력 사용량과 TOU를 고려하여 수립된 공정 스케줄링과 비교 분석된다. 결과적으로 공정 스케줄링은 하루에 4,152원, 제안된 방안은 7,286원의 전기 요금을 절감하였다. 본 논문을 통해 공장 에너지 관리를 위해 전기자동차 배터리 활용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.
